Rescue Me ID: 17-06-24-00469Ox (male)

Chihuahua    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ox is 8 months old, 9 lbs, up to date on shots (will come with vet paperwork) and is potty trained and crate trained. He is good in the bath and will let you clip his nails with no problem. He also knows sit, lay down, shake, come, leave it and will stay near you and not run off. He is also very good on a leash. He is extremely sweet, loves to cuddle with you while you sit and watch t.v, and will sleep under the blanket with you every night. He likes going for car rides, loves the park and lake, and is an all around great little dog with a fun, sweet and happy personality. He is wonderful with children, other dogs, cats and people of all ... (Read More)ages. He does not have any real behavioral problems other than barking/growling when he hears someone at the door, but with reassurance, quickly ceases. The reason we are rehoming him, is no fault of his own. We have had to move in with my mom while my partner is in school, and her dog is highly aggressive towards him. We keep them separated since she has attacked him before, but he is just so scared all the time... If he even suspects that she is near, he will cower and growl... It is a miserable life for him and we just want what is best for our boy. He has become very timid since we moved.. So he will NOT go to anyone who is heavy handed or believes in any dominance nonsense. He is a sensitive dog, who was treated poorly by his breeder before we got him, and he will only go to someone who believes in positive reinforcement. He is a happy dog, and it took a lot to get him that way. His new owner must also whole-heartedly agree NOT to breed him and to get him neutered as soon as possible. He came from a bad breeder who lied about health testing and already shows signs of weak knees, so please keep him lean as too much weight will most likely strain them and cause issues down the road. He would love an owner who has plenty of time for him, and will take him for walks, hikes, or other adventures. He will have an adoption fee of $150 which will include him, tons of toys, collars, leashes, clothes, food, bowl, treats, chews and anything else of his that I can find. He has been very spoiled and well taken care of, and I expect his new home to keep it that way. Please EMAIL or TEXT ONLY. Please NO calls. (Less)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This young man is such a clown. He is all about having fun. He loves kids, balls, toys, teddy bears, and mouse hunting. He loves the water so a beach or a pool would be super awesome. :) He loves having regular meals. He doesn't ever have to wonder when his next dinner time will be. He was so thin when he came in and seemed so sad. Now he is a happy, playful, healthy boy. He has been great with the other dogs and would like a canine companion. We are working on potty training and he is learning but It will just take some patience. He does know how to use a doggie door so that makes training pretty easy. He does have an ...     I will never understand how someone can have a wonderful pet and leave them behind when they move. For heck sakes, at least try to find your sweet pet a good home. :( Leaving them tied to their dog house while you drive away is absolutely disgusting. Luckily Manni had a neighbor watching over him who called us to help. We are very happy to have this little man as one of our gang. Believe me he loves us too. Manni is such a good boy. He has the cutest personality and is very well behaved. He loves attention and does everything he can to please. He is learning a few basic commands but seriously he just seems to know what he ... He is neutered, up on vaccinations and micro chipped. He might need just a little work on potty training but he has mastered the doggie door. Manni is an 18 month old Border Collie Lab mix and super cute. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or Dani 208 241 5538 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. Manni wanted me to say, He's a good boy and didn't deserve to be left behind. He promises he would be loyal and loving forever. He wants to be his new families special boy. Border Collie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm very sad I need to re-home my border collie, Neo. He is not getting along with our goats (and that's our business). Positives: He is very smart, 4 year old dog fully trained in obedience and some agility. He is an excellent runner and has gone as far as 18 miles with me. He runs off leash and responds to voice commands. He is up to date in all shots, neutered, house trained, micro chipped, and athletic. I just took him to Rattlesnake Avoidance Training and had the rattlesnake vaccine administered. Negatives: He is food possessive, and he is afraid of cars and small children if they run up to him. A good home for him would be one ... (Read More)where he is the only dog, no small children, and outdoorsy. $450 rehoming fee. I would be happy to know he's going to a good home. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00192Johnny (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Johnny recently arrived at MCR after being transferred by Annie's Rescue Ride from Phoenix, Arizona. Here's what we know: 'HISTORY: Johnny was brought into the county pound after being found as a stray. This poor little dog has gone through a lot in his 5 years. His ear is permanently torn because of an untreated wound and he had an untreated fracture in his back leg so he walks with a stiff gait. PERSONALITY: Johnny is a sweet little guy. He loves to give kisses, and cuddle with you while you sleep. However, being a Chihuahua, when you push him to do something he doesn't want to do, he will snap. He usually did this to me when I picked him ... (Read More)up while sleeping. Other than that issue, Johnny is a very good dog. He is quiet and likes other small dogs. TRAINING: Johnny is mostly housebroken, but he is a heavy marker. He was just neutered and he was living in my house with lots of male dogs, so that might have been the reason for his heavy marking. He is not food aggressive but is very protective of his treats. THINGS TO WORK ON: Johnny is a door dasher and he is constantly trying to find ways to escape the yard. He can snap when challenged so I would not place him with children. He is a bit nervous in the car but settles down after a while. He wants to go on walks but he is not used to the leash and scares easily when outside. Overall, Johnny is a great little dog. Because of his hard life he can be shy and a bit nervous at first. He needs some who can spoil him rotten and spend a lot of time with him since he loves being around people. Once he knows he can trust you, he loves and adores you.' (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00188Paco (male)

Pomeranian Mix    Age: Senior

Paco is another recent arrival from Phoenix, Arizona. We're told that this guy is about 10 years old, but he is definitely still young at heart. Paco is dog-friendly. But he's a little too friendly sometimes, if you know what we mean. Still, we think Paco would love to have other doggie friends who wouldn't mind his amorous ways. Paco is good with older kids (we're not sure about younger kids), and he's both house- and crate-trained. Here's more info from his previous rescue: Paco was surrendered to the county pound along with his buddy, Molly. I believe their owner died. The volunteers at the shelter told me he was part of a bonded pair ... (Read More)with Molly. However, after observing them myself and getting feedback from their foster mom, we believe they are NOT bonded. Personality: Happy, friendly, sweet boy--- a bit hyper and doesn't like to be held much. Training: For the most part, Paco seems to be housebroken. His foster mom kept him penned up most of the time, so it is hard to tell for certain if he is completely housebroken. He was around a child who was about 8 years old, and he was fine. Overall, Paco is very sweet, a bit nervous, but mostly a great dog. Health: Nothing to note Things to work on: He is a heavy marker (but he was in a household with many dogs.) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00169Sweetie (female)

