Hello, Our 6 year old black lab Buddy needs a new loving home. He is a great dog, but when we had our baby daughter he became jealous because we are not able to give him as much attention anymore. He has always been great with kids until we had our own. He would be great in a home with a nice sized back yard where he can play fetch and he is great with kids that are already in the home. He is very active and loves to play fetch and go swimming. He is very well behaved and listens. He is an indoor/outdoor dog but has recently been living outside at my in-laws and they can't keep him. Please let me know if you are interested. Thank you, ... (Read More)Lisa (Less) Ada County Boise, ID 83709 MAP IT!

FOSTER LOCATION:%A0 Nampa, ID FREEZE! When he isn't in hot pursuit of those Duke boys Rosco P. Coltrane is all about kicking back, eating a good meal and hanging out with his friends.%A0 Unlike his namesake he isn't a clumsy, slow-witted buffoon; rather he is sharp as a tack and one speedy pup! This 3 - 4 year old Australian Kelpie/Terrier mix will arrest you the minute you meet him with his soul full eyes, sweet demeanor and joy of life.%A0 Rosco loves all people including children, however he does jump so no kids under 10 please.%A0 Rosco loves to play with other dogs, large and small; however he does have strong prey drive and needs a ... (Read More)home without cats, chickens or other small furry pets (little dogs are fine - he's buddies with a 8 pound Chi).%A0 He would love to have his very own little buddy to play with! As your typical 'good 'ol boy' Rosco is house trained and has learned how to use the dog door and is crate trained.%A0 Loves squeaky toys and enjoys a good game of fetch or chase; he also loves to swim and play in the water. Rosco is very muscular, agile and fast - this is how he catches those Duke's so often; he would make a great running or agility partner. Rosco loves to be with people and can often be found wherever his foster mom is.%A0 Rosco knows a few basic commands: sit, no, off and is working on leave it, down, wait and perfecting his leash skills.%A0Being a man of the law he is willing to learn and follow the rules. Rosco seems to have a special affinity for wheelchair bound people and will gently place his head up in their lap seeking affection.%A0 As with any good lawman he's all about helping his community and with some training Rosco could become a therapy dog. %A0 Rosco will need a home with a securely fenced (6' please) yard with no chain link as this boy has figured out how to climb it. If you can offer this boy room to run and play; a family to love him and maybe even a 1977 Pontiac Lemans to ride around it please let us know! %A0%A0Complete an adoption application at http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm %A0 Rosco is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 13-05-18-00080Ute (female)
FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID The dictionary defines the word diva as a celebrated female singer; a woman of outstanding talent in the world of ,operaby extension in theatre, cinema and popular music. We define the word diva as an long legged beauty named Ute. Ute (OO-tuh) is a four-year-old female Chihuahua mix who hates the cold and hates the snow and makes sure you know about it. When her human family ended up having to move to Alaska Ute said no way was she going to the land of ice and snow and told her people to call Fuzzy Pawz to help find her a new home. This long legged beauty is well socialized and a very sweet dog who loves to ... (Read More)sit on your lap. Ute is a little timid at first and will bark at strangers (as is very common with this breed) so they know she is keeping an eye on them; but it doesn't take long for her to jump into a lap so she can get the adoration she deserves. She loves to be with her people and have them love on her and show how much they adore her. While Ute is not your typical performer she can be quite vocal at times. She will bark to let you know when she wants outside and will bark like crazy when playing with other dogs. Ute can be a bit of a diva and will whine and jump on you if you are ignoring her and she thinks she needs your undivided attention. Ute comes from a home with a second dog and loves to play and romp with them. Within minutes of arriving in her foster home Ute was playing chase around the house with the other dogs in the home. Ute would be happiest in a home with another dog that will play with her. We have been told that Ute also gets along with cats and why wouldn't she as long as they are part of her fan base. Ute is housebroken, but has little obedience training. She is not reliable on recall - especially if outside her own home and yard; she will do as she pleases when she pleases. She needs someone who will teach her some basics (no jumping and to come when called at the very least). Given her small and delicate size, and bad habit of jumping on people, Ute would be best a home without small children. Ute is a doll and has tons of love to give to the right household. You can apply for Ute by completing an adoption application on our website: http://www.fuzzypawzrescue.com/adoptionapplication.htm Ute has been spayed, vaccinated and micro-chipped There is a $40 adoption fee for Ute And as every diva should she comes with a complete wardrobe of dresses, coats, and costumes! ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 13-05-17-00359Gunner (male)
Gunner is a 2 yr old VERY loving and VERY intelligent little boy. He has been with our family since he was 4 months old. He has always been around children and is very trustworthy with them. I am broken hearted to have to see him re-homed. He is a very big part of our family, but situations have arisen that are not fair to him. We are a military family and with that we are looking at another cross country move soon. I feel that he would be better placed in a more permanent home with a family that will be able to give him the time and dedication that he deserves. Funner really needs to have lots of social interaction with people, he ... (Read More)thrives on it. He is very active and needs room to run. Over the time that we have had him with us I have noted that he does not really have anything that will make him aggressive aside from other dogs. Though I really feel that it is more of a nervous issue. My ex husbands dog (Gunners brother) was very aggressive and we could not keep him off of Gunner. Since that point he have become a bit antsy around other dogs all together. He is very protective of my children