Rescue Me ID: 14-11-26-00209Loca (female)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID What weighs 17 pounds, is 18 months old and the mutt of all mutts? Loca! This cutie is a Beagle/Heeler/Chihuahua mix - or whatever. She is 18 months old and sadly is in search of a new home. Loca found herself at a local shelter, got adopted and now her adoptive family is unable to care for her. Loca loves to play with other cats and dogs. She loves tug of war and fetch, and she loves noisy chew toys and bones. She loves to cuddle and is very affectionate, and she is a very loyal companion. Loca loves to go on walks and to play at the dog park. Loca likes to eat in peace, and doesn't like to ... (Read More)share treats or special toys. Loca dislikes kennel time and being told to stay for long periods of time. These things are easy to work on; she's just a young pup and with some structure and positive reward training all of this is a simple fix. Little Loca comes when you call her name, and she doesn't bark indoors. She is well behaved and mostly leash trained on walks, and she can run alongside a bike. She is very gentle with kids and animals. Loca can also howl/sing on demand; she can be pretty goofy. She will run when given the opportunity so she will need a securely fenced yard and is not an off leash candidate. Loca is vocal when new people come to the home; making sure you know someone new is in the house. She is not consistent with commands, but shows great potential; again she has not had any training in her short life. She struggles with potty training when not reinforced at night, pretty sure most of this is because she does not like cold weather or snow on her belly. A scheduled feeding routine and scheduled potty breaks will take care of this also. Loca really is a lovely, silly little girl who is good with other dogs, kids and adults alike. She has been bounced around a lot in her 18 months and will thrive with some consistency. We would suggest that Loca go to a home with kids over 12; while she is good with kids she tends to get overwhelmed when there is a lot of chaos in the home. If you can offer Loca a stable home life with lots of love, affection and some training please complete an adoption application at: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Loca is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. There is a $40 adoption fee for Loca. (Less)

Weimaraner Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Beau got to go to a new home for the summer. He and his new dog brother were the very best of friends and then something happened. :( All of a sudden the boys didn't get along. So This wonderful family that had taken such good care of him had to bring him back. No one was happy, especially not Beau. We just told him to be happy he had such an awesome summer. Thanks Mindy for bringing him back to us. We will do our very best to find him the perfect home. This boy is about the cutest kid you will ever meet. He's a big goof with tons of personality. He just loves to run and play. He loves his toys and treats and if a toy can't ... (Read More)be found a rock works just fine. :) He's easy to please and seems to be adjusting very well to the routine at ANH. Maybe for the first time, he feels safe, with people who love him, his own bed, and a nice warm place to call home. He just wiggles when he sees a friend to play with and he loves attention. He minds great and wants to be with his people all the time. He does get a little excited at first. We have to make him sit and calm down so he will pay attention. He is neutered, up on all his shots, micro chipped and potty trained. Beau is a 3 year old Weimeraner/German Shorthair Pointer. He needs a fenced yard, an inside home and a active family that loves to have fun. This boy has so much love to give. If you make Beau part of your family, I promise, you will be his world.     Buddy is quite the boy. From the day he came to join the gang, he was a happy, fun loving, well adjusted kid. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This boy is absolutely perfect and as sweet as he is handsome. He loves everyone he meets. He's all puppy and likes all the things puppies love. Toys, chewies, car rides, walks and hugs. He is quiet and very well behaved. He Loves to 'shake paws' and if you aren't totally paying attention he smacks you with a paw, like 'hey I'm here, don't forget I love you and if you need someone to eat those treats, I'm your boy.' :) He is definitely a gentle giant. Clutch is a little thin but we are doing our best to make sure he puts on some weight and is as healthy as he is gorgeous. Clutch is about 2 to 3 years old. He would love to have ... (Read More)an active family and a nice warm spot by the fire. He would do best with a fenced yard. He does like to chase chickens and livestock, but heck when a boy is bored sometimes that happens.     This pretty girl is a heart breaker. We aren't too sure about her past but it hasn't been very happy. She is about two years old and is just learning that people can be kind. She's learning that she will have food and clean water everyday, that she can play with the toys and sleep in her bed and feel safe because she is loved by so many volunteers. She was so timid and scared when she came in. She has a ways to go but she's coming along great. Her vet visit was a good experience for her and her tail wiggled the whole time. Even though she wasn't sure what was going on. Daisy loves bouncy balls and teddy bears. Peanut Butter is ... Chinese Crested    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Caldwell, ID Bald is BEAUTIFUL! Chip, a 5 year old purebred Chinese Crested came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his human could no longer care for him. He is now in search of a new home that knows the breed and that can not only love him with their whole heart but that can care for him in the proper manner. This handsome boy loves to hang out with his foster family and he will curl up on a dog bed next to you or in your lap is his favorite. He is just the sweetest boy, gentle and loving and he likes to give kisses. If you talk to him he will talk right back and tell you all about his day. While he does really like people ... (Read More)his tolerance level is low for kids; so a home with kids 12 and older only please. He is good with other dogs and is being fostered with 3 others; he's been great with all of them; he loves to play chase with them. Chip spent some time in a home with a cat and did fine until the cat gave him a good swat and then he was more interested in the cat. He would do fine with a cat that was dog savvy and played the ignore card. Chip is housetrained with regular potty breaks and is crate trained and is very polite on the leash and when taking a treat. He has excellent house manners and is easy to live with. Chip will do best in a home with someone who is home during the day or is home on and off during the day. Chip is very fast and will require a yard with a fence of at least 5 feet as he is able to jump quite high Chip has some skin issues as most dogs of this breed usually do. When he came to us he was covered in acne and his skin was leathery feeling; however with a change in his diet (grain free only); a good bath and a regular dose of 100% organic coconut oil he is already showing signs of improvement. With the proper care and right food Chips skin will clear up with time. Chip will need to go to a family that knows and understands what this breed needs with regard to his diet and bathing. A home that has had or currently has Cresteds will be considered first for adoption. Chip is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped If you can offer Chip a lifetime of happiness and the special care he needs please fill out the application for him at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and his foster Mom will get back to you quickly. Rescue Me ID: 14-11-13-00282Daisy (female)