Lhasa Apso Mix    Age: Young Adult

This 2-3 year old lady arrived from Phoenix, AZ after being transferred between a couple of rescues. We learned that she had previously needed to be handled with leather arm gloves and that rescuers worked with her for several months to overcome what they described as 'ptsd.' Here's what we've seen: a little pup whose name 'Sweetie' belies a scared but sometimes sassy personality. She will growl to warn off people she doesn't know or trust from approaching her kennel. With people she does trust, she will happily accept your food, retreat, come to the front of the kennel, retreat, then maybe hop on your lap for a walk -- but maybe not. Once ... (Read More)she's outside, she's much happier, wagging her tail and looking for attention. Still, we're looking for a savvy handler to adopt Sweetie and continue to work with her on her behaviors. We don't have a whole lot of information on this girl's temperament yet. We haven't tested her with other dogs very much, but she seems to be fine with dogs who are about her size. Because of her behaviors, we'd recommend a home with older children. She does try to keep her kennel clean here, and she does walk fairly well on a leash. Sweetie just needs a person who will earn her trust, provide structure and stability, and teach her how to behave around people. (Less)

Molly (and her friend Paco) came all the way from from Arizona to Idaho to find her forever family. She is 10 years young, but she acts much younger. Good with dogs and kids and housetrained, Molly would fit in well with most families. Here's more info: History: Molly was surrendered to the county pound along with her buddy, Paco. I believe their owner died. The volunteers at the shelter told me she was part of a bonded pair with Paco. However, after observing them myself and getting feedback from their foster mom, we believe they are NOT bonded. Personality: Happy, friendly, sweet girl. Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00135Obi Wan (male)

Scottish Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Obi Wan! This 1-2 year old cutie pie is looking for a new family to teach him some good life skills. Obi Wan found himself in need of a new home because he's not good with other dogs or with young children and because he needs help with basic obedience. But he's been a total doll here. He is reactive to dogs in this environment, though he's certainly not the worst we've seen. Obi will come to the front of his kennel, eagerly go outside for some play time in the yard or a nice long walk, and give you lots of kisses and tail wags in exchange for your attention. He is young, bright, and eager to please. We're looking for a mature family ... (Read More)who will help Obi improve his social skills.     Here's Lulu! Ready to run? Ready to play? Got a ball? OK. Let's go! Lulu has energy to spare, and she is ready to have a blast with you this summer. This 2-3 year old loves to play with toys. Her favorite past-time is fetch. So, um, seriously, would you like to play with her? Lulu is great with kids but not so great with any other animals. She is house-trained, and while she keeps her kennel clean here, she is not so fond of crates in a home setting. Lulu will try to pull anything nearby through the bars of the crate, so her new family will need to be aware of that potential challenge. She is friendly, outgoing, and excited to meet new ... Rescue Me ID: 17-06-08-00219Sable (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Are you smiling? Because if you aren't, Sable will turn that frown upside down in two seconds flat. He is the world's happiest dog. His bright energy is totally infectious, and we've been grinning from ear to ear ever since he arrived. Sable is about a year old and made a long trip, with a few stops, to MCR this past weekend. He was previously in a shelter in Kansas and became stressed out. This poor baby was quite a mess, and an amazing foster family stepped up to care for him. He will occasionally bark at people he doesn't know, but after, oh, half a second or so, he's ready to be best friends. And nobody can say no to having a BFF like ... (Read More)Sable. Cats, dogs, horses -- everyone falls in love with his dreamy personality. Sable behaved beautifully around all kinds of other animals at his Kansas foster home, and he has been absolutely polite and friendly to the critters he's met here. His foster mom, Lisa, shared a few notes: 'Sable is a dream companion! He is an energetic, affectionate, friendly dog, full of fun and ready to play. Sable is probably a little over a year old, and still has some puppy mannerisms to grow out of, primarily learning not to jump up on people. He does not dig, or try to jump out of a fence. He is super friendly to every dog he meets on a walk, does not bark at any dog going by, and is totally non-reactive to cats, squirrels, ducks. He walks calmly on a leash until he sees something interesting, and then he may lunge after it, but he gets over it quickly. He is a strong dog, and might be best in a house without small kids. Sable has lots of enthusiasm and loves to play ball! He would love a playmate, but will love just being with you as well. Can he come play with you?' One other note: Sable's bubbly personality got the better of him while he was at the shelter in Kansas. His 'happy tail' was a little too happy, and he needed to have part of his tail amputated. When you see his fierce little wiggles, you'll understand why his poor tail fell victim to his happiness. We're sorry he went through that, but we all agree his nub makes him more adorable -- if that's even possible. Call us at 208-794-0944 if you'd like to schedule a meet-and-greet. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-08-00216Tigger (male)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

We've fallen hard for this guy, and we bet you will, too. Here's Tigger, a 3-4 year old recent transfer from Utah. And here's his story: Tigger was found near St George, stuck in a coyote trap -- the kind that gets tighter and tighter around the neck. He was emaciated and near death when another shelter was called out. Shelter workers had to cut the trap out of his neck, and they set about nursing him back to health. He has some scars, but he was neutered and healed when he was adopted out to a woman with children. He did very well with her kids, and the woman loved him. Unfortunately, after her life circumstances changed, she surrendered ... (Read More)him back to the shelter. Tigger's former guardian said that he would 'eat the walls' if left alone, so he may need some help with separation anxiety. We have not noticed a problem here, though. His guardian also said that he was good with little dogs but not big; however, the reports are confusing. The shelter took him to an adoption event, where he did great with other dogs, but apparently a shelter volunteer was out walking him one day when he 'viciously attacked a weiner dog.' We're told that the dog had a cow bell on and that the noise may have bothered him. Apparently, Tigger also jumped a 6 foot fence one day while a shelter worker was bathing Clark (large male), and the two dogs did not fight at all. We suspect that Tigger is selective and will need help with slow introductions. But here's what we know for sure: Tigger is a sweetheart. He is calm. He is mellow. He is friendly with everyone he meets, though he does seem a little shy and reserved at first. Tigger's ears are very yeasty, but he tolerates cleaning and treatment like a champ. He rides in a car well. He walks on a leash well. He is simply one of the most well-behaved dogs around this place. And we love him. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-08-00211Clark (male)

