Rescue Me ID: 17-10-22-00124Maggie (female)

Border Collie    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

No health issues. She does have a sensitive stomach. Good with cats, older children and a kind and loving companion to adults as well. Wonderful greeter. Not a neurotic line. Loves to fetch stuffed animals but tires after about 5 minutes. She's a beautiful dog. Easily cared for. Jumps into the bathtub on her own when you ask her to. Sleeps on the couch but not the bed, but a chicken/duck/turkey killing dog. We've given her 9 chances over the years and it's just time to let her go or euthanize her. Breaks our hearts.

Hi everyone I'm Sully. Everyone tells me I'm such a good boy and yep, that's right. :) There's all kinds of things you should know about me. so just sit back, relax and I'll tell you all about myself. I am very handsome and quite the gentleman so all the girls love to play with me. I get so worn out by having so many girlfriends, We run and chase each other and play with toys and chase birds. It's pretty exciting. I'm pooped by the time I come back to my kennel. Don't want to hurt a gals feelings though so we play everyday. :) I mind, all the time even when I don't want to. I always sit when I'm told and I'm very careful ... (Read More)not to get a finger when given a snack. I love snacks. Especially chicken snacks. I like to go in and out the doggie door and I like to lay in the sun and enjoy my chew bone. I will follow you where ever you want me to go and I won't run away. Heck I don't want to get lost. I like people and I really like little people, So I think I'm a pretty good baby sitter. I am having fun with all my friends but I am dreaming of my very own home someday. So here's my wish list. First of all a family. I'd like to live inside with my family. I would like a yard to play in and maybe even another puppy to play with. If you would like to meet me, please call the Aunties. I really love them. :) HaHa Everything he said is totally true. He's quite the Sully. Sully is just about 3 years old. He is neutered, up on all his vaccinations, micro chipped and house trained. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email us for an application. kjfam@dcdi.net (Less)

Animal ID: COLTCOLT (male)

Border Collie    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

'Colt' This guy is Colt! He is a Border Collie mix around a year old. We are looking for an experienced home for Colt that can help him work through lack of socialization and having some sort of trauma to his neck. Colt is a case that we desperately wish that animals could talk to us. So we could know why he has had such a rough start in life and how we can help him more. Colt was a local stray brought in to us by a citizen, whom it took them a week to catch the poor guy! When Colt first came in, he didn't know he could trust us and was so scared, that when we would talk to him, he would pee all over himself. He was also terrified of the ... (Read More)thought of you touching or rubbing his neck. The poor guy had to have had a trauma of sort, whether he was tied out for long period of time or was drugged by a vehicle he may have fallen out of. Unfortunately whatever the cause of the trauma is, it will always be a mystery. Here we are 2 months later afterfffffff lots of treats, patience, and baby talk ;) We feel confident that Colt is ready to find his forever home. He is more social, especially if he has a K9 buddy around (they are like a safety blanket to him), no longer submissive urinating, and has made great steps in neck rubs and is learning the feel of a collar/leash/harness is an okay thing by taking slow and easy steps. He has met new people and is very timid at first but once he gets a sniff of you he becomes curious to smell more and see what you are all about. So here is what type of home we are looking for our man Colt.%A0 An experienced home who has history of working with 'special needs' doggies who are in need of extra love and patients to help him build the confidence Colt needs. A home with another dog that can give extra support to Colt, there's just somethings that dogs can do for each other that us humans cannot! Preferably a dog close to Colt's age that would love to romp and play with him. And of course a more quiet home, without children. We believe the high activity and noise of a home with kids would only add Stress to Colt and nobody wants that. We really want the best fit for Colt and so far we believe this kind of home would suite Colt best.%A0 If you think Colt would be a great addition to your home, please contact us to setup a meet and greet!%A0 (Less)

Animal ID: MAGNUMMAGNUM (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This guy is Magnum! We are estimating his age at 5 months and could be a German Shepherd mix. He is a handsome guy and is full of puppyness! He walks on the leash but only with part of it in his mouth! He also will carry around any toy you give him and has even started to figured out what the game of fetch is all about. Magnum is still a puppy, so he will need help in the potty training department along with training classes. Due to Magnum being an adorable bouncy puppy, a home with small children would not be a good fit for Magnum. Please contact us if interested in Magnum!

