Chance is a fun pup who loves to play, run circles, climb and jump, herd whatever moves, and adores kids! He's extremely good with children, although they need to understand his activity level.

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Meet Frankie -- a super-sweet, female pit mix who's fun, full of love, and learns quickly. She weighs about 35 lbs and is roughly 6 months old (she still had her last baby tooth when we found her). Frankie's not spayed or vaccinated but she's vermin free inside and out (according to our vet). In the few weeks we've had her, she has already learned how to sit on command. We're currently working on her house and crate training. We love Frankie, but we already have 2 large dogs and can't house a third. I would love to match her with a loving home. *The adoption fee covers vaccinations and spaying costs.

Herman is a good old man. That is mostly what I call him. He is on meds for Heartworms but we are going slow because of his age. He isn't totally blind but I don't think he can see that well. He was left outside his whole life. Only shaved once a year. He chases my cats so he stays in a crate most of the time. He is getting better at home training. He needs someone that will spend time with him and train him.

Huntsville Animal Services 4950 Triana Blvd Huntsville, AL 35805 PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT INFO BELOW (your question may be answered here) This page is largely volunteer operated. We use our own time to visit the shelter, take pictures and post them to this page. With that said, the above information may be the only information we have available for this animal as we do not like to get in the way of the shelter staff to ask a lot of questions on every single animal. Please know that a high percentage of animals ... (Read More)in the shelter are brought in as strays. It is impossible to know anything about a stray animal and many times we can only make our best educated guess on breeds, age, etc. Every dog you see posted here has passed a general temperament test as performed by shelter staff and it is considered to be non-aggressive toward adults. As far as child or cat aggression, that is not a standard test that can be performed on every animal. If you are concerned about either aggression, it is suggested that you visit the shelter in person and ask a shelter attendant for assistance. We do allow you to bring pets in to see if they get along before adopting, and if you elect to do so, make sure your pet(s) are COMPLETELY up to date on vaccinations, especially bordatella (kennel cough). ADOPTION FEES Cats seven months and older are currently $35 as a special Spring and Summer promotion that includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, feline AIDS/LEUKEMIA test, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Animal ID: 15-05-27-00267Bosco (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Bosco is a sweet, loveable boxer mix in need of a good home ASAP. He was abandoned in my neighborhood and every effort to find his previous owners has been exhausted. He is mildly fearful/aggressive towards adult males, but is friendly and sweet after he gets to know and trust you. He is playful and loves other dogs. He is semi-housebroken (he will let you know when he wants to go out, but will eliminate indoors if not let out right away) and knows how to sit and come when called. Please inquire if interested - I don't want to have to take him to a shelter! With some training and TLC, he will be a perfect pet!

Black Mouth Cur    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Paley is a loving 7 month old female. She needs a lot of room to run and play. She would make a great hunting dog, we just do not have the time to put in with her. I am a single Mom and she does not fit in our lifestyle now. She is very protective and loyal. And loves 'sitting and shaking' for treats.

Kittens six months and younger are $50. Dogs are $35 for adults, $50 for puppies. This includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, canine heart worm test over six months of age, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. LICENSE FEES $35 - Lifetime license not included in the adoption fee PER CITY ORDINANCE, DOMESTIC ANIMALS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A CITY LICENSE TAG WHILE RESIDING IN THE CITY LIMITS OF HUNTSVILLE. It is recommended and the responsibility of the adopter to put their new pet on their choice of heart worm and flea/tick prevention within 30 days of adoption in order to ensure a happy and healthy pet.     A very sweet, friendly pup.he was found in a national park, we tried to find any ads about lost dogs in area. He seems to be Josie trained..had him 3 days and no accidents int he house. He sits, howls a little. Is pretty easy, but we have busy work schedules and an elderly standard poodle..so this guy isn't what we can handle at the time. He is ok with our cat as well.

Hi! I'm Eddie. I love hanging out with my foster brothers and sisters and going on walks with my foster humans! I'm great on a leash. I love to be active and play, but I'm also a great cuddler, especially if you scratch my belly. I am a little bit slow to warm up to new folks, but as soon as I do, I'm very relaxed and comfortable in my surroundings. Kids are fine, cats are fine, everyone is fine! I'm just happy to hang out. If you're interested in me, please contact my foster parents and fill out an application. They will tell you about the adoption process. I can't wait to meet you!

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Abused/Neglected

Gracie is a sweet pup. She was found roaming a busy road next to our apartments and was almost hit by a few cars. We took her in and she was so loving and followed basic commands, but we are not allowed to have more than two animals and we already have three! We've been warned about a $700 fine and cannot find anyone else to take her in. She plays to rough with smaller dogs and cats, but she has such a sweet disposition towards humans and bigger dogs that we know she will fit right into a family.