Border Collie Mix    Age: Young Adult

When you meet Clark, you need to do two things: (1) sit down, and (2) rub his belly. Then you're golden. Clark is a professional belly rub recipient. Few things in this world could make him any happier -- in fact, we haven't found anything yet. Clark is the sweetest, most endearing fella you've ever met, provided that you meet him outside of his kennel. In the kennel environment, Clark is a wild child. He just wants attention, so he is constantly barking and jumping and pacing. This 3-4 year old was recently transferred from a shelter in southern Utah, where he had waited for over 6 months (!) for a family. He became increasingly ... (Read More)kennel-stressed there, and we're hoping that the change in scenery will give him the home he's always wanted. Here's what we were told: 'He came from a home for barking because he lived his whole 4 years outside with no attention at all. The owner said he was good with kids, dogs, and cats. He was OK with dogs at first, and he had a female best friend who got adopted, but in the end he got where he was not good with dogs anymore. Once out of the kennel, he is a good boy and great on a leash. He is just craving affection and lonely. '| Clark can come off so obnoxious in his kennel because he is dying to be loved. The second you put a leash on him, he is a whole new dog. His fur was terrible from living outside his whole life, and I was trying to bathe him a lot and feed him coconut oil to get him soft. His paws were getting sore from being at the shelter for so long. He LOVES to go on long walks to the river or just anywhere, but we don't have the volunteers to take him every day or even every week sometimes. He is selective about his canine friends, but he'd be fantastic in the right home with older kids or no kids and maybe hikers or active young people.' Feel free to come meet Clark at the Rescue during our adoption hours. (Less)

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sweet Pip is a timid, adorable little Min Pin. The vet estimates that she is around a 1 year old, she loves to play like a puppy. This adorable little girl has had a rough go of it the past few months but she has come out on top! Pip has recently recovered from both Parvo and from Mange; she is healthy now (though is still growing back some tufts of hair) and ready to find her new family. Pip is very smart and is always making her foster humans smile and laugh. She has the sweetest little face, and even though she is a little timid, it is clear how much she just wants to love and be loved. Pip takes a while to ... (Read More)warm up to humans but immediately was comfortable with the four other dogs in her foster home. She loves to follow them around and within minutes figured out how to use the dog door, find the toy bucket and beg for treats! She loves to play with her foster pack, and spends hours wrestling and chasing a similarly aged pup. The presence of the other dogs helped her to overcome much of her timidness and trust her foster humans. But don't let her initial reaction to strangers fool you, Pip is full of life and LOVES to play. She could entertain herself for hours with a good toy and has been known to do so in the middle of the night. She loves a good head and neck rub (seriously, she closes her little eyes and looks so happy). With Pip it is all about patience and letting her feel like she is ready for you to give her that attention that she adores. She frequently tucks her tail under and runs away, even after running up to greet you. But don't worry, a minute later once she feels braver she comes around for her rubs and cuddles. Pip will need another playful/friendly dog that could help with her confidence. She needs a home that is willing to be patient and gentle with her as she learns to trust and become less skittish. A home without children under 15 is a requirement. This girl has been diagnosed with chronic dry eye and will need eye drops 2-3 times a day possibly for life. The drops cost about $50 a month depending on where you buy them they could be a bit less. Pip is spayed, current on shots and has a microchip Pip's adoption fee is $100 If you have the patience and the heart to invest in a sweet little shy dog Pip would love to join your family and make you laugh yourself silly. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Gorgeous Kilo was transferred to MCR from a shelter in Utah. He had previously been adopted and returned due to health problems. (His health has since been excellent.) The previous adopter reports that Kilo was reactive to other dogs while on leash and that he would jump and nip at children's hands if they were holding anything. Here at MCR, we have noted that Kilo is reactive in the kennel environment. He has met another dog and behaved fairly well, though he is tense when the other dog wants to sniff him. For now, we're recommending a home without other animals or small children -- just to be safe. Kilo is a lover once he's out of the ... (Read More)kennel. He barks for attention (or treats! those are good, too), and he wants nothing more than to soak up the love and pets while you're outside. Melanie came to us as a stray so we do not have previous history on her but what we do know is that she knows 'sit' and walks pretty well on a leash if she is wearing her Easy Walk harness! We are recommending that Melanie goes to a home with older kids due to her size and her tendency to guard her food and rawhide snacks. We are unsure yet how she feels about other dogs, and she was pretty intense meeting our office cat, so we don't feel a home with cats would be a good thing for her. Melanie would be an ... (Read More)excellent outdoor adventuring dog and is looking for a home that can provide her with a lot of exercise and some basic training! We will update you as we learn more about this amazing girl! Stop in today to meet Melanie! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-25-00217Duffy (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Welcome to Idaho, Duffy! We're so happy to meet you. Duffy is an approximately 9 month old male puppy, who also happens to be fully deaf. He was transferred to us from Utah, where he had previously lived with a foster/trainer who works with a shelter there. Duffy is fully vetted and ready for his forever home. Read on for more information from his former foster dad: 'Here's just some key observations I made during my time with Duffy that will hopefully allow for a smooth transition into a rescue center/forever home. Duffy is fully housebroken...if he's let out to relieve himself. He likes to be watched when he does his business so he knows ... (Read More)he's safe. We have been working on crate training as well, and he loves the comfort of his crate at night (I leave it open but he still chooses to sleep in it where he has his own space). I leave him free to roam the house during the day and he has not had any accidents in recent weeks. His powerful nose has led him into the garbage on more than one occasion, but a stern hand signal has showed him right from wrong. We have been hiking and going to the dog park almost every day, he is great off-leash and would rather find himself next to you than minding the other dogs. Duffy highly enjoys the company of other dogs, and I would recommend going into a home that has dogs -- he is very anxious when left alone and tends to become destructive. I have found that Duffy absolutely loves children and kids. Also, please be CAUTIOUS: Duffy loves to chase moving cars and will not hesitate to run into the road. I've found it quite difficult to take him on leash walks through the neighborhood. In the right environment -- dog park, hiking trail, open field -- he is completely fine on/off leash. We have been training hand signals and Duffy is responding well to the positive reinforcement. A simple thumbs up is *good boy* and a strong pointing index finger is *no - bad dog* A finger pointing to your nose is a command I like to call *Look at me* When I was training my first deaf dog, this was fundamental in ensuring her safety and allowing her to be off leash. When this is trained, the dog will respond by stopping everything they're doing and making eye contact with you to receive further instruction. After consistent training, it will become habit for the dog to always check in and make eye contact. P.S. Duffy loves to snuggle.' Duffy was previously surrendered to that shelter several times for not doing well with any small animals or with young children. He likes to herd and would do better in a home with older kids and with dogs his own size. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00370Ozzy (male)

