Rescue Me ID: 16-05-24-00347Great Dane Puppies

Great Dane    Age: Young Puppy

Idaho Saint Bernard Rescue accepted 2 Great Danes that had been intercepted from going to a kill shelter in CA. Joe and Lady's owner had passed away and had no one to take care of them. We have discovered that Lady is pregnant and due around the first week of June. Joe is the daddy. The vet advised there are approximately 7 puppies. The puppies will have their declaws removed, first set of shots, and come with a spay/neuter contract so you are NOT allowed to breed them. Mama is a Merle and daddy is almost all black. Apply to adopt at www.saintrescue.org. Adoption fee is $500. Potential adopters will need to fill out an adoption ... (Read More)application at www.saintrescue.org. I will not be looking at apps until after Mama gives birth and I know how many there are and how many survive. Once I decide on the apps, a home check is done, and we also call veterinarians to ensure you have taken care of past and present animals. Anyone who wants a puppy has to be willing to drive to Boise, ID to pick up their puppy. I will not ship puppies, nor will I send them on transport. The adoption fee is $500 and due upon adoption. There will also be a spay/neuter contract, advising that you are not allowed to breed this puppy and must have the dog fixed between 18-24 months. I would love to fix all the puppies before the go to homes, but with giant breeds that doesn't work to fix them so early. So we put legal precautions in place. The puppies will have their dewclaws removed and their first set of shots. (Less)

Jade is our little sweetheart. She was found wondering, scared, cold and hungry. We have no idea what her story is so we are just gonna start from now and move on. Jade loves attention and is a soft little snuggle bug. Don't think she can't keep up with the big boys though. She and Toby are best friends. They run and roll and sometimes she just totally disappears in the deep snow trying to follow him. Never fear, here she comes bounding out of the drifts like a little deer. Jade is about 2 to 3 years old. We think she is a Lab/Pittie cross. Jade is a little shy around men but warms up quickly. She loves to play with all the boy ... She's happy now and she knows she is safe and loved. What ever happened before to our little girl is totally forgotten. :) She would love to be someones baby girl. Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID This beautiful itty bitty pitty is Mabel. She is 2 years old and has the biggest heart! All she wants is to give you kisses, lean into your touch and have a lap to lay on. Mabel is a quick learner and eager to please. Her Fuzzy Pawz Rescue foster family realized right away that she wasn't exposed to everyday situations around the house in her previous life. However, she's now kennel trained, conquered the stairs and willingly hops into the car for a fun ride. She is still working on some basic commands like sit, stay, down. Surprisingly, she is pretty good on leash, with just occasionally pulling, but takes ... (Read More)correction well; when she's tired and done with the walk, she will pull more to get back home! Mabel is great with other dogs and spends her day playing with her foster dog sister. She is respectful of the older dog of the house, and leaves him alone...with just an occasional walk-by kiss! Mabel loves to be outside, running around the yard or soaking up the sun on the patio, but will also join you on the couch for some afternoon snoozing. At a recent event at a local park, and she was wonderful. She met a lot of new people & dogs and she was calm and gave lots of kisses. Mabel is good with kids...but is strong and tends to use her mouth when playing and nips. It is recommended that she is with children 10 and older. She will also sneak out the front door when the kids open it, and it's quite a game for her as you try to coax her back to the house...but she will come back if you don't chase her! Border Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOATION: Twin Falls, ID Do you need a little firecracker in your life? Look no further! This little 5 month old, 8 pound terrier pup masquerades as your average, run-of-the-mill puppy but he is ACTUALLY quite incredible. This little ball of energy came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after being dumped at a local shelter. Jack Jack is a ball of terrier energy with a gruff little voice to match! He will happily snuggle on your lap or on your feet, but only after his body and mind have been amply exercised. He joins his foster mom and doggie sisters on their jogging days with energy to spare and enjoys two walks on alternate days. He will ... (Read More)really need a home where he will get daily exercise with long runs/walks, if you don't exercise daily please don't apply for this high energy boy. Jack Jack is immensely smart and can learn tricks simply by observing other dogs. Most of his at-home training is helping him redirect his tenacious desire to follow his nose anywhere, including out the door and down the street in a flash. He has begun to sit-stay when the front door opens but still needs help restraining his enthusiasm for solo adventures (remember he is just a puppy). This natural desire to track should be exercised by playing structured games with his people or with treats; it could even be put to use in a competition sport such as Barn Hunt. Jack Jack can use a dog door, a puppy bell, is starting to get the hang of potty training, knows to sit for his food, and is learning to come when called. He has been introduced to the crate but he is still unhappy for the first few minutes. He will need a very secure yard and should not be left outside unattended (remember he is very smart and inquisitive). Jack Jack is extremely friendly and really open to new situations; his foster mom thinks he would make a really great therapy dog when he gets older and learns to control his energy. This scruffy character will keep you on your toes with his giant terrier attitude and intense focus. He should not be in a home with small children, large breed dogs or cats. Jack Jack is super cute, super fun and is a cuddly sweet boy; however he is ALL terrier and he has a strong will and a mind of his own, which is easily dealt with via exercise and training. He has a HUGE amount of energy. His new family absolutely must be willing to give him daily, structured exercise or else he'll become destructive and loud. Jack Jack is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. If are you looking for a sweet, active and ready to go companion Jack Jack might just be your boy. If you think you can meet his needs, please complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $200 adoption fee for Jack Jack (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-05-03-00025Logan (male)

