Unfortunately we cannot keep these two beautiful dogs any longer and need to find a good home for them. They are 4 year old female Welsh Corgi Pembroke mixes (Spade) and are up to date on shots/vaccinations. They are great with kids young and old, excellent temperament, house trained, and healthy with no special diet. We rescued these sisters 3 years ago and would prefer they stay together when they move on to a new home. They do great indoors and outdoors and need a new place to call home.

Rescue Me ID: 15-03-01-00605Baron (male)

German Shepherd    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baron was a stray which we took in approximately 2 years ago. We have had some success with his training, but Baron is not adjusting well to being an indoor dog. He bolts out the door and drags our small children when they take him out on a leash. We are not in a position to fence our yard and Baron needs a place where he can run and explore. We have also had an elderly family member move in with us last year and we are fearful that Baron could unwillingly cause a fall down the stairs. Baron has been neutered and micro chipped.

I found out from my daughter, who is FB friends with Annette Simmmons Maddox--she is the person who lives in Jacksonville and has seen the dog.

American Bulldog    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Hi, my name is Gunner! I am a 3 1/2 year old Johnson American Bulldog. I weigh just under 100 pounds and I love to play and snuggle. I am neutered, up to date on all shots, and currently on heart worm/flea/tick prevention. My mommy and daddy live in a small townhouse with a small fenced in back yard and I need more exercise than they can provide as they are expecting a human baby soon. If I don't get my exercise, I play in the house too much and since I am so big, this will not be safe for my little brother. I get very excited to see my humans and give them kisses and I even get to sleep in the bed with them. I am primarily an inside dog ... (Read More)and trained to use a doggy door to go freely outside when I want/need and I stay in one room inside with the outside access when my parents aren't home. I love to be a little bit spoiled. I also do well outside in nice weather and a dog house. I love to play and because I am so big I don't do well with small animals because I can be too rough without understanding and I can hurt them. Although my behavior is not aggressive, I need to meet other animals with caution to avoid problems. I walk very well on and off a leash and mind my parents. I love to play fetch! I know sit, shake, high five, lay down, and give kisses. I am a very smart boy and could probably learn more tricks! I love to go to my granddaddy's farm and run through the pastures, swim in the pond, and chase cows. I am looking for a home where I will continue to be as loved as I am now. I love lots of attention and need lots of exercise. I prefer to continue to be inside with my humans for the most part but would love a bigger back yard or a human who can take me outside every day.     Joey is a 9 week old Boxer/Shepard mix. Female, full of life, quite comical, very smart and naturally rambunctious. She just had her 2nd visit to the Vet and is proven to be a healthy pup. I started fostering her when she turned 5 weeks old and need to find her a home as quickly as possible. I do not recommend at this time that she be paired with small children but would love to see her with a man, woman or couple that can give her a safe and secure home.

Sweet girl approx. 14-16 weeks old, dewormed and up-to-date on shots. Gets along well with our dogs and cats. Training coming along slowly - typical puppy is easily distracted - she wants to please and is so very loving. Her current weight is approx 26 lbs. She will be a big black bear of a lab. Beautiful thick coat has waves on her back. She was placed with me by her owner who did not have a fenced yard, did not allow her in the house and had not vetted her. Traffic, coyotes and a neighboring pit bull that has attacked a full grown dog put this baby in a lot of danger. We are keeping her safe, but cannot handle a 4th dog with my ...     This baby needs a home! She was born mid November and we took her in but we really have too many animals to care for. She knows to use her potty pads if we are not home to let her out...she comes with a pop up crate type thing she likes to sleep in,her blanket, favorite toy,food/water dish and almost a full bag of potty pads. Small rehoming fee to help ensure she goes to a good home. We were told she's a shi tzu/chihuahua mix but she looks more like a Ratshi to us. She does well with kids and other animals.

She is not bad with children just babies and small toddlers scare her and she has started to bite them. She is either going senile or possible sight issue. She bit a lady on a bike that she knew and we must place her in a new home as we are adopting two young grandsons. She has also taken up barking and chasing the train. She needs a fenced yard. She has never been chained and when we tried a runner she almost strangled herself and i was scared shed hyperventilate she was panting so hard. She needs to be in a home where she is the only pet or at the least the only dog. She is ok with small males but at this point I wouldnt push it. She is ...     These two dogs are the sweetest things I've ever met. Their names are Nina and Isis (respectively in picture) and their owner was almost evicted due to a change in management that changed the 'vicious dog' rule. The younger one Isis is 1 year old and Nina is 4 years. They need to go together because Isis has taken Nina in as her adoptive mother. The dogs have been in my care for about a week but I'm severely allergic to them an can no longer care for them. Nina is currently limping with no known reason, but I cannot afford a vet as I'm between jobs and taking care of my other pets as well. Please call (727)331-4594 if interested.

We do allow you to bring pets in to see if they get along before adopting, and if you elect to do so, make sure your pet(s) are COMPLETELY up to date on vaccinations, especially bordatella (kennel cough). ADOPTION FEES Cats seven months and older are currently $35 as a special Spring and Summer promotion that includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, feline AIDS/LEUKEMIA test, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Kittens six months and younger are $80. Dogs are $80 to $170 and includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, canine heart worm test over six months of age, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. LICENSE FEES $35 - Lifetime license not included in the adoption fee PER CITY ORDINANCE, DOMESTIC ANIMALS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A CITY LICENSE TAG WHILE RESIDING IN THE CITY LIMITS OF HUNTSVILLE. It is recommended and the responsibility of the adopter to put their new pet on their choice of heart worm and flea/tick prevention within 30 days of adoption in order to ensure a happy and healthy pet. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gomez is a 9 month old Aussie/Border Collie mix that came to Safe Haven when he was a 6 week old puppy, along with his 7 siblings. He's the only one out of his litter to inherit the trait of the not having a tail from the Aussie side! Others had half or whole tails. As the months go by, Gomez is wondering where his home is. He is such a sweetheart who loves to give you kisses. Gomez loves all dog, cats, people, etc. He honestly is the most versatile of the litter. He enjoys play time and will chase after a ball. And loves to lay by your side when you're relaxing. Gomez is crate trained and has been Neutered and updated on all shots and ... (Read More)worming. He needs his forever home! If you're interested in Gomez, please call or text (text is better) 334-723-5160. A home check and vet reference check is required. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-01-00405Roscoe (male)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Roscoe is a handsome Catahoula mix who was surrendered to us in the spring of this year (2014) along with his 3 siblings. Before we got him, he had little to no human contact. After a few days of adamant physical contact, he came out of his shell and now does perfect! Although he is still a little skittish of new people. But with the right amount of patience, he will also trust you! Roscoe is neutered and updated on all shots, worming and heartworm prevention. He gets along with other dogs, and doesn't mind cats. A home check and vet reference check is required to adopt! Transport can be arranged. (334) 723-5160
