Rescue Me ID: 16-05-03-00025Logan (male)

Pug    Age: Adult

Meet Logan Logan, or Logi the Bear as his foster family likes to call him, is distinguished black pug with a silver face. Logan is 7-8 years old and just LOOOOOVES people. In fact, if it was up to him, he'd love to always be near his people so he doesn't miss opportunities to love them! FOMO (fear of missing out) is a good way to describe Logan, he can't miss out on the action there's just too much love to share. For example, he will hangout in the hallway near his foster family's bedrooms until everyone goes to bed before putting himself to bed. All that said, Logan is not overly needy - he's a gentle, loving, sweetheart. Logan would ... (Read More)make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a low-key dog to love. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He likes kids but would do better in a family with older children who won't be too rough with him since suffers from stiff back hips and legs that cause him to walk a little funny. This loving guy doesn't let stiff back legs slow him down, he's definitely mobile. Logan is housebroken but has a little issue with incontinence - when he gets excited he may have a little poop accident. He loves his people so much that he would never do it on purpose. The thing his foster family loves the most is 'his gentle heart and soul, he has such a sweet spirit.' If you would like to add this gentle heart to your family please fill out an adoption application on PugPals.org. Logan's adoption fee is $250. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-03-00021Odin (male)

Pug    Age: Senior

Meet Odin Odin is a small 14-year-old pug with special needs and lots of love to share. Odin is deaf and moves slow in his older age but if he sees or hears his people he loves to be their shadow. Odin would love to find a family where he can spend his golden years doing what he loves most - being held or sitting next to his people. His foster mom's favorite thing about Odin is that 'he's just a quite, mellow old dude. But when I come in from work he pushes his way to front of the grumble for loving.' Odin has weak back legs which can collapse under him if he stands or walks for too long. While Odin is potty trained and knows what to do ... (Read More)when he goes outside, he would love a family that understands that he's getting old and suffers from incontinence so will need some patience and understanding in this arena. We know you will love this sweet old guy when you meet him, If your family could use some of Odin's love please complete an adoption application on PugPals.org. Odin's adoption fee is $100. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-02-00536Pixie (female)

Cairn    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID Pixie is a 10 year old purebred Carin Terrier who along with her brother Bingo is sadly in need of a new home. Pixie came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when her human mom had to move into a nursing home where she could no longer have this bundle of joy. Pixie is fun little dog who enjoys sunbathing in the backyard but when it gets chilly she is right there next to you on the couch. Just pick up her leashes she will run to you with tail wagging. Potentially life threatening noise coming from outside? She will let you know. Want to play? She will let you know. Need to refill the water bowl? She will let you know. Front door ... (Read More)left open? She will adventure without you. Pixie is an amazing dog, she only has partial vision in one eye and is completely blind in the other due to Glaucoma. She sometimes bumps into things but never fails to be very adventurous and happy to be wherever you are. Any new person is someone to try to get pets from and any new dog is someone to try to play with. Because of the eye troubles she does require daily eye drops twice a day. She also just had five teeth removed so she will be adjusting to that - but she never lost her chipper attitude and still loves going to the vet because she knows the vet will pet her. The UTI was left untreated for so long that she developed weakened muscles in her bladder and will need to be on Prion for the rest of her life. She cannot walk continuously for very long before getting tired - anything over a mile and a half I end up carrying her back. She also pees very frequently on walks as an after effect of the UTI. She is at risk for a reoccurrence of another UTI in the future so lots of water for this girl and a prescription diet may be in her future. Please don't let her eyes or her bladder issues scare you off; Pixie is the sweetest little girl in the world. She craves human contact and has a long and happy life ahead of her. Pixie is good with other dogs and would do best with another dog in the house that she can follow around. She would do best with no cats in her home and no kids under 15 please. She would love to live in a home where someone is home most of the time. If Pixie sounds like your perfect dog, fill out an application today at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and his foster parent will call you!! Pixie is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Cairn    Age: Senior