Pug    Age: Adult

Meet Logan Logan, or Logi the Bear as his foster family likes to call him, is distinguished black pug with a silver face. Logan is 7-8 years old and just LOOOOOVES people. In fact, if it was up to him, he'd love to always be near his people so he doesn't miss opportunities to love them! FOMO (fear of missing out) is a good way to describe Logan, he can't miss out on the action there's just too much love to share. For example, he will hangout in the hallway near his foster family's bedrooms until everyone goes to bed before putting himself to bed. All that said, Logan is not overly needy - he's a gentle, loving, sweetheart. Logan would ... (Read More)make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a low-key dog to love. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He likes kids but would do better in a family with older children who won't be too rough with him since suffers from stiff back hips and legs that cause him to walk a little funny. This loving guy doesn't let stiff back legs slow him down, he's definitely mobile. Logan is housebroken but has a little issue with incontinence - when he gets excited he may have a little poop accident. He loves his people so much that he would never do it on purpose. The thing his foster family loves the most is 'his gentle heart and soul, he has such a sweet spirit.' Odin is deaf and moves slow in his older age but if he sees or hears his people he loves to be their shadow. Odin would love to find a family where he can spend his golden years doing what he loves most - being held or sitting next to his people. His foster mom's favorite thing about Odin is that 'he's just a quite, mellow old dude. But when I come in from work he pushes his way to front of the grumble for loving.' Rescue Me ID: 16-05-02-00536Pixie (female)

Cairn    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID Pixie is a 10 year old purebred Cairn Terrier who along with her brother Bingo is sadly in need of a new home. Pixie came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when her human mom had to move into a nursing home where she could no longer have this bundle of joy. Pixie is fun little dog who enjoys sunbathing in the backyard but when it gets chilly she is right there next to you on the couch. Just pick up her leashes she will run to you with tail wagging. Potentially life threatening noise coming from outside? She will let you know. Want to play? She will let you know. Need to refill the water bowl? She will let you know. Front door ... (Read More)left open? She will adventure without you. Pixie is an amazing dog, she only has partial vision in one eye and is completely blind in the other due to Glaucoma. She sometimes bumps into things but never fails to be very adventurous and happy to be wherever you are. Any new person is someone to try to get pets from and any new dog is someone to try to play with. Because of the eye troubles she does require daily eye drops twice a day. She also just had five teeth removed so she will be adjusting to that - but she never lost her chipper attitude and still loves going to the vet because she knows the vet will pet her. The UTI was left untreated for so long that she developed weakened muscles in her bladder and will need to be on Prion for the rest of her life. She cannot walk continuously for very long before getting tired - anything over a mile and a half I end up carrying her back. She also pees very frequently on walks as an after effect of the UTI. She is at risk for a reoccurrence of another UTI in the future so lots of water for this girl and a prescription diet may be in her future. Please don't let her eyes or her bladder issues scare you off; Pixie is the sweetest little girl in the world. She craves human contact and has a long and happy life ahead of her. Pixie is good with other dogs and would do best with another dog in the house that she can follow around. She would do best with no cats in her home and no kids under 15 please. She would love to live in a home where someone is home most of the time. If Pixie sounds like your perfect dog, fill out an application today at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and his foster parent will call you!! Cairn    Age: Senior

Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Bingo is a 10 year old purebred Cairn Terrier who along with his siser Pixie is sadly in need of a new home. Bingo came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his human mom had to move into a nursing home where she could no longer have this bundle of joy. If you let him, Bingo will sleep on your lap whenever he is not eating or walking. Just pick up his leash and he will run to you with tail wagging. Potentially life threatening noise coming from outside? He will let you know. Want to play? He will let you know. Need to refill the water bowl? He will let you know. Front door left open? He will adventure without you. Bingo ... (Read More)really is just a cuddle buddy. He is slower to warm up to other dogs than his sister (he sometimes barks at other dogs while we are out walking), but once he gets introduced he tries playing. As with many males, when he gets real excited he starts to hump and for the first few days he will try marking your house, but if you keep telling him no he will stop (and a belly band is also a great tool). Bingo loves playing and chasing birds and squirrels out of the back yard. He goes on hunger strikes trying to convince you to feed him human food or fancy wet food, don't fall for his trap. While he likes his food a little softened with water he will also eat dry food. When one of his foster dog brothers doesn't finish his food Bingo goes and eats it - he doesn't hate dog food- he just wants to be special. He will eat human food off the table if you leave it unattended. He begs while you cook in hopes you will drop something. He was a wee bit spoiled in his previous home, but is learning better manners in his foster home. Bingo is house trained and while not exactly crate trained if you put him in one when you are gone he will lay down and take a nap. As we said he loves to go for a walk every day and is fair on leash; getting excited at birds, squirrels and other dogs along the way. This handsome little man needs a kid free home and probably cat free also. He would love to have someone who is home most of the time but that is not a requirement. He will do fine with another dog (female is better or a calm male) or as the only dog.     Hello, I'm Rainey!! Rainey is a 1 1/2 year old American Pitbull Terrier that is full of love and life!! She LOVES attention and going on car rides, as well as snuggling with her family! Rainey does well with both large and small dogs but might be too much for cats to handle. Rainey LOVES kids of all ages but could knock down the youngest because of her wiggle butt! Rainey is ready for her furever family and is potty trained, up to date on vaccinations, and spayed. She is still not very fond of a crate so she would need continued crate training. She is okay on leash but needs some extra work. Ask to meet Rainey today!