Miniature Pinscher    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Allyson is new to us but what we know about her so far is that she is a very cute and spunky Miniature Pinscher who seems to be game for anything! She is very friendly and would make a good companion for someone. She walks well on the leash, and this gal could stand to lose some weight, so some short daily walks would be nice for her. Allyson really enjoys curling up in her dog bed to take afternoon naps so she is looking for a home that has a fluffy bed for her! As we learn more about Allyson we will let you know! In the mean time stop by the shelter and meet this wonderful girl!

Rescue Me ID: 17-10-12-00152Frisco (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Foster Location: Twin Falls, ID Frisco is a 1 year old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix (our best guess) who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue from an Idaho shelter. This 6 pound guy is a gem at the shelter he had a hard time meeting new doggie friends but now that he is living in a foster home and his life is less stressful he is doing great. HE has made great friends with the other dog in the home and doesn't seem to mind the resident cat (though he thinks the cat should play with him from time to time). He would however do best with another dog close to his own size rather than a large breed dog. Frisco is fully crate trained and house trained; he ... (Read More)even mastered the dog door in less than a day. He appears to have had no basic training and would love to do a puppy class as he is super smart and eager to please. He loves to play outdoors so will need a fenced in yard and of course lots of fun toys. Able to be most anything you want him to be; Frisco can be your walking partner, your cuddle buddy and your best friend for life. He is a happy little guy who enjoys life to the fullest. Frisco can be just a tad bit shy when meeting new people so we do require no home with kids under 12. Frisco is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. There is a $100 adoption fee for Frisco If you think Frisco would be a great addition to your family, fill out an application today! Schnauzer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This handsome boy is Scooter. He is a miniature Schnauzer Terrier cross. Someone dropped him off at the local shelter. We think he is about 9 months old and is fully vetted and micro chipped. Scooter has had something traumatic happen to him early in his short life, as he will not come out of his crate if someone is nearby, especially men. He takes some coaxing but once in your arms he is very well behaved. Has been started on leash training and some socializing with other dogs and people. He frightens easily with sudden movements or noises. He whines a bit when separated but does not bark. He has shared a kennel with fellow rescue ... (Read More)Charlie for the last four months and they get along great. Once he gains your trust he would be a wonderful house dog to cuddle with and to keep you company. We would like to see him get adopted with Charlie as they seem to be bonded. He is going to take a lot of patience but will be worth the effort. (Less)

Foster Location: Boise, ID Pretty sure that 4 year old Jenny could NOT be any cuter! This lovely girl came to Fuzzy Pawz from a local shelter when she was not doing well in a kennel environment. We are now committed to finding her the perfect humans to complete her world. Jenny is a very happy girl with a ton of energy and a zest for life! She will need regular exercise to keep her healthy and happy; she mellows right out after she gets her daily dose of running/walking/jogging, whatever. Happy to be wherever her people are Jenny will make most household a great addition. We'd love to see her with a young couple that wants a dog ... (Read More)partner to take everywhere with them. No kids under 7 however. Super smart and eager to please in the last week Jenny has learned 'come', 'sit' and will respond to her name. Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Fearful/Anxious

Mouse or Miss Mouse is an Aust Cattle Dog/Border Collie Mix. She turned 6yrs old January 2017. She is good with other animals, cats, rabbits, pet birds, Poultry ..ect. Does Have very strong Herding/Stock Dog instinct, just not trained for herding. However, she does take her 'job' of being a Stock Dog Very Seriously, and Keeps track of my Ducks and Chickens. She LOVES to help open Barns in the mornings as well, as closing them at night. And does her best at helping by trying to 'Herd' on her own when we are trying catch birds. She does 'Chihuahua' bark when helping. The ONLY real Issues that Mouse has, is she suffers from Separation Anxiety ... (Read More)from me, and she suffers from Fear Anxiety W/O Aggression. Gun shots, Fireworks/crackers, Thunder, trash truck, nail guns, unknown sounds, strangers, Kids, strange dogs, Strange/unknown places, the Car..ect.. And IF You ARE NOT part of the Immediate Family. Again, SHE IS NOT Aggressive, just Fearful. Although She is submissive by nature, she will nip an unknown dog IF it is running from Her. But Will Not start a fight, unless she 'feels' is defending herself. Again, she IS Not aggressive, just very anxious. I have found some ways too help with her anxiety. But her New home MUST completely Understand Anxiety Disorders (As well as Cattle Dog personality) and can continue to work with her. I have owned Mouse since she was a pup, and she was NOT Left in the backyard to rot. She slowly developed the Anxiety issues over time, and I have spent a lot of Time and effort Working with her trying to help her over come them. Some stuff she has gotten better with, while Other stuff is still a huge Struggle. I am struggle with personal Issues and will be moving. Unfortunately, Taking her With me IS simply NOT an Option. She IS House trained, Is not destructive when left at home, Good w/or w/o a Kennel. LOVES! Frisbees!! but will retrieve a Ball as well. Sleeps on the bed w/me. Does NOT Like Water.. And Does Believe she is the Re-enforcer IF the cat is doing something wrong..or so she thinks. OH! and she does, I believe, Have Collapse Trachea do to a throat injury, so needs her food watered down and cant really ware a collar. BTW: Mouse is also living in a Rural area, and it should stay that way.. She IS Not a City Dog.. (Less)