Papillon    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Deaf

FOSTER LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID Cuteness ALERT! Cuteness ALERT!! If you don't want cute, sweet, loving and adorable wrapped up in one package then stop reading right now. Daisy is an 8 year old Papillion (possibly purebred) who lived with a senior woman her entire life; when her human was no longer able to care for her she was turned into a shelter. Shelter life is stressful enough for dogs but Daisy is deaf and that makes things that much harder so Fuzzy Pawz Rescue placed her in their foster program. Daisy loves to be wherever her person is and will stick fairly close to you inside the house or out and she loves to go for a ride in ... (Read More)the car with you. She loves to go for a walk and is great on a leash. While Daisy is a total love and an absolute joy she does startle easily; so no kids under 12 please. Daisy is a smart girl and reacts well to hand signals and will thrive if her training continues. It's as easy to train a deaf dog as a hearing dog, the only difference is you use hand signals instead of verbal commands. There are easy tricks to working with deaf dogs; stomping your foot to make the floor vibrate is always a good one and using very smelly treats to attract their attention. Daisy is very food motivated so training is easy. Daisy grew up with another Papillion and is currently living with another dog in her foster home. She gets along with other dogs, as long as they stay out of her face; she's not big on pushy, bossy dogs. She is house trained and will scratch at the door when she is ready to come back inside; we think using a bell on either side of the door would work great for her. You do have to watch her at the front door as she will sometimes try to bolt; but a bit of training on the 'wait' command and that will no longer be an issue. She doesn't get on the furniture unless she is prompted too. She will go in her crate when prompted. Daisy is just a sweet, lovely, loyal little girl who would do best in a home where people are around most of the day. A retired couple would be perfect for her. Daisy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped If you can offer Daisy a lifetime of happiness please fill out the application for her at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and her foster Mom will get back to you quickly. He knows 'sit' & 'down' and though he isn't interested in balls, he is playful with other toys and you. Dante is unresponsive to other dogs and their noise making and stays pretty focused on his handler. He is patient with handling and though he didn't respond to treats, he definitely enjoyed his peanut butter-filled Kong. If you'd like to meet ... Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Lovie, a 3 year old pomchi whose name says it all. This little guy is potty trained but needs a home where his people are home most of the day as he has separation anxiety. He does not tear stuff up but rather just drools uncontrollably. He is about 10lbs, shy at first but warms up pretty fast. He came from a hoarding situation and was found when his owner passed away. He was very food aggressive and nervous, he was adopted from his local shelter twice and returned before a wonderful lady took him home to work with him. She is the best dog I have ever had. 100% potty trained. She will NOT go potty in the house. (I woke up to her trying to climb out my bedroom window one night because she had to go.) She doesn't chew things up. I have a lrash, 25ft. Chain, and a remote controlled training collar that would come with her. And I would buy her food and come visit as ofter as possible. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