Basenji Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Ozzy is a three-year-old Basenji/Chihuahua/Cattle Dog (best guess); who weighs in a a slim and trim 25 pounds. He was one of 23 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation in Owyhee County by a local shelter. This background has presented a few challenges with him but he is making great progress and is quite the entertaining little guy. He didn't receive much training or human interaction in his previous home, so it does take him a while to trust a new human but he's making great progress and gets braver each day. Taking him for a nice walk has proven to be a great way to make friends with Ozzy and of course ... (Read More)offering up so yummy treats. Build a bond of trust with him and he will be your best friend forever. He loves to snuggle with his foster mom (and the other dogs) after a long day of play in the yard. This little man is great on leash and enjoys going out for walks and playing chase in the backyard. Ozzy is an active and playful dog despite being spooked easily. Ozzy lives with three other dogs and 4 cats in his foster home, and they have him helped tremendously. He needs to go to a home with a happy-go-lucky, confident dog(s); he will not do well as the only dog in the household. Ozzy will need a special home that is anxiety aware and has a lot of patience. He has been taken from one world and into another, and despite his new life having lots of love, it's all new to him. He does like to burrow and hide in confined spaces, like under the couch or behind a shed. With time and trust he will forgo that habit as long as he has a stable, consistent home. Ozzy finds security in his crate at night and should he be feeling overwhelmed so his new home needs to make sure he has access to one. He needs a securely fenced yard (6') and he will require supervision until he is settled. Ozzy doesn't know any commands at this time but he is 100% house trained! He needs a consistent and safe environment that can let his true loyal and cuddly personality shine. Ozzy will bond to his new family given a bit of time but will need a home with no children (under 15) and someone willing and able to give him the time and reassurance he needs. You won't be sorry love, patience and gentle guidance and the sky is the limit for this lovely boy. If you can be the one who completes Ozzy's life the please apply for him today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Ozzy is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00163Dexter (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

'Can I tell you a secret? I love you already!!!' Dexter has got to be one of the happiest dogs we've ever had. His little happy feet tap dance the second we walk into his room. He can barely contain his excitement when we approach his kennel, and his beautiful baby eyes look at us as if to say, 'Come here. Can I tell you a secret? I love you already!' Well, Dexter, we love you, too. When Dexter enters the play yard, it's time for zoomies. And zoomies. And more zoomies. He will pause long enough for some back scratches and a full body hug or two, then he's back at play bowing, tap dancing, and zooming his handsome little body all around the ... (Read More)place. You can't see him in action and *not* smile. Actually, you can't even meet him without smiling. We dare you to try. Those happy feet get us every time. At about 3 years of age, Dexter is still a young one who has overcome some of his puppy habits but not others. He will jump up for attention and he certainly has energy to spare. But his sheer exuberance is a personality trait, and we don't see that fading away anytime soon. Dexter arrived from California and is fully vetted and ready for a home now. We have yet to test him with other dogs but we're told that he is not good with cats. Because of his size and energy level, we suspect that he would do better in a home with older kids, so you're welcome to bring the whole family in to meet him. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00159Dean (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Dearest Dean has developed quite the Facebook following. Rescuers and dog lovers banded together to save this guy from a shelter in California, and he was moved to a boarding facility to await rescue placement. When we saw pictures and videos of him, we couldn't help but say yes. Dean arrived at MCR last Saturday. We've gotten to know him during his week-long hold, and we can tell you one thing for sure: Dean is a charming fellow. He is a gentleman, through and through, acting polite and friendly once he gets to know you. He's easy to handle and to walk on a leash, and he hasn't shown any fear since he arrived. Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00146Prince (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

This Prince of thieves has stolen our hearts. Here's why: He will frolic and pounce after a toy '| for about 3 seconds. Then he'll go after another toy, bounding like a happy little puppy '| for about 3 more seconds. His attention span may be lacking, but he makes up for it in sheer dorky enthusiasm. He has the most horrendously cropped ears. No dog should have to go through that and we feel terribly that his were done this way. It's absolutely not his fault that somebody did that to him, so it makes us feel for him all the more. He is friendly and loving to every single person he's met so far. This guy would appreciate some scratches ... (Read More)and rubs any moment of the day, and we're happy to oblige. He shares our love of the beautiful Idaho spring sunshine.     Kalina pronounced (kl I na it means little one in german.) She is quite small is 2 years old purebred and is the sweetest of girls. She is very submissive and just wants to be loved at all times. I do not have the time or space to devote to her. She had a small 2 pup litter accidental pregnancy. The problem now is she is constantly taking food and other things off the counter, from kids when you are not in the room, and her personality does not fit here either. Jack Russell Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID Sasha the Jack Russel mix is a cuddle bug; she likes to sit right on your lap and sleep under the covers with you. This girl is a dream! At only 11 months old she is full of spunk and a ton of fun. When not cuddled up with you she loves to walk; walking, tug of war and cuddling are her favorite activities. She has a little bit of separation anxiety but calms down after a few minutes and just chews on her toy; with a stable home life and a good routine this should subside. She is good on leash and loves to see new people and dogs; everyone is a new best friend to meet. At 11 months old she is still a puppy and ... (Read More)will need someone to continue to train her. She is house trained 90% of the time and has never gone potty in her crate; she does know how to use a dog door. With a good routine she will be house trained in no time. She has no food aggression but does knock other dogs out of the way for treats (she will need someone to teach her to wait her turn if she is in a house with other dogs). Also because she is so snappy with treats we require no kids under 6 please; she could snap little fingers trying to get to a treat. Sasha is a cat chaser; so far she's never caught one but we aren't willing to take a risk that she will hurt one so her new home must have no cats. This spunky girl will need a doggy buddy in her new home; a fun loving, playful dog that will romp with her would be best. She loves to play with other dogs and gets frustrated if she doesn't get enough play time which can lead to destructive behavior. If you can offer adorable little Sasha a home full of hugs, walks and play time , please complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Sasha is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped There is a $125 adoption fee for Sasha (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-19-00240Ruby (female)