When Jed and Gypsy first came in, we wondered if they would make it through the night. Three months later, thanks to a lot of love and good care, along with many prayers, they are healthy, happy and ready to go to a new forever home. Gypsy is about 4 years old. She is such a silly girl and loves attention. She has even started playing with toys. She loves to have a buddy to play and she and Jed are still the best of friends. When they first came in, they wouldn't leave each others side. They had been through the worst times imaginable and they stayed together to save each other. Gypsy is more independent now. She doesn't always ... (Read More)have to have Jed in her sight. She isn't afraid to go explore alone and she's very confident. We tell her everyday how perfect and gorgeous she is and I think she knows it. :) Gypsy came in with a bad leg. She couldn't put any weight on it at all and was in so much pain. X rays showed that her knee had been broken years before and had never been treated. Our vets thought she would either have to have knee surgery or maybe even have her leg amputated. Not the case now. She is running on all fours and using her bad leg. We still give a small dose of pain medication but Gypsy is doing very well. Gypsy is great with kids and other dogs. and just loves everyone she meets. She will need a patient family. We don't think Gypsy has even been in the house so some potty training work is needed. Gypsy is spayed, up on all vaccinations and micro chipped. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. (Less)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID Chrissy is a 2 year old 30lb mix (shepherd + lab + something smaller?) who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue from a local shelter. Chrissy originally came to Idaho from Texas with a case of heartworm; a bottle cap in her stomach and a healthy fear of humans. Treatment for the heartworm; surgery to remove the bottle cap and a lot of time/love/patience and Chrissy is ready to find her forever home. Sadly Chrissy is still very unsure of people; but we know that her staying in foster care is not going to help her grow and she needs a family of her own that will help with that. She has made decent progress in her ... (Read More)foster home but will still routinely seek the safety of a corner behind furniture or inside her crate when she gets overwhelmed. This little girl has a huge heart that is just waiting for the right person to unlock it. Chrissy must go to a home with a confident, friendly dog. In her foster home, she closely watches the resident dog for guidance. If the foster mom is petting the resident dog, Chrissy will come close for affection. If the resident dog takes a treat, then Chrissy will as well. She does well on hikes and enjoys her walks; she will run if she sees the leash but will soon stop and sit to be leashed. She is calm and relaxed out in the yard so a yard with at least a 6' fence is a must for her. She is housetrained and crate-trained; she is trustworthy to be left loose in the home when her people leave. Her adopter must be extremely calm and patient, willing to give Chrissy space and time to trust. She will need a family that can give her a routine and consistency in her life. Chrissy has the potential to become a loyal, loving dog but will need to find the perfect home to achieve that. We know from watching her grow while she has been with us that in the right home Chrissy will thrive. Chrissy is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $50.00.     After a rough beginning for Jed and Gypsy they are on the way to a better life. We actually wondered for a while if they would be ok. Pretty close to death but they pulled through. We don't have any idea what kind of life Jed had before he came to ANH. We are just hoping that he was lost and not left behind on purpose. Since we try to be as positive as possible, we need to let these guys have a chance to start over and try to forget about the past. Funny thing about dogs, he would probably forgive instantly but we won't, believe me. Jed is about 4 years old. He has turned into the biggest moosh. He loves to snuggle. He minds ... (Read More)unbelievably well and does everything he can to please. He is so soft and is so amazingly kind. Just a very sweet hound boy. He gets along great with other dogs, loves kids and was wonderful with the kitties at the vet clinic. We thought at first he may have been a hunting dog but he really isn't interested in anything but hugs. Oh and food. Breakfast and Dinner are still pretty important events in his day Jed needs a patient family. He is learning about potty training but we don't think he had ever been inside. Our vet even suggested he may have been in a box or crate most of his life.:) Jed is neutered, up on all his vaccinations and micro chipped. He would love a home.     Konan is very sweet. I have had him since he was 6 weeks old. I do not have a fenced in area for him so he is either in his kennel or on a run. He has become too strong for me to walk him on a leash and I don't trust him to walk freely as he is a high energy dog. He does great with my other two little dogs, my cats, and my 7 yr old daughter, but I don't know how he'd react to a dog he does not know. I want him to have more freedom to run and play.     I'm very sad I need to re-home my border collie, Neo. He is not getting along with our goats (and that's our business). He runs off leash and responds to voice commands. He is up to date in all shots, neutered, house trained, micro chipped, and athletic. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