Starla is a 4 year old Chihuahua who is quiet and a little timid but seems to enjoy human contact. She will sit quietly in her kennel observing and awaiting her turn to be walked. We are unable to afford any kind of costs regarding her current health issues as we have a baby who has medical issues himself and are bogged down with medical bills. Our vet says that she probably has a couple years at least, and we would rather her spend her last years in a good home than have to put her down. At this point she is being treated for yeast in her ears. The vet has done blood work and she could have diabetes down the road. She might have Cushing's disease. More blood work is needed to determine.

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sweet little Chubby looks like he is a Corgi trapped in a Chihuahua body; making him the cutest dog this side of the Continental Divide. This little man is 7 years old and just a sweet heart. Chubbs takes a little while to feel comfortable with new people and so can be a little stand offish until he gets to know you; he's not mean about it he's just shy. While he loves to be close, he prefers not the center of attention. He likes to follow his foster mom around and sit right next to her but doesn't actually get in her lap very often. This should change over time; once he has a home that is his very own and he ... (Read More)finds that special person who will bring him peace. When we took Chubby from the shelter he was totally in love with one of the workers there and was all over her seeking her attention. This boy didn't have the best of lives and did not grow up learning to be a normal happy, playful dog and sadly never learned how to play with toys. He is however very good with other dogs, having lived with lots of them in the past this isn't surprising. Chubby would probably do best in a household with another dog that he can model behavior after or with an owner that has lots of time to devote to him. He is very quiet in the house and perfectly house trained. While Chubbs is okay with kids he would need to be in a home with children who know to respect his wanting to be left alone at times. Loud, running kids would make him shut down. Chubby also met a cat while he was in the shelter and didn't seem to care about it one way or the other so we think he'd be fine with them. He loves to jump up on the couch and likes to sleep with his doggie friends in your bed. He is a great little traveler, he went to Cascade last weekend and he slept the whole way. Loves to just sit in the car so have to watch just leaving the door open in the garage or he jumps in and falls asleep. Chubby is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped If you can offer Chubby a lifetime of happiness and learning please fill out the application for her at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and her foster Mom will get back to you quickly.     We are a bit puzzled why this hunk of a boxer boy doesn't have his forever home yet... not one application on Tyson. This boy is one of the most easy going, laid back boxer boys we've had. Tyson is 4 years old and before coming to us his life consisted of living outside on a chain. We were told he's not good at this or with this, etc... and once he got here we are scratching our heads saying hmmm did they send us the right boxer cas this boy is just AWESOME. Tank gets along with everybody. He's very respectful of other dog's space - when all the boxers are all crowded up at the door to come in, Tyson will be about 5 steps behind them ... (Read More)patiently waiting. He's not a high energy boxer-you might say he's a little bit lazy as he loves to stretch out in the sun and take long naps or curl up beside you on the couch. He's not to bad of a bed hog-he'll let you have your corner-lol Tyson is housebroken, knows basic commands, and is crate trained although he really doesn't need to be crated--he's not going to get into anything. He likes going on car rides, and walks-pulls a little but is doing much better. Tyson will be your best bud and forever companion. Rescue Me ID: 14-10-11-00214Bella (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bella has a great, mellow temperment and used to live with other dogs and even cats. However, Bella is dog selective and can get in fights with certain dogs, she doesn't seem to get along with dominant females. We feel her ideal home would be where she can thrive as the only dog. Bella is a sweet, cuddly, couch potato...she will need to be loved and adopted into a home where she will be welcomed as part of the family and an inside dog. We prefer her to go to a home with humans who are experienced, and comfortable with the 'pitbull' mix breed. Bella will need a fenced yard to play in. Although Bella has lived with cats, it's unknown if ... (Read More)she is truly compatible with all cats. Bella has only been around adults, so we aren't positive how she would be around children. Older children would probably be ok, but not recommended with younger children. Remember to ALWAYS supervise your children around new pets adopted into the home. A home check will need to be completed prior to final adoption. Thank YOU! (Less)