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Bingo is a 10 year old purebred Carin Terrier who along with his siser Pixie is sadly in need of a new home. Bingo came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his human mom had to move into a nursing home where she could no longer have this bundle of joy. If you let him, Bingo will sleep on your lap whenever he is not eating or walking. Just pick up his leash and he will run to you with tail wagging. Potentially life threatening noise coming from outside? He will let you know. Want to play? He will let you know. Need to refill the water bowl? He will let you know. Front door left open? He will adventure without you. Bingo ... (Read More)really is just a cuddle buddy. He is slower to warm up to other dogs than his sister (he sometimes barks at other dogs while we are out walking), but once he gets introduced he tries playing. As with many males, when he gets real excited he starts to hump and for the first few days he will try marking your house, but if you keep telling him no he will stop (and a belly band is also a great tool). Bingo loves playing and chasing birds and squirrels out of the back yard. He goes on hunger strikes trying to convince you to feed him human food or fancy wet food, don't fall for his trap. While he likes his food a little softened with water he will also eat dry food. When one of his foster dog brothers doesn't finish his food Bingo goes and eats it - he doesn't hate dog food- he just wants to be special. He will eat human food off the table if you leave it unattended. He begs while you cook in hopes you will drop something. He was a wee bit spoiled in his previous home, but is learning better manners in his foster home. Bingo is house trained and while not exactly crate trained if you put him in one when you are gone he will lay down and take a nap. As we said he loves to go for a walk every day and is fair on leash; getting excited at birds, squirrels and other dogs along the way. This handsome little man needs a kid free home and probably cat free also. He would love to have someone who is home most of the time but that is not a requirement. He will do fine with another dog (female is better or a calm male) or as the only dog. If Bingo sounds like your perfect dog, fill out an application today at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and his foster parent will call you!! Chihuahua    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sandborn is a 1 year old, 8 pound Chihuahua who came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after he had a hard time adjusting to shelter life. This little guy is both a lover and a fighter - well not really a fighter. But once he bonds with his people he makes it his own personal mission to protect them from anything and anyone that may invade their space. Somewhere along the line Sandborn decided it was his job to protect his people when they have him out and about; his foster family has been working on this with him and he is getting that he doesn't need to control everything (treats are an amazing tool). It helps that ... (Read More)he's as smart as a whip and eager to please. He does however prefer the company of adults (women in particular) so no kids under 15 please. He walks great on a leash and he loves to go for car rides and does great in the car. He does like to play and will use his teeth if you let him but it's just in play! He is good with other dogs his own size, but we are unsure of cats. Sandborn is mostly house trained he just needs to be taken out often or have a dog door. Because of his size he must be taken out often. He doesn't bark at all in the house will whine if he wants something but that's about it. He will bark when out but only if aloud to get distracted. He really loves his family and loves to be in your lap and enjoys his dog bed if it's in the sun and he can see outside! If Sandborn sounds like your perfect dog, fill out an application today! Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

BooBoo is a 13 month old Chihuahua. BooBoo is very shy in his kennel and loves to hang out in his little 'cave bed.' Once you get him out of the kennel, he is a completely different dog. Although he is submissive, he is very playful. BooBoo gets along with other dogs and is cat friendly. He is treat motivated. He does not walk too well on a leash but at only 5 lbs he does not pull too much! He appears to be house trained and does not mark. Rescue Me ID: 16-04-28-00318Harry (male)