Pit Bull    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Ruby is an approximately 1 year old petite 41lb female Pit Bull who has had a rough start in life and is looking for her forever family to take her for daily walks, provide plenty of love, belly rubs and snuggles, and teach her the world is an OK place. Ruby is housetrained and has good house manners, laying in her dog bed when asked and following you around to help with household chores when you let her. Who knew folding socks could be so interesting? Ruby loves going for her daily walks and is great on a harness (and will even sneak a kiss in when you put her harness on). Ruby's background is unknown, all we ... (Read More)know is that she appears to have been picked up as a stray a couple times. Walks are a great adventure full of learning new sights and sounds and being comfortable around new things. She also jogs and rides next to the bicycle in her harness well. Ruby will need a 6' fenced secure yard. She loves to play in the backyard with a Frisbee or tennis ball and get her zoomies out and a few more belly rubs in - and who can resist when she flops down at your feet and starts wiggling around on her back, snorting like a little piggy! Ruby would love to be the only dog in a home so she can be the center of attention and receive all the love, pets, and snuggles you can give her in return for lots of kisses and body wiggles. Ruby currently lives in her foster home with a 54lb male Pitty who is submissive to her, but Ruby will not be a 'dog park' dog as she can be reactive to some dogs and as such is selective of her dog friends. Ruby has not been tested with cats, but she would probably be best in a home without cats due to her high prey drive. Ruby has not been around kids in her foster home, and she would probably be best in a home with no kids, however older kids (12+) may be OK - she is still an energetic puppy who could knock someone down if they were not paying attention. Ruby is crate trained. She enjoys Kongs and Nylabone chewies in a large, secure kennel when her foster parents are away, and at night Ruby will run right in to her kennel in the bedroom when it is time for bed. Ruby knows basic commands such as sit, down, leave-it, and come. She also knows 'look' to look at you in the eyes, 'kennel' to go in her crate, 'bed' to go to her doggie bed, and is working on 'paw' for shake. She is spayed and update to date on her vaccinations. Ruby is a young dog who really wants to please and have a stable home - while her past may be a mystery, one thing is known: Ruby has a never ending supply of kisses, snuggles, and snorts to give out to her forever family that will shower her in love, patience, learning, and affection. If you feel you can offer this lovely girl the forever loving home she deserves, please complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $100 adoption fee for Ruby (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-09-00084Ruger (male)

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Senior

A 9 year old retiree, Ruger found himself at another Idaho shelter without a home to spend his golden years. We were more than happy to take him in and begin the search for an adopter. Ruger has lived in a foster home for the past week but he is now available for adoption at the Rescue. Foster mom, Shirley, says, 'Ruger is doing wonderful, he is a gentle pup and gets along well with my dog. You can tell he has been trained, if you call (in most cases) he will come, sometimes his nose is working on a smell. If you tell him no he stops whatever he was doing (like trying to get on the couch), he now knows he doesn't get on the furniture. He has ... (Read More)had a bath and looks and smells great. He sleeps or rests on his blankets, something for his new owners should know, lay them down where you want him to (his space) and that is where he will lay. He has not used the kennel at all since he has been here, I have a blanket at the end of my bed and that is where he sleeps, and he sleeps all night. We did discover he cannot be in a house with a cat, he is a trained coon dog and reacted accordingly, which is too bad because this family friend (we brought him with us because they wanted to see him) fell in love with him. We were there two hours before he noticed the cat on the back of the couch and went after him, it took two of us to get him under control. He was not violent at all, but any small animal in the house would not be safe (hamsters etc).' (Less)

Rhodesian Ridgeback    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed

Luna is a 21 month old Thai Ridgeback. She is around 43 lbs and is current on all vaccinations. She unfortunately doesn't get along with our smaller dog and therefore must be rehomed. She's very leery of strangers and can be aggressive towards other dogs. She would excel with someone who is older that stays home, has no young children or other dogs. @Once she gets to know someone she is very sweet and has such a fun loving personality. She is also extremely intelligent and learns things quickly. Will not ship animal since she is very sensitive to change and is easily scared.     Watson is a smart and loyal companion, who is excited about people and exploring. I have had him for 7 years, but I am relocating to an area that does not allow me to bring him along. He is a very fast learner, and while not currently trained for a leash or jumping, he was at one time. He deserves someone who will give him exercise every day, and who will give him as much attention as he wants. He does have an anxious disposition at times, which is greatly relieved by exercise. Please call me if you can love my Dog Watson.

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)

Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations, Abused/Neglected

Andrew was found as a terrified stray who tried to bite anyone who got near him, but as soon as he got out of the shelter environment, he warmed up to his female rescuer. It became quickly clear that he had been abused by a man, but with careful work, he has learned to trust that men won't hurt him. He is very playful and good with other dogs, if a bit dominant. Getting neutered would cool his jets some. Andrew has a funny personality, but loves to cuddle after the playtime is over.

Max is a very sweet boy. I found him 10 years ago when he was probably 6 months old. He was very skinny, you could count every bone on him. He was also very scared around men. We nursed him back to health. He is a happy dog but i live in an apartment and i just dont have the backyard or play area he needs. For an old man he sure has a lot of energy. He has issues being left at home alone and does better if he has a friend. He knows how to sit, shake, high five and roll over with the right amount of encouragement. Please help me find his forever home, i really dont want to take him to the humane society.