Personality: High Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Bonnie is my scared girl, she is good with other women and children if she feels she can trust them. She came to me with some serious social anxiety and she is terrified of anything that makes loud noises or banging behind her. She is completely attached and or bonded to her brother and I will not adopt them separately, as her brother is the laid back dog and seems to help her remain calm. She is a sweet girl, she has never bitten anyone or attacked anything, she tends to want to run away from anything threatening. I have not had the time to work with her, I feel she would be a good companion dog with someone who has the patience and time to ... (Read More)train her. She is in good health, she loves being outdoors and playing in the back yard. She does bark/bay more than her brother though. Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Clyde is a lover, I have had him for about 5 years now and absolutely love him. He adores children, is very intuitive and will just sit or lay on your lap if you let him. He is bright, intelligent and loves people, being social and or taking a nap in the sun. He has a deformed front leg joint, which makes it difficult to walk for long distances. He has some arthritis, and is getting older, so the cold mornings and evenings are hard on his joints. He is bonded to his sister, Bonnie.

Westie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Kimberly, ID Cece is an adorable 2 year old West Highland Terrier mix who found herself at a shelter, got adopted, then returned after 6 months because the owner said she would not stop pottying in the home. Well 2 days in a Fuzzy Pawz foster home and that is no longer an issue - all Cece needed was someone to be patient with her and she was happy to do whatever they wanted. She gets along great with other dogs and is a little shy around cats. She seems like she wants to play with the cat in her foster home, but as soon as the cats make eye contact, she runs away. Cece LOVES a good game of fetch in the backyard! Cece ... (Read More)is very loyal to her foster family, but very shy towards strangers; it takes her a bit of time to warm up to someone new. She doesn't like loud noises or sudden moves and if you reach for her quickly and she doesn't see you she will snap at you. This girl appears to have been treated roughly by human hands at some point in her life. Because of this no children under 15 in the home please; she would do best in a quiet, calm home where she can be lavished with love. She will always let you know if someone is knocking on the door; she is very alert to the comings and goings of the house. Cece is house trained if you remember to take her out and also crate trained; she will stay in her crate all night without a peep. Her foster family has been making sure to take her out on a schedule and it is working with a charm; Cece has never figured out how to signal that she needs to go out. If you are looking for a dog that will cuddle with you and fall asleep on your lap; a companion in the car/rv/etc she is the girl for you! Cece will take a bit of time to adjust to a new family but once she settles she is your best friend for life. Cece is spayed, microchipped and current on all vaccinations. Cece was also recently groomed. There is a $100 adoption fee for Cece. If you would like to meet Cece in person please fill out an adoption application and her foster mom will contact you: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ (Less)

Boxer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi I'm Cooper I'm a bit confused why I don't have my forever home ~ my foster momma says I'm 56 lbs of pure fun & sweetness, so that's good, right? I'm no troublemaker. I was taught to have good boxer manners and I know most all of those basic command things. My foster momma has been teaching me the ones I don't and I get so excited about learning new things that sometimes she has to remind me to settle down. That's not hard to do though cas I listen pretty good and I'll go lay down on my bed when you tell me too. I actually kinda like my bed~ I take my naps on my bed. I'm pretty smart and don't miss a thing. I like to hang out with my ... (Read More)people and watch everything that's going on. I'm always ready to go anywhere with you. I think an active family that will include me in their activities would be the best cas I've got lots and lots of energy. Maybe I can go running with you. I just love to play-A LOT. I've been known to be a little OCD fanatic over my tennis balls-I just can't help myself-those tennis balls are just awesome and I will go run after them for as long as you can keep throwing them for me. I'm not allowed to have my tennis ball except when you play with me though. I kinda accidentally ate one. I think it was maybe cas I was bored-see us boxer boys with lots of energy have to get lots of exercise or we get bored and try to find things to do that usually get us in trouble. If you have other doggies, that's ok cas I get along with everybody. It would be fun to have a fur sister or brother to run and play with. I also like the little ones but when I get too excited I might forget they are there and knock them over-they don't seem to stand up very good sometimes. I go do my potty business outside and if you just have to put me in the crate I get a little anxiety and scared but I can calm down pretty fast. Please don't leave me in there for very long. If you will let me I love to cuddle with my people at night and don't take up too much of the bed. I really am a good boxer boy (most of the time). Ok sometimes if my people leave food right where I can reach it, the temptation is just too much and I might give in. Shhh don't tell my foster momma but the empty bread bag she found, I confess, it was me. I will work real hard to resist the temptation. So what do you think? Huh do you think I can go home? I promise I will be your best friend and give you lots of love forever and ever. That is a whole lot of love! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Idaho
Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year.

Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog!