If you are looking for a gorgeous girl to keep you company, be your very best friend and be super loyal, Tausha is your girl. Another bonus she will keep you in shape. She likes to be chased around until she darn well feels like coming in (HaHa) She is so pretty and so soft and she can be so sweet. Then she gets a little mischievous twinkle in her eye, puts her head down and her tail up and away she goes. Makes us a little crazy but she sure is beautiful when she's running free. We wouldn't expect anything less. She is an Pyrenees and she is acting exactly the way an Pyrenees should act. She is protective, loyal but ... (Read More)definitely has an attitude. She is strong willed but would love to have a family. She loves to be brushed and snuggled. She is great with male dogs but not females. She is not good with kitties or chickens. She loves children and would be a fabulous babysitter. She plays ball only when she wants to but she always loves a squeaky toy. :) That's the puppy in her still. Taush is about 2 years old. She is spayed, up on all her vaccinations, and micro chipped. We love this beautiful girl and we know there is a perfect home for her. We know she will make her new family amazingly proud and happy that she is a part of their lives. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. Pit Bull Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Tasha! Tasha was a rescue dog from Japan but found herself in a Utah shelter, stressed and afraid. We rescued her from her 'rescue gone wrong' and found her to be a sweet senior girl that just LOVES to be touched and loved on! Her paperwork places her age at 16 but she does seem, and act, 3-4 years younger! Her foster mom has worked hard to help her overcome some bad habits like resource guarding and dog selectivity, but she still needs a furever home that will 'keep her honest' :-). Tasha is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, crate trained, snuggle trained ( ;-) ), potty trained, and is working on her leash skills.

My name is Purdy. I'm 1 1/2 years old and I've been told I'm a very sweet and lovable girl! I love people and would like to become someone's new best friend. I love to go for walks, I'm good on a leash and could possibly be your hiking or running partner. I am spayed, current on all vaccinations, and microchipped. My mom says I am a happy girl bursting with personality. I knows basic commands, am super smart, learn quickly, and really want to please. I am also house trained. I'm good with older kids, but I've not been around little ones. I don't really like female dogs but have been good with the boys. I would just need a proper ... Rescue Me ID: 17-01-18-00126Happy (male)

German Shorthaired Pointer    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mr. Happy is an incredible German Shorthair Pointer. He is so well mannered, so obedient and beautiful. He loves to play ball and he loves squeaky toys. He runs around the field and picks up all the other toys the other dogs have left out. Then he hides them in his kennel for later. He loves to torment everyone by squeaking the abandoned toys he's found that are 'all' his now. He is kind of a clown and can be goofy but he loves to snuggle. Tummy rubs were invented just for him and he doesn't ever want them to stop. Food is a very big part of this kids life too. He loves treats. He also loves bubble baths. He had his very first ... (Read More)spa treatment and seriously did not want to get out of the tub. He strutted his stuff when he came back to the shelter as if to say. 'Yep I am lookin fine' :) Our Happy had some bad news. The vet noticed a growth on his leg and after a biopsy was done we found out he had a soft tissue sarcoma, grade 1. Which is very slow growing. The lump was removed and our vets thought they got all the cancer. The prognosis is good. Happy is just 7 years old and he loves life. We are hoping there is someone who will be willing to share a few wonderful years with him and follow through with any necessary treatments. Happy is neutered, up on all his vaccinations and micro chipped. He is a pro at the doggie door and would love an inside home. White Shepherd    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] I need to find my son's white german shepherd, Bylo, his forever home. He is eight years old (12/5/2016) and is on medication for idiopathic seizure disorder which is well controlled. He's a large goofy boy and part of our family. Bylo is very affectionate and an excellent companion. It would be helpful for him to have someone that has experience with the shepherd breed and able to work on socialization. He is protective of his family and nervous around new people until he warms up. He is very responsive to commands and is leash and house trained. He's close to 80lbs, up to date on vaccinations and neutered. He is also microchipped. ... (Read More)He'd probably do best in a one dog home and has never been around cats. My son has been diagnosed with asthma and unfortunately his 'best friend' is one of his triggers. It breaks my heart to have to do this but I need to do what is best for all of us. We live in Boise and really need to find somewhere for Bylo as soon as we can. If you are interested please contact us. Thank you (Less)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

