He becomes very nervous & hyper around small children & is not good with cats. Photo to follow shortly (black and white Terrier mix). Casey was recued from downtown Manhattan after 9/11. He is a very loving lap dog, though has a bit of a Napolean complex when he see other dogs. He suffered two ruptured disks when he was 4 or 5, but surgery was successful, though he can't walk up large stair wells. He was very loved, but due to divorce, needs to find a new loving home. I really need help re homing my dog. I've been trying for 5 months to find a place to take her that is no kill. I have come up empty handed. As of now my only option is Kent County SPCA. I do not want to take her there because they have a really high kill rate. family and I have been separated for 5 months now due to the mobile home park I live in does not allow dogs. Very sweet dog for a family who has the time and dedication for her. When I bought her the owner said she was purebred border collie but I believe she is mixed. She Loves to run around outside and fetch balls and Frisbee's. I do have a 3 year old daughter she is great with, I just haven't seen her interact with any other kids so not sure how it would be? Understandably, Missie suffers from fear/anxiety when strangers come in the house or children come near her. She is well behaved doesn't chew, bark is not aggressive and is house broken. She is though extremely nervous and shy. When she opens up to you she's all love and not a mean bone in her body. Audrey is an adorable adult dog, but she is rambunctious and sweet like a pup. She's a staffordshire bull terrier with a quarter of boxer in her. She has sensitive skin and needs dog food high in protein. She loves to run and play. She also enjoys laying at your feet when you're home relaxing. I've had Audrey since she was 8 weeks old. Dogs can make good pets in Delaware if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized.