as I believe he would be of any child. He does not aggressively approach anyone, but if I play with my kids and he thinks that it is getting too rough or they are screaming and running around he will try to separate me or any other person from their area. He is very gentle with the kids and OVERLY tolerant to pretty much anything. My youngest will hang, lay, sit, and pull on him with zero reaction from Gunner. I truly love him with all of my heart and he is one of my children. But it is not fair to him to have to go through all the stress and uncertainty of having to continue to makes these large moves and changing settings. He has all vaccinations up to date for Idaho, he is chipped and registered with Pet Link. Kennel trained, house broken, and will walk on a leash for the most part without troubles, ie no other dogs, loud noises. He loves to go for car rides, and is very mild mannered in the vehicle. I have always kept him inside my pickup's cab, I don't think he would be likely to stay inside of an open bed. There are so many things I have to say about him. Since we have had him with us he has been used as a therapy dog for one of my children who has massive anxiety troubles and other psychological illnesses. Gunner will start to alert any one around if anything out of the ordinary is going on. He is not trained to be a 'guard dog' but he is quick to alert if there is any kind of movement around the home that he doesn't deem normal. Because of his ability to pick up on these changes in people and surroundings and notify quickly he has aided us greatly with my son as well as deterring break-ins that were in progress. He is roughly 45-50 lbs, he comes just about knee level to me. Very slim build, notable muscle build but not overly toned or conditioned. He is very much a lap dog, and truly thinks he is person. He will be an amazing part to any family that can give him every thing he deserves that I feel I am falling short of. I want to see him happily placed. But would also request that the family he goes to from here would keep me updated on his status and adjustment. Like I said he is one of my own children, so his placement into the best possible home is very important to me. I will work with an amount for his relocation and placement. And will also supply kennel, chip information, initial food, toys, leash food and water bowls, pretty much every thing you need to get started with him. ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 13-05-17-00239Zola (female)
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID When Zola's mom told her they were moving to Alaska Zola Googled the state and decided that she agreed with Carl Reiner when he said 'A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.' So she reminded her mom that she is NOT a fan of cold and snow and begged her to call Fuzzy Pawz Rescue so we could help her find a new home. So while Zola's mom loved her to pieces she also knew that Zola would be much happier in a new home so Fuzzy Pawz is trying to find her just that. Zola is a 4 year old Pointer/Spaniel mix who shudders at the thought of snow but lights up at the thought of her ... (Read More)people giving her belly rubs. She loves everyone she meets and we believe she will be fine with kids of all ages because she is so gentle. This pup is one smart Oreo - she knows the commands: come, sit, stay, lie down, go to bed and crawl (but her foster parent hasn't figured how to get her do that last one). The only thing she still needs to work on is her tendency to want to jump up when she meets new people but she does respond quickly when told 'off'. She is clicker trained and will come running when she hears it; house trained; knows how to use a dog door and kennel trained where she will sleep all night in a kennel (door open or closed) without making a peep. She even walks well on a leash - wow what more could you want. A dog with amazing manners, well trained and best of all Zola will never expect you to take an hour long walk when it is freezing cold outside! Zola is great with all the people and dogs she has meet at the dog park and really loves to romp and play with other dogs that like to do the same. She has lived with dogs her size and smaller and Zola is even good with cats! All kidding aside Zola has a very thin coat and cannot be left outside for long periods of time during the winter (she'll get very cold) or in the summer (she will burn). On the upside that thin coat also means she has minimal grooming/shedding issues. All and all Zola is just about the perfect family dog - a good fit for even a first time dog owner. Won't you bring Zola in out of the cold and let her fill your home with warmth and love. He's a lovable little guy, likes to sit in your lap while you watch TV and loves his chest rubbed with your foot. He'll let you know by walking up to your foot and rubbing his chest on your toes until you take the hint and start doing the work yourself. He's a vocal little guy and will 'talk' to you all the time. He has this little growl he does at you that sounds more like a purrrrrrr. It seems like he's trying to be a part of things when he does this. Like he's trying to be one of us people or ... (Read More)something. He is full of personality and a joy to have around. He became a part of our family right away and we all hate to see him go. We have a larger Griffin which Thunder has lived with for three years and they get along just fine. Barkley (our Griffin) is a VERY gentle and patient personality and shows it when Thunder tries to talk smack. Its only happened a few times and Barkley has had to put Thunder in his place a couple times. We've met with other dogs and Thunder definitely needs to warm up to other dogs. He does try to act dominant towards smaller dogs at first but mellows out and starts playing after a while. I think after a day or two he would adjust just fine. I'd be more worried about bigger dogs getting him, myself. His temperament is mostly gentle, loving and playful but don't touch his hind quarters! He hates it and will freak! He has NEVER bitten anyone but when he freaks I believe he wants you to think he's going to bite. We have a ten year old daughter who was seven when we got Thunder and we've never had a bite. He's done the freak out thing with her and has never bitten her. Thunder is not house broke which is the main reason I am seeking a new home for him. We got him under the pretence that the girls were going to take care of him and train him and they just don't seem that interested. (Less) Canyon County nampa, ID MAP IT!