Yorkie    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID Harry is a very lovable and cuddly 3-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. He wants to be right at your side or in your lap. Harry is n the largish size for a Yorkie, weighing in at slightly more than 9 lbs. Like most terriers, Harry is a very active dog and will need a fenced yard to run around in. He will race around for minutes at a time to entertain himself, but also enjoys long walks. He will be happy to make sure those pesky squirrels stay out of the yard by chasing them off when they are taunting him from the top of the fence! He loves his chew toys, and needs sturdy ones as he can destroy a stuffy very quickly. ... (Read More)Harry is great with people, his own and strangers alike. He is not great with other dogs, however. Harry is territorial and will be aggressive with other dogs, particularly males. For this reason, Harry must go to a home with no other dogs. With his strong prey instinct, cats in the home would not be a good idea either. Harry has had some training in his past He knows to come when called and to sit on command (if he is not too excited). He sits by his placemat at feeding time until you put his dish down and tell him he can eat. He also knows 'off'. Harry walks well on a leash, and loves to ride in the car. He sleeps in his crate, although does not like being crated during the day when his people are home. He wants to be with you, not locked up in another room! He is not much of a barker, but will sound the alarm when someone comes to the door or a squirrel or bird dares to come into his yard. He will bolt out an open door (house or car) if given an opportunity, so more work on 'stay' or 'place' is needed. In the meantime, he needs to be restrained when the door is open. Harry does know how to use a dog door and was house trained, but after spending some time around another male dog has developed a bad habit of marking in the house. We would expect, that getting Harry into his own house away from other dogs, and with consistent outings and positive reinforcement, he will revert to his house trained self. Harry does have a strange quirk. He spins when he gets stressed, always in one direction. This behavior shouldn't be encouraged. All you need to do is redirect his attention to get the spinning to stop. Harry is a sensitive soul, who needs to be loved for himself without competition for the attention of his people from other pets. Yorkies have long, silky hair that if left long, needs daily brushing to prevent mats. Right now, Harry has an easy-care short coat, but keeping that coat requires regular professional grooming. If Harry sounds like your perfect dog and you have no other pets fill out an application today at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Harry is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sage is a German Shepherd/Samoyed mix to the best of our guessing ability; she is about 6 years old and she has had a rough life up to the point where she came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue. This super sweet girl can be a bit on the timid side and needs time to warm up to new people but if you are willing to give her a bit she will prove to be totally worth it and loyal to a fault. She is shy and very reserved when out in public and will keep her distance with strangers until she feels comfortable with them. Sage is also smart and easy to live with. She is crate trained and will go in with the simple command of 'go ... (Read More)to bed'. Sage is dog door trained and walks great on a lead! She is not a digger, chewer or jumper! She stays off of furniture unless she is invited and has shown no signs of sleeping on the bed with her foster person. She rides great in the car and it very quiet unless something startles her in the backyard. Good with other dogs; doing great with both the senior and younger dog in her foster home. We have not had her with cats but she is so easy going we think with the proper introduction she would be fine. Sage was pretty sick when we took her in and it was a long road to recovery but she pulled through with flying colors. To keep her healthy and strong she will need a good health diet (grain free and salmon protein), regular exercise and remember she has a double coat so will need regular brushing. This beauty would do well with fairly active people, hikes would be fine but Sage is also happy with just a good daily walk. We do require no kids in Sages home under the age of 15 due to her being so shy. A quieter calm home environment would be best; but we want people for her that will continue to get her out and about to help break her out of her shyness. Sage is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and recently had a dental. Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Don't let the gray muzzle fool you, young Moxie is only about 3 years old! Moxie is a ~7 lb chi mix who is an outgoing, energetic, and playful girl. If you throw any toy, she will chase it. She quickly made friends with the 2 other dogs in her foster home and even keeps up with the 8 month puppy! Her foster home also has cats, and while she sometimes gets excited and wants to play with them, she usually leaves them alone. She was being passed up for a while at the Humane Society (most likely due to her coloring) so Fuzzy Pawz Rescue stepped in to foster and get to know her so she could find a perfect home. ... (Read More)Moxie would do best in a household with another playful dog to be best friends with and one that has PLENTY of toys. Give her a toy box and she will gladly take one toy out every now and then and entertain herself. She is crate trained and will sleep quietly through the night. She is also good for a cuddle during nap time. Moxie is a joy to take on walks, she is leashed trained and is ready to go wherever you want to go! Moxie is house trained, although she needs frequent chances to go outside. So far it looks like Moxie doesn't know too many basic commands but she is catching on to 'sit' after a few days so she is eager to learn and earn her treats. Overall Moxie is a fun and easy going dog that would love to have a backyard to sprint around in and some doggie buddies to hang and play with. We feel she would do really well in almost any home. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Maggie Mae!!! Maggie entered our rescue months ago and has spent valuable time with one of our rehab fosters who specializes in small dog behavioral issues. Maggie has gone from a terrified and trembling mess who would not voluntarily leave her crate and would nip at anyone who tried to grab her (especially men), to a sweet girl that just needs time to warm up to you and needs a person or couple to respect her and nurture her progress. She now snuggles with her foster mom AND her foster dad, she was terrified of him for some time. It is impossible to know what a horrible past life little Maggie had before she came to us but with the ... (Read More)experienced hand of her foster she has improved leaps and bounds, and is now ready for her furever home to the right family. It is impossible to know what a horrible past life little Maggie had before she came to us but with the experienced hand of her foster she has improved leaps and bounds, and is now ready for her furever home to the right family. We estimate Maggie to be about 6 years old so she has years of spunky life ahead. She had some bad teeth so she has had a few extractions and a teeth cleaning. Maggie is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She is potty trained and crate trained. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Maggie does NOT do well with children of any age and will not be placed in a home with them. Grandchildren must NOT be allowed to come near her. Her stress levels rise and she will bite. Maggie is cat reactive so we will be looking for a home with no cats accessible to her. Maggie DOES do well with other dogs big and small as long as they don't torment or intimidate her. If you would like to adopt Maggie and meet her you must understand that the initial meeting will be awkward for Maggie and may seem like it did not go well. For Maggie we will extend the Trial Adoption period to allow flexibility for Maggie. Her adoption fee is $100. (Less)