No catagory for Akbash If you are looking for a gorgeous girl to keep you company, be your very best friend and be super loyal, Tausha is your girl. Another bonus she will keep you in shape. She likes to be chased around until she darn well feels like coming in (HaHa) She is so pretty and so soft and she can be so sweet. Then she gets a little mischievous twinkle in her eye, puts her head down and her tail up and away she goes. Makes us a little crazy but she sure is beautiful when she's running free. We wouldn't expect anything less. She is an Akbash and she is acting exactly the way an Akbash should act. She is ... (Read More)protective, loyal but definitely has an attitude. She is strong willed but would love to have a family. She loves to be brushed and snuggled. She is great with male dogs but not females. She is not good with kitties or chickens. She loves children and would be a fabulous babysitter. She plays ball only when she wants to but she always loves a squeaky toy. :) That's the puppy in her still. When I was reading about Akbash this paragraph made me laugh because it is so Taush. 'An Akbash has a strong independent nature, it thinks twice upon receiving commands. Not recommended for the first time dog owners. Companion dog owners should be prepared to spend a fair amount of money on good fencing and a lot of time on socialization and maintaining the human pack leader status over the dog. The Akbash dog needs a firm, but calm, confident. consistant owner. ' Taush is about 2 years old. She is spayed, up on all her vaccinations, and micro chipped. Because she is becoming blind, it would be best that she was in a furever home with older children/no children. You can imagine how difficult it is to process the energy and imposition of young children if you are sight challenged? Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Arthritis

FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID Sweetie is a 12 year old Husky/Shepherd mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz from a local shelter after living with 20+ other dogs in a hoarding situation. Sweetie deserves to be spending her senior years in a home, not a shelter so we placed her in one of our foster homes and now she is ready to find someone to love her and cherish her for the rest of her life. This pretty girl is an easy keeper and is looking for a quieter home that she will happily share with other animals. She is good with most other dogs and we are told she is also fine with cats. She will however not put up with much nonsense form a hyper dog so ... (Read More)we'd suggest a calmer quieter dog or no dog at all. If a dog is to hyper and pushy Sweetie will hide and tremble; so only a calm, easy going dog is going to work for her. She has nice house manners, is house trained and we haven't seen any bad habits from her yet. And she is smaller than average weighing in at just 48 pounds! She can become a bit disoriented when out for walks, so a home with a fenced yard that she can safely hang out in would be ideal. Sweetie does pose a flight risk as she has been known to bolt out the front door or open fence gate. Sweetie can be fairly aloof with some people but when she clicks she clicks hard. She does seem to be more comfortable around women She recently had a full vet work up including x-rays and the only thing they found was some slight arthritis in her hind quarters. Due to her age we ask that no kids under 12; a calm quiet home environment would be best. Sweetie is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $50.00. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00298Azula (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Adult

Meet Azula. This beautiful lady has lived a lot of life in her 5-6 short years. We decided to take her in when we found out her story. Here it is: 'Azula has been in and out of our shelter many times in the past years. Sadly her owner was not very responsible and she lived in a drug house and her owner was shot and killed in a drug deal about a month ago. We're guessing Azula has been through a lot. Azula has been with another dog at our shelter and did ok but did show some resource guarding, we think with her strength and past, she might do best being an only dog but that could possible change with the right dog. She is a beautiful, strong ... (Read More)girl, seems to like the company of people and the staff at the shelter she is coming from would always bring her into the office to visit with everyone. She gets really into playing with her toys and LOVES to chew on bones. She enjoys walks but needs a strong hand. Azula is house trained, we believe her to be approximately 5 years old.' When she arrived, we figured a serious play session was in order. Azula immediately went through every single toy in our play area, romping and rolling around, and happily chewing the squeakers out of the biggest toys in the bin. A few stuffed toys may or may not have been destroyed, but who cares? We'd say she deserves to be carefree and playful for a while. Don't you agree? (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Our newest stud muffin, Duke, arrived from Kansas. This guy is energetic, strong, and super friendly to people. He has the softest coat you've ever felt and he's ready for a full body hug when you are. Duke is about 1 year old. Here's what we know: 'Duke came in as a stray but his owner did not reclaim him (they only owned for a month), he has jumped up on his daughter and scratched her arm so they didn't want him back. Duke is a pretty easy going boy, his favorite things to do are to play with toys, roll around in the grass and sit around. Although he enjoys being pet, he's not a needy dog and seems to do fine just hanging out. Duke has ... (Read More)shown a prey drive for other pets, especially small ones in that he'll crouch down low when he sees them come then jump up and bark. We don't believe he is dog friendly but have never really tried him with other dogs. I believe he is house trained but am not positive. Duke is a beautiful, healthy, strong dog, he enjoys walks but should have a gentle lead or some way to keep him from pulling as he is strong. He'd do best in a home with a fenced yard to keep him and other dogs safe.' Stop by the Rescue if you're interested in meeting Duke. We'd love to introduce you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-17-00248Blazer (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Blazer, a 1-2 year old neutered male who was recently surrendered to our Rescue. His previous guardian loves Blazer very much and wants only the best for this handsome guy. Here's what he has to say: 'A little about Blaze. He was found as a stray in Canyon County. When I got him, he was very underweight, his coat was dry and blotchy. He would not go near people or other dogs. When I brought him outside he sat on the concrete pad and just looked sad. I am a supporter of the shelters and adopted several dogs over the years, my last one was from you guys (Geronimo was his name, he is now Brody and doing very well). Blaze was the saddest ... (Read More)dog I have seen there, and I thought I would be able to provide him a good home. So far I have been able to. His coat looks amazing and he is a social butterfly with both people and dogs. He got off to a rough start, stayed very reserved and Brody just left him alone. The first night he slept hard for a straight 12 hours on my bed. As we have progressed to the dog park, he went from hiding under my legs to running and playing (on leash) with the other dogs and people. He loves to smile and play. He is a food monger! He inhales his food, so I purchased a slower bowl and that seems to be helping (that will be sent with him). However, he does not have any food aggression. I have tested him several times during feeding time with myself and Brody. He does not get tense, guard or any sort of behavior that would signify he has any aggressive behaviors with food. He is learning, getting better everyday, with taking treats nicely from my hand. He is learning the word 'gentle' and what that means. He does well with small dogs and large dogs. I have not had him directly in contact with kids, however, the kids at the dog park have not had any issues with him. He is getting much better on the leash. He needs a few gentle reminders about how to behave on a leash and then he is good and will walk by my side without pulling. In the house he is very docile. He likes to sit with me on the couch an watch tv. He also likes to just be petted, especially on his head/ears. He and Brody are great about going outside to rough house and play. He loves balls and toys! He is not great at bringing them back, but slowly getting better. He does not know his name yet, but is learning. He is good at coming when not distracted, but when he is distracted or playing he has not got that figured out yet. He is a very sweet and lovable dog. Regarding the reason I need to try to find a more appropriate home for him. He is a Houdini. Once he perked up, I found that he could jump my 4 ft chain link fence and get out. I purchased and installed 5 foot extension fencing, thinking that would solve the problem. He has figured out how to get out still. He has been able to tear down some of the fence when he is chasing squirrels. I purchased and crate trained him. He does very well in the crate, he will go right in on command and lay down. However, during the day he has figured out how to wedge his way out of it and get out. I have dog doors in my house and he gets out then escapes the back yard. With having Brody, I am unable to block the dog doors so he cannot get in/out. That is not fair to Brody. I have attempted to strap the door to the crate so he cannot force his way out, but he has managed to undo that and get out. I have an outside kennel/dog run that Brody uses during the day. It has a covered roof top and is chain link. I kicked Brody out during the day and locked Blaze in there hoping that would keep him secure. He has managed to find his way out of it as well. I have only had Blazer for just under a month and he has been taken to the human society 3 times, and gotten out everyday in the past 2 weeks, despite my remedies. I am very concerned because he loves water! My house butts up to one of the main arteries for the new york canal. Its about 10 feet deep and flowing fast (they just turned it on over the weekend). I have caught Blaze trying to go there and it would devastate me if he got in. If you feel you can offer Blazer a secure home, please come in and meet him. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-10-00278Roko (male)