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Saphira is a pit bull mix and hound(I believe). She is very energetic and loving. She is protective and barks but she has never bitten anyone except in play. She is wonderful with my kids and plays well with most dogs. She does wear some as she wants to keep playing and playing and playing. Sadly, we are going to a new duty station that bans and even puts down several breeds, pits among them. We would rather find her a forever home than risk this happening much to my sons dismay. Please help us find her a home where she won't be used to fight or breed. She is kennel trained and rarely has accidents.

*******ADOPTION PENDING******* Hi People, My name is Frankie - and my foster Mom says I'm a delightful and very happy bichon boy who deserves a home where I can be loved, cuddled and told I'm wonderful every single day. I am the best buddy you could ask for. I am happy, playful, sweet and especially talented at charming my way onto your lap, my foster mom says I just focus my big brown eyes on you and presto! There I am. Frankie loves to cuddle and gets along fine with other dogs but can be a little scared of new ones at first. He likes kids and people just fine and is crate-trained and likes to go for car rides. Frankie is an active dog ... (Read More)who will need to be placed with a family that is prepared to walk him daily and can take care of his fluffy white coat by regular grooming. Frankie was surrendered to our group unhouse trained, this is something that we are actively working on and he is doing really well with but his new adoptive family will have to continue helping him learn house manners. Being active Frankie need to be placed in a home with a fenced in back yard so he can get plenty of time out in the sun. Frankie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed has placed on flea and tick preventives and in good health. He is really a joy to be around and will make a great new furry baby for a special family out there. If you would like to know more about how to make Frankie a part of your family please contact his foster mom using the information provided on this site. ****Friend of Cats and Dogs Foundation preforms a home visit with the prospective dog. Out of state/ area Adoption will not be considered. We apologize for any disappointment the causes.**** (Less)

Chauncy is a handsome 2 yr old male, neutered, utd on shots and hw negative. He is a lover, not a fighter, and is looking for a peaceful home where other dogs don't pick on him. He is an excellent fence jumper, so you will need a 6 ft fence for sure, but he loves snuggling inside with his human friends, too. He takes cat chasing pretty seriously, so a home with no cats is preferable. Chauncy is available to adopt thru Alliance for Animal Welfare in Northport, AL.     Everyone meet our sweet Molly. It is with a sad heart we are looking for a new amazing home for her. We rescued her when she was just 5 weeks old and at the time had no idea she was a Jack Russell Terrier. She is about 5 months old now and needs a fenced in back yard to play in and lots of room to run which we don't have here. She is house broken and such a sweet girl. She is up to date on her shots and is scheduled to be spayed at the end of this month which we will pay for still. If anyone is interested please private message me. We hate to see Molly go but would love to give her to someone who loves her as much as we do!

She will tolerate the cat, when we're with them, but if left alone, she will not. She's used to being around kids and other dogs. Walks on a leash. Obeys. Sits, lays, rolls over, shakes. She does have a knot on her chest, not real noticeable, vet said it was typical, wouldn't get bigger. We have changed jobs and just can't keep her.

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-04-00460Lil Man (male)

Yorkie    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

If you are interested in any of the FFOS pups, the first step is to fill out an application, completely at http://ffosk9rescue.org/adoption-application. This sweet boy is a 9 year old, Yorkshire terrier. He weighs in at 8 pounds, but is small and just a little stocky. He was found as a stray, and the good samaritan who took him in was unable to find his owners. For a little guy, he has a big personality. He will talk to you and enjoys playing as well as snuggling on your lap. You can see in the pics that there is a bit of a haze in both of his eyes. He has nuclear sclerosis. This is an age-related change in the density of the crystalline ... (Read More)lens nucleus that occurs in all older animals. The term is also known as lenticular sclerosis and describes a bluish-grey haziness at the nucleus that usually does not affect vision, except for unusually dense cases. He gets around just fine and doesn't seem to have actual vision problems. He gets along well with the dogs in his foster home, has not had an accident in his crate nor in the house. He did mark a little at first, the use of a belly band till he settles in would solve that problem. We will send one home with him. Due to his size and age, he will not be place in a home with dogs over 25 lbs, nor children under the age of 10. His adoption donation is $200. We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) group, so your donations are tax deductible and go right back into the care of these and future wonderful pups. Out of state adoptions are possible, however, you must be willing pay for the health certificate, if necessary and the transport fee. We do not personally transport dogs, therefore, are reliant on independent transport services. There is not always a transport available and it can be costly. You are always welcome to pick up your new family member. We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes. We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3 tax-deductible organization. We rescue pets from high kill shelters, strays, and unwanted pets, prior to being euthanized. (Less)

Izzy needs a good loving home! She's so sweet & shy at first, but she's extremely loving & loyal! She's part wire hair terrier, so be aware she's a digger & a chewer. That's the reason she needs a home....she's chewed the wiring on my husbands truck and I can no longer keep her. Please someone give her the home she deserves! I can't bring myself to take her to a shelter, but I'm worried if I don't find her a home soon he may take her. Please contact me at rcrutch1977@gmail.com