SAY HELLO TO PUPPY MOSBY! Mosby is a 12 week old border collie mix puppy. Mosby is neutered, has had his first and second shots, been dewormed, and microchipped. Fenced yard with a 6 foot or taller fence (no underground fences) is a must and all other animals in the home must be fixed. There will be zero exceptions to these requirements for Mosby so please don't ask. Mosby is very energetic and would do best with another playful dog. No children under 10 as the higher energy of smaller children is not a good mix for Mosby. Socialization will be very important for him and a puppy kindergarten class would be a great place to start! American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, My name is Zoey and I am a snuggly pibble (aka a loving pitbull). My previous owner treated me horribly, beating me in the head and breaking my tail several times so that now it is a unique tail. I can't wag my tail so I have to express my happiness through my pretty eyes and my slobbery tongue! I am looking for a furever family that will love me for who I am and let me sleep on their bed, which I love as much as playing. I also would like a home that will shower me with love and maybe even have another dog that I can play with. I am not destructive when left alone and am housebroken. I don't do cats though, unless they are in my mouth ... (Read More);-) I am spayed and up to date on vaccinations. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-07-00481Rebel (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rebel was in a wonderful home for about 3 months everything was going great. He loved the kids, the other dogs and even the kitties. He was part of the family and very loved. Well some neighbors moved next door and the fence fighting stated. Wasn't all the neighbor dogs fault, I'm sure Rebel wasn't innocent. He got so fixated on trying to argue with the dogs next door, he just wouldn't listen. When his dad tried to get him away from the fence he nipped. Then he realized what he had done and he was so sorry. He knew he had been naughty. With so many kids in and out of the yard it just wasn't a good fit for him. Although he loved ... (Read More)all the kids and he loved his family. The dogs next door were just trouble and bringing out the very worst in our boy. Rebel needs an active lifestyle, or maybe even a job. He would love to go out and work and then come home and spend the evening with his family. He minds unbelievably well. He is potty trained and has very good house manners. He does attach himself to one or two people and then is protective. He thinks he has to take care of his world. Rebel is about 5 years old. He came to ANH when his dad died. Ever since he's been confused and trying to find his way and his new place. We were happy to welcome him back because we all love him. We would sure like him to find a home that works for him. Rebel has been neutered, is up on vaccinations, and micro chipped He's a good boy. He just needs a second chance. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Thank goodness these folks stepped up to help Rebel. He has been neutered, is up on his vaccinations and micro chipped. He would love to have an inside home. He would also love room to run and play in a safe fenced yard. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. We will put you in touch with his foster family so you can hear more wonderful things about this sweet boy. Make this boy's dreams come true and give him a master of his own. Rebel has now out lived his past two owners. It is believed that he has not had much training in his past 4 years. We know he was left of on a chain at least half ... (Read More)of his life. When his elderly master passed away he moved to the city and there it was evident he had no training and was not allowed to stay. His current foster family was told he was going to be taken back to farm and let the elements determine his fate. As soon as they heard about that they asked if he could stay just a few more days so plans could be made to foster this cute boy. When he first came he did not even know how to 'play dog' with his foster sister. He was afraid of car rides and had no dog educate manners. Now he understands he will get food daily. He is potty trained as long as we let him out often and loves to 'play dog' with his foster sister. He finds the cat fascinating but can not resist the temptation to run after him and nip him if he can. (He most likely will not do well with cats.) He will be your watch dog and give you a warning if he hears any new sounds around and be the happiest boy to great you when you come home from work and other outings. We have come a long way with Rebel. He will now go on car rides and likes to look out the window. He will sit at command and has improved on jumping up (still working on this). Unless you have leather shoes he has stopped his chewing, so just keep them out of his reach. He's eager and ready to please his new forever master. While we currently have him in a foster home with a young toddler we think that a home with older kids would be best. He has tender spots we do not touch and we if we do he lets us know he would rather us not, such as his back end and feet. He is a Healer or at least 90% Healer and acts like one! He would love to be your best friend. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Idaho
Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year.

Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog!