Redbone Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Sometimes, it takes a little extra time and effort to find the right home for our dogs. This is Roko, and he was adopted by the most amazing family. They've worked with him for a while now, but we've all come to the realization that Roko is better suited to a home without small children. And that's OK. We're sure his people are out there somewhere. Roko's family is fostering him for the time being. Here's what Nichole has to say: 'Meet Roko, a 1.5-year-old male Redbone Coonhound available for adoption through Meridian Canine Rescue. We are fostering him until he finds his forever family. Although we had hoped to adopt him ourselves, we have ... (Read More)determined that it would be best for him to be in a home without children under the age of 12. I have gotten to know Roko over the past month and he is a beautiful, sweet boy. My husband and I have taken him to work with us every day and he is content laying in his crate, watching people pass by his office window, rarely ever barking at them. In order to be content in his crate, he does require consistent exercise every day. I've been riding a Razor scooter to keep up with him on our morning walks! We typically finish the day with another walk that focuses on obedience training. He's starting to get the hang of it! This guy loves food and will literally jump through hoops to get it. Food puzzles, toys that make a strategy game out of eating treats, keep him busy in the afternoons. His incredible, well-bred nose can sniff out anything! True to being a hound dog, he does bay when he is anxious or if he sees a small animal he'd like to chase up a tree, but he is typically pretty quiet indoors. A structured environment that includes crate time in conjunction with recreational activities would suit him best. I'd imagine he'd get bored and start to howl if he was in a backyard all day. He's approximately 60 pounds of lean muscle and incredibly powerful. Our two boys, ages 5 and 7, absolutely love to be with him, but now that Roko has playfully knocked them over a few times, he's figured out that he is stronger than they are and has recently started to test his dominance over them around the house. Because of this, I believe that it would be best if he was in a family where he is physically, the smallest member of the household. I think he can overcome this once he gets adjusted to his new environment, with proper training. His adoption fee is $300. He's already neutered, microchipped and vaccinated! Please share this with any of your friends who may be interested in this specialized breed of dog. He deserves to be in a home that has an appreciation for his natural hunting instincts. Redbone Coonhounds are rare in Idaho; if fact, Roko actually came from Texas! Once he is adopted, I'd like to offer his new family a session with professional dog trainer, Teri, from Pooch Pros. She knows a lot about Roko and his temperament, and is looking forward to helping him transition to his new family.     Tigger joined us on our last Wings of Rescue transport. He was flown in, along with his buddies Roo and Ivan, after we learned that they needed a rescue spot. All three dogs (plus several more) had been living in a home together, so we know that Tigger is great with other dogs. Like his best friend Roo, Tigger is somewhat timid. When meeting new people, he can take a minute to warm up. However, he's quick to gain confidence and show you affection once he learns that you're a friend. Tigger makes an excellent lap dog and hops up into your arms whenever he can. Because he's a newer arrival, we haven't had the opportunity yet to conduct ... (Read More)supervised meet-and-greets. We suspect that Tigger is good with older kids, but we're not sure how he feels about younger kids, cats, crates, etc. As we continue to get to know this 1-2 year old, we'll update his profile.     Meet Purdy, a sweet female Shepard mix about a year old that was left at the shelter with no reason given. She was so scared and confused as to why she'd been abandonded. We brought her into the rescue where we have found her to be a very sweet and lovable girl! She is now spayed, current on all vaccinations and microchiped. She would love to have a family that has a fenced backyard that she could run and play in. Purdy seems to have been ignored in whatever life she had before coming to us and is not comfortable riding in cars or being indoors. She loves to go on walks, is great on a leash and loves her toys. Purdy is smart and has quickly ... (Read More)learned a few basic commands, especially if a treat is involved. Purdy has a submissive personality but loves to play with other dogs. She is not real fond of cats but with some patience she could possibly be taught to tolerate them. Purdy might have a little too much energy for very young children so it's recommend she be in a family with older kids. Purdy is like a race horse, out of the gate she is fast and full of energy but once she is out for a short period of time, she is very mellow. If you need a hiking or running companion, Purdy just might be the one for you. (Less)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

A 9 year old gentleman, Biscuit joined MCR after being surrendered by a family who could no longer care for him. He is often timid and shy when meeting new people and needs to be adopted by someone who will respect his boundaries and offer him a quiet, calm environment. Biscuit is reportedly good with other dogs, and he previously lived in a home with children. He is both house- and kennel-trained. Since we've had Biscuit, we've found him to be easy to handle and walk, though he does give clear signals when a situation makes him uncomfortable. For that reason, we recommend a mature home.