Our Baby Bear is in foster care and doing great. Here is what his foster momma has to say about him Bear is a 3 month old Shepard mix. He is pretty much potty trained. He's had a accident twice in the last month and it was only because he was having too much fun and forgot to get outside. He knows he's supposed to go outside. :) He is a doggie door expert, but when he sleeps in the kennel at night he will let you know when he needs out to go potty. Bear is a crazy happy kid. He loves to be wild and chase and wrestle and rough house his best friend is his mom... Bella. They would be awesome and crazy pair to make part of the family... ... (Read More)They are way fun and cute and love each other so much. But they are both ok to go separately too. They ultimately love their people and just want a family to love them forever. Bear is still learning manners with jumping, he's so excited when I get home or a new guest arrives he jumps barks and whines like a crazy kid it's so cute He's a chewer and is super good if he has plenty of toys and bones to choose from. Pointer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID Penny is a 2.5 year old, 50 pound, red and white female Pointer mixed who sadly is looking for a new home because her family does not have the financial resources and the set schedule to care for her any longer. You see sweet Penny with the heart of gold gets seizures. In October of 2015 Penny was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy (probably genetic, no underlying cause). She is currently on Phenobarbital twice a day to control her seizures. They happen about 1-2 times a month. Within 15 minutes of having a seizure, Penny is back to her normal, cheerful self. She has not ... (Read More)displayed any side effects from the Phenobarbital and the vet says she may go on to live a normal life with the exception of occasional seizures. Penny is very good about taking her medication and thinks it's a treat. Currently Penny is having to visit the vet after a seizure so the vet can evaluate her medication and change her dosage of pheno. Her family was spending about $150 a month on vet visits and medication(medication $60, rest is bloodwork); once the correct dose can be found these costs will drop but she will need to see a vet on a regular basis. Penny will need a family with a fairly set routine who can administer her pills on a set schedule (this will also help regulate her medication). All of that being said Penny is totally worth it! She is one amazing dog with a TON to give back to her people. She does great with everyone she meets; she loves kids and is even very gentle with babies. She will happily rough house with older kids if allowed, but she is smart enough to know when she shouldn't. She reads people really well. Penny loves to meet new people; she wants pets from everyone and enjoys nothing more than snuggling up to her family. If you are looking for a happy go-lucky, greeter at your front door (or anywhere for that matter) Penny is your girl. Penny is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, lie down, shake, fetch, and she'll dance with you!). She loves to get in the car or truck to go on adventures, where she stays close and checks in often. Penny does well in the car on long trips. She loves to play all day with other dogs. She has only been around cats a couple of times but didn't seem too interested in chasing them. She would likely try to initiate play, so only dog savvy cats please! This lovely girl has a high energy level and needs a lot of exercise. She has been an excellent running partner and happily goes on runs as long as 30 miles. She's great on and off-leash, and nearly explodes with excitement when she sees her leash. If you are looking for an enthusiastic walking/running partner, she's perfect. Overall, she is a big sweetheart. Penny is a lovely girl with a lot to offer a family that is looking for a kid friendly, happy, active girl. Please don't let her seizures scare you off; we promise she is totally worth it. If you feel you can offer this sweet girl the forever loving home she deserves, please complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $40 adoption fee for Penny (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Baylee is a 1 1/2 year old Bloodhound/Walker hound mix. She came to us when her time was up at a local shelter so she wouldn't be euthenized. She was an owner surrender and from the looks of it, had at least one litter. She came with absolutely no manners and she has learned the rules of the house very quickly. She loves to use her nose! May possibly work as a search and rescue dog??? She loves to have a job and would do well in an active home. She is crate trained and hasn't had an accident in her foster home. Please remember that hounds are very vocal and she can be quite loud when she gets to baying. If you can't handle the noise ... (Read More)then please don't try to adopt her.     Jade is our little sweetheart. She was found wondering, scared, cold and hungry. We have no idea what her story is so we are just gonna start from now and move on. Jade loves attention and is a soft little snuggle bug. Don't think she can't keep up with the big boys though. She and Toby are best friends. Rescue Me ID: 16-01-27-00173Sammy (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Meet Sammy! Sammy is a 9 year old Maltese/Poodle mix who is in need of a loving forever home. Don't let this guy's age fool you! You'd never know he's 9! He's a very active boy who would like to be in a home where he can go on daily walks and continue with his training. He's a smart guy and learns things quickly. He would enjoy another dog to play with, and while he doesn't really know yet how to play nicely, he's learning. He just tries to be dominant, but he gets along very well with the dogs in his foster home as well as the cats. He may try to chase a cat that runs away, but with a firm no this behavior is ... (Read More)easily stopped. Sammy came to Fuzzy Pawz with some pretty bad behaviors; mainly he liked to use his teeth on people to stop them from doing what he didn't like (such as putting on a leash or walking away from him when he wanted attention). This naughty behavior led Sammy to injure his 86 year old original owner's hand and she had to give him up. So while in foster care Sammy has been working on un-learning this behavior; he has been showing a lot of improvement and self-control. Continued training and trust building will be very important. Positive reinforcement only methods are especially important! Because of his behavior issue, he should go to a home with no children. This little guy has a ton of potential with dedicated owners; he simply was allowed to do what he pleased, when he pleased from the time he was a puppy (so 9 years of someone allowing him to be naughty!) This little guy should go to an active home. He loves to play with his people and be very goofy and entertaining; he really is a ton of fun. He would learn some tricks easily and would really enjoy the attention that it brings. When he's been cooped up inside he will pull on the leash, so he should have some leash training as well. He's also house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside, but he does mark inside if not watched and kept on a regular schedule; again this behavior is one that can and should be worked on. Sammy's not dumb, just used to doing what he wants; he's eager to learn. Sammy's coat and ears can get matted, so he will need to have regular brushing to keep it beautiful. This is just an adorable little boy, whose personality makes him even cuter! If you can offer this boy a loving home with structure and rules please complete an adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Sammy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. There is a $100 adoption fee for Sammy. (Less)