She had literally lived with a cone on her head to keep her from itching for 2 %BD years. With a lot of TLC and some good food and medicine she is now stable. We know for sure grass is an irritant but some really cute jammies help with that when she is outside. She is a feisty little old lady. Very petite and just adorable. Now that she is stable we are searching for her forever family. No one is totally sure of her age ... (Read More)(somewhere around 12) and she will need continued high quality food, possibly prescription and meds for her allergies to keep her stable so she can enjoy her life. ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 13-04-21-00343Yazi (female)
6 year old Miniature Pinscher. We adopted Yazi a year ago from the local Humane Society. Yazi had come from an 80 year old woman who passed away. I think Yazi needs an older person or couple who are home during the day and want a dog that will lay on your lap and sleep with you at night. Yazi is EXCELLENT with other dogs (we have a 8 year old Pudelpointer), and is actually really good with our two cats. She is not yappy nor does she nip or bite. Yazi is very tolerable with younger kids (I have a 4 year old) and loves attention. The cons: As I said before Yazi ideally needs someone who is home during the day, otherwise she has a tendancy to ... (Read More)eat my trees and plants in the backyard :) She also will crawl in the sheets to sleep with you at night, however some people might like that! Like I said SUPER sweet dog, BUT I think she deserves someone who has more time for her. She is completely house trained and knows how to use a dog door. She is not yappy, but is a good guard dog and will alert you when someone is at the door. I currently feed her lamb and rice food, because I think she was sensitive to the chicken and rice. Other than that, NO known health issues or concerns. She is micro chipped, too. While although I feel completely guilty posting this ad, I know that there is someone out there looking for this EXACT kind of dog. AND, if I was to find the perfect fit, I know that would be the right thing to do for her. Yazi is black/tan in color and approx. 14 lbs. (Less) Ada County Meridian, ID MAP IT!

We rescued this dog 3 days ago. He is very sweet, but extremely nervous. He would be best with someone who is going to be with him most of the time. His former owners had a small child and teenagers, both worked 12-14 hrs daily, he was there 1st dog. I have taught him to walk on a leash, and is working on fetch. He has only been in the car 4 times in his life. He is a little more than my family can handle. Kennel trained and house broke. Please help him find a great forever home. FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID Spirit is an 8(ish) year old Llewellyn Setter came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue in January 2013 so emaciated he had a body scale of 1 (next stage is death). With good food, great veterinary care and a wonderful foster family Spirit is now healthy, happy and ready to move on with the rest of his life. Spirit is a quiet boy who rarely barks. He has a soft, gentle demeanor and seeks out affection. If you stop petting him before he's ready, he will gently place his foot in your lap begging for more. This sweet boy has been making monthly visits to an assisted living home and totally soaks up all the attention from the ... (Read More)residents (with a little bit more training, he would likely make a great therapy dog). He also does well with other dogs of any size, and the one cat he met scared him even though the cat just sat there and looked at him. Spirit doesn't show much interest in toys, but loves to explore the back yard, looking for an errant squirrel or observing birds. His real joy is going on walks! Spirit gets very excited when the leash comes out, and goes over to the front door and sits patiently. He also loves going to the park (so many more smells ...he LOVES to see where his nose will take him). Spirit walks well on a leash, though he does tend to pull a bit. He does okay riding a car (he is a bit nervous sometimes, but overall seems a bit indifferent to the experience). Spirit is house trained and coming along well with his basic manners and training (he is very smart and listens well - he is eager to please). Spirit's new home will need a securely fenced yard (no underground fences). Spirit has been neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Spirit is a loving boy who would be best with in most any home. Ty is a 9 year old beagle. He has been a member of our family since he was 8 weeks old but has recently been having issues getting along with our boxer. I am a vet tech and have 4 dogs he gets along very well with all of them except the male boxer (whom is also neutered). It is getting to the point that i am concerned for his safety as he unprovoked with growl and lunge at the boxer and the boxer has decided (after 3 years of this happening, which previously he would just run away from Ty) that it is time to defend himself and being much stronger and much bigger you can only imagine who wins those fights. | PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Idaho
Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog! Rescue Me! - HeIpingAnimaIs in Need. | ![]()