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-04-00153Bear (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

He was terrified when he came in. Barking at the kennel door. Freezing and staring at us with wide eyes. Tensing his entire body. It was awful. But then... oh, but then... we met Bear. The real Bear. The one who lives to love you. The one who gives you kisses and hugs and wants to play and be by your side for ever and ever. Once he realized he could trust us, Bear gave us his heart, and we are so happy to know him. He is just 2 years old. He is reactive because he's scared of new situations. But once he's got his person by his side, Bear can learn to be brave. When he went in to the vet to be neutered, we admit that we were all a little ... (Read More)worried. But he stayed calm, he accepted treats, and he curiously sniffed people with relaxed body language throughout the ordeal. We were so proud of this guy. We've been told that Bear is good with other dogs and non-reactive toward cats. He doesn't seem to mind the dogs here, and he was happily curious about the ones he met during his vet outing. We think that with the right dog, Bear could love having a canine companion. But he's really all about his people. Once he's yours, he's all yours. It'll take some time for adopters to see him as we've come to know him, so if you've got a little extra time and patience, we encourage you to visit with him. The moment you've earned his trust -- well, you just can't beat it. What an amazing feeling. ***NOTE: Bear was previously adopted, then returned to us. He is a fearful dog who will need someone to help him work on his reactions to new people. Please ask a staff member for more information. We have additional notes about his behaviors, as well as an evaluation completed by a certified trainer. (Less)

Ghost is a 6 1/2 year old DEAF Great Dane. He really is just amazing! He lives with two other dogs and loves them to pieces and Ghost's foster has brought him to a few events and Ghost just adores meeting everyone and letting them love all over him. He gets excited meeting new dogs too and loves to play. Ghost would do best in a home with another playful dog. He does know some hand signals, and comes to a flashing light at night. Ghost would do best with kids over 12 as he has no sense of personal space and is clumsy. He also would love someone who is home a lot as he does not like being away from his people. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-13-00099Cash (male)

Treeing Walker Coonhound Mix    Age: Puppy

This good-looking guy was recently surrendered by his family after they could no longer provide the type of lifestyle and home environment that he needs. Cash's family provided photographs and notes about him, so we will use that information to start his bio and will continue to update it as we get to know him. Cash is about 1.5 years old and is all Hound. He has a lot to say, and he is very curious and energetic. Cash has really enjoyed playing with friends at doggie day care, but in the home environment, Cash has displayed resource guarding tendencies (over food) with his canine sister. Cash will need a dog savvy adopter who is willing to ... In return, Cash will give you lots of love, will keep your life exciting at all times, and will be forever grateful to you for rescuing him. *Please contact us for his adoption fee. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-06-00143Nala (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Miss Nala arrived recently from Arizona and has been hanging out in a foster home where it's calm and quiet. She is a timid, shy little girl, who would like nothing more than a peaceful home of her very own. Nala is 6-7 years old, spayed, utd on shots, and microchipped. She does very well with dogs and cats -- in fact, she is currently staying in a foster home with one of our recently adopted dogs, Fitz. Nala is both house and kennel trained as well. Because of her temperament, we're looking for a mature household without any kids, as Nala would prefer to be around adults who would respect her boundaries and move a little more slowly. It was ... (Read More)reported that Nala bit a child, but the records are confusing. She has shown no signs of aggression here. Nala was previously sheltered at a facility in Arizona, and during her stay, she became pregnant. Nala had one fetus about 28 days old when the county shelter spayed her. We know that Nala has been through a lot of upheaval and that explains why she doesn't like to be picked up from the front and why she's reluctant to move out of her safe kennel space when she meets new people. Once Nala decompresses in a home, she is an absolute love and wants to hang out on the couch. If you're interested in meeting Nala, please call the Rescue at 208-794-0944. *Please contact us for her adoption fee. (Less)

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Cricket is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. Her previous owner moved across the country and could not take all of her animals with her. She's a spunky senior (believed to be about 14 years young-most people that have met her find it hard to believe she could be about that old) that was in a house with two other dogs, three cats and six kids (the youngest was ~6 years old when they got her). She's currently living with my three dogs. She does love to eat so she'd need someone that would monitor her food so she doesn't over eat. She hops around happily when she knows I'm about to put her food dish down. She was crate trained ... (Read More)with her prior owner. There was one potty accident when very first took her in but with the help of my dogs she learned how to use a dog door quickly and loves to be outside. She likes playing with toys, does know how to sits, comes when you call her, rides well in an open vehicle (topless Jeep) and she minds well. I would love to see her find a home that has kids she could play gently and cuddle with. She's not a big kisser/licker but is a sweet girl (Less)

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] I need to find my son's white german shepherd, Bylo, his forever home. He is eight years old (12/5/2016) and is on medication for idiopathic seizure disorder which is well controlled. He's a large goofy boy and part of our family. Bylo is very affectionate and an excellent companion. It would be helpful for him to have someone that has experience with the shepherd breed and able to work on socialization. He is protective of his family and nervous around new people until he warms up. He is very responsive to commands and is leash and house trained. He's close to 80lbs, up to date on vaccinations and neutered. He ... (Read More)is also microchipped. He'd probably do best in a one dog home and has never been around cats. My son has been diagnosed with asthma and unfortunately his 'best friend' is one of his triggers. It breaks my heart to have to do this but I need to do what is best for all of us. We live in Boise and really need to find somewhere for Bylo as soon as we can. If you are interested please contact us. Thank you (Less)

Fenced yard with a 6 foot or taller fence (no underground fences) is a must and all other animals in the home must be fixed. There will be zero exceptions to these requirements for Mosby so please don't ask. Mosby is very energetic and would do best with another playful dog. Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Gracie, the cutest little Rhodesian Ridgeback you could ever meet. She's a 1 year old sweetheart, with lots of love and licks for her family. Gracie is full of energy for a game of catch out in the yard, but when she comes inside she knows how to settle right down, use her 'inside manners,' and chill out at your feet or in her crate. She is friendly with the neighbor dog through the fence, but hasn't been tested with other dogs. Gracie is interested in cats but we're unsure how she would do with one in the house. She loves all people, especially little kids, while still being a good watchdog when someone comes to the door. Gracie walks ... (Read More)well on a leash, not pulling or tugging. She is learning 'come', 'sit' and 'stay'. Due to a weak esophagus, Gracie does best when she can eat smaller meals during the day, with her front paws up on a bench or step-stool. He is an escape genius...no chain link, must be vinyl or flat wood 6 foot or taller with no foot holds or anything for him to climb on up and over. PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Idaho
Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year.

Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog!

lnteresting Dog Trivia Low-Cost Idaho Spay & Neuter Clinics
All dogs, even cute little lap dogs, are ultimately descended from domesticated wolves. There are hundreds of dog breeds with extremely varied characteristics and sizes, from the tiniest teacup Chihuahua to the hugest Mastiff, but all of these breeds make up just one species Canis lupus familiaris and can theoretically breed with one another (although there can be practical and health related constraints.)