Meet Miley & Macie Miley and Macie are 8 and 9 year old puggle sisters who have been very loved and adored all their lives. Their first family was forced to give them up after their daughter became very allergic to them - it was heartbreaking for Miley, Macie, and their first family. These two ladies are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. Miley and Macie are not only adorable, but are angels. Their foster mom says they are fantastic members of the family. These girls ... (Read More)are housetrained and know how to use the doggy door. Miley loves to go for car rides, new social situations, and walks - and loves to compete with her sister Macie for loves from people. Macie is the deep thinker, worrier, and mothering one. She has beautiful, big expressive eyes. When you put Macie on the bed she'll unmake it and rearrange all the pillows and make a nest she's quite proud of - it's one of the few times she'll play. When you pet Macie she'll run away out of arms reach and then briefly run back for another fast pet. She's totally into eye contact and has a really good heart. These girls are quiet, calm, and low maintenance. Until feeding time that is. Like all puggles, these girls LOOOVE to eat (but really, don't we all?!). They won't climb on the furniture to beg, unless you have popcorn which is their personal favorite. The adoption fee for Miley and Macie is $250. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Thank goodness these folks stepped up to help Rebel. He has been neutered, is up on his vaccinations and micro chipped. He would love to have an inside home. He would also love room to run and play in a safe fenced yard. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. We will put you in touch with his foster family so you can hear more wonderful things about this sweet boy. Make this boy's dreams come true and give him a master of his own. Rebel has now out lived his past two owners. It is believed that he has not had much training in his past 4 years. We know he was left of on a chain at least half ... (Read More)of his life. When his elderly master passed away he moved to the city and there it was evident he had no training and was not allowed to stay. His current foster family was told he was going to be taken back to farm and let the elements determine his fate. As soon as they heard about that they asked if he could stay just a few more days so plans could be made to foster this cute boy. When he first came he did not even know how to 'play dog' with his foster sister. He was afraid of car rides and had no dog educate manners. Now he understands he will get food daily. He is potty trained as long as we let him out often and loves to 'play dog' with his foster sister. He finds the cat fascinating but can not resist the temptation to run after him and nip him if he can. (He most likely will not do well with cats.) He will be your watch dog and give you a warning if he hears any new sounds around and be the happiest boy to great you when you come home from work and other outings. We have come a long way with Rebel. He will now go on car rides and likes to look out the window. He will sit at command and has improved on jumping up (still working on this). Unless you have leather shoes he has stopped his chewing, so just keep them out of his reach. He's eager and ready to please his new forever master. While we currently have him in a foster home with a young toddler we think that a home with older kids would be best. He has tender spots we do not touch and we if we do he lets us know he would rather us not, such as his back end and feet. He is a Healer or at least 90% Healer and acts like one! She is around 5-6 years old and full of life . . . The tennis ball is her favorite toy and curling up in your lap is right up there too. She is great with other dogs, cats, and older kids but still had some quirky behaviors about her and needs a family that will love her for who she is. No more babies for Nellie, she ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Idaho
Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year.

Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog!

lnteresting Dog Trivia Low-Cost Idaho Spay & Neuter Clinics
All dogs, even cute little lap dogs, are ultimately descended from domesticated wolves. There are hundreds of dog breeds with extremely varied characteristics and sizes, from the tiniest teacup Chihuahua to the hugest Mastiff, but all of these breeds make up just one species Canis lupus familiaris and can theoretically breed with one another (although there can be practical and health related constraints.)