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-27-00221Sage (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sage is a German Shepherd/Samoyed mix to the best of our guessing ability; she is about 6 years old and she has had a rough life up to the point where she came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue. This super sweet girl is gentle and has a very soft personality. She is shy and very reserved and will keep her distance with strangers until she feels comfortable with them. She needs time to warm up to new people but if you are willing to give her a bit she will prove to be totally worth it and loyal to a fault. Sage is also smart and easy to live with. She is crate trained and will go in with the simple command of 'go to bed'. ... (Read More) Sage is dog door trained and walks great on a lead! She is not a digger, chewer or jumper! She stays off of furniture unless she is invited and has shown no signs of sleeping on the bed with her foster person. She rides great in the car and it very quiet unless something startles her in the backyard. Good with other dogs; doing great with both the senior and younger dog in her foster home. Though dogs that are pushy overwhelm her and she will keep her distance. We do know that Sage is not good with cats and that she has killed chickens in the past. Sage was pretty sick when we took her in and it was a long road to recovery but she pulled through with flying colors. To keep her healthy and strong she will need a good healthly diet (grain free and salmon protein), regular exercise and remember she has a double coat so will need regular brushing. This beauty would do well with adults who will get her out and about, hikes would be fine but Sage is also happy with just a good daily walk. We do require no kids in Sages home under the age of 15 due to her being so shy. A quieter calm home environment would be best; but we want people for her that will continue to get her out and about to help break her out of her shyness. Sage is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and recently had a dental. If you feel you can offer this sweet girl the forever loving home she deserves, please complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $40 adoption fee for Sage (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-27-00201Moxie (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Don't let the gray muzzle fool you, young Moxie is only about 3 years old! Moxie is a ~7 lb chi mix who is an outgoing, energetic, and playful girl. If you throw any toy, she will chase it. She quickly made friends with the 2 other dogs in her foster home and even keeps up with the 8 month puppy! Her foster home also has cats, and while she sometimes gets excited and wants to play with them, she usually leaves them alone. She was being passed up for a while at the Humane Society (most likely due to her coloring) so Fuzzy Pawz Rescue stepped in to foster and get to know her so she could find a perfect home. ... (Read More)Moxie would do best in a household with another playful dog to be best friends with and one that has PLENTY of toys. Give her a toy box and she will gladly take one toy out every now and then and entertain herself. She is crate trained and will sleep quietly through the night. She is also good for a cuddle during nap time. Moxie is a joy to take on walks, she is leashed trained and is ready to go wherever you want to go! Moxie is house trained, although she needs frequent chances to go outside. So far it looks like Moxie doesn't know too many basic commands but she is catching on to 'sit' after a few days so she is eager to learn and earn her treats. Overall Moxie is a fun and easy going dog that would love to have a backyard to sprint around in and some doggie buddies to hang and play with. We feel she would do really well in almost any home. Moxie is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Maggie Mae!!! Maggie entered our rescue months ago and has spent valuable time with one of our rehab fosters who specializes in small dog behavioral issues. Maggie has gone from a terrified and trembling mess who would not voluntarily leave her crate and would nip at anyone who tried to grab her (especially men), to a sweet girl that just needs time to warm up to you and needs a person or couple to respect her and nurture her progress. She now snuggles with her foster mom AND her foster dad, she was terrified of him for some time. It is impossible to know what a horrible past life little Maggie had before she came to us but with the ... (Read More)experienced hand of her foster she has improved leaps and bounds, and is now ready for her furever home to the right family. It is impossible to know what a horrible past life little Maggie had before she came to us but with the experienced hand of her foster she has improved leaps and bounds, and is now ready for her furever home to the right family. We estimate Maggie to be about 6 years old so she has years of spunky life ahead. She had some bad teeth so she has had a few extractions and a teeth cleaning. Maggie is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She is potty trained and crate trained. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Maggie does NOT do well with children of any age and will not be placed in a home with them. Grandchildren must NOT be allowed to come near her. Her stress levels rise and she will bite. Maggie is cat reactive so we will be looking for a home with no cats accessible to her. Maggie DOES do well with other dogs big and small as long as they don't torment or intimidate her. If you would like to adopt Maggie and meet her you must understand that the initial meeting will be awkward for Maggie and may seem like it did not go well. For Maggie we will extend the Trial Adoption period to allow flexibility for Maggie. Her adoption fee is $100. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive

Rex is very close to perfect. We just can't figure out why he ended up in the shelter. He's honestly such a good boy. He has only been with us a couple of weeks and he loves his new home and friends at ANH. He was tickled to get back to the shelter after he went for his vet visit. He ran up and down the fences like, guys I'm home, I'm ok and I'm back. All his buddies were very happy to see him too. We have a fun, happy bunch. Rex is about 2 years old. Just not sure of his mix but what ever he is, he's cute. He minds incredibly well. He sits politely for treats, comes running when called and loves to play with toys. He ... (Read More)really likes to have a doggie friend to play with and waits at each yard for them to come out to play. He's a watcher, very quiet but also very inquisitive. He wants to be with his people. He is totally potty trained and knows how to use a pet door. He would love an inside home. He'd like an active family who would let him be part of fun. He is great with kids and would make his new family so happy. He's a loyal little guy who has so much love to give. Rex is neutered, up on all his shots and micro chipped.     Chloe is such a happy girl now. Dreams do come true. She hasn't always been so lucky to be safe and cared for. The bad part of her life is over now and we will make sure she is on her way to the wonderful life she deserves. Chloe is about 4 years old. She is absolutely beautiful and huge. :) She's definitely a gentle giant. She is partially deaf. We are all learning doggie sign together and Chloe is doing fantastic. Her eye sight may be just a bit impaired. She can sure keep an eye on her toys though. Since she has such sparkling blue eyes, some sun shades would be a good idea when she was playing outside. She loves to play. ... (Read More):) Chloe loves the water. She loves to drink out of the hose, chase the sprinkler and rain drops and play in every puddle she can find. Chloe loves to snuggle and she loves attention. A big soft bed and lots of chew bones are a must. Chloe would be better off being the only dog. She would do best in a home with no kitties or small children. Sometimes not being able to hear when someone comes from behind startles her. She needs to feel safe and she needs to learn to trust. Rescue Me ID: 16-03-07-00315Penny (female)

Pointer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] LOCATION: Twin Falls, ID Penny is a 2.5 year old, 50 pound, red and white female Pointer mixed who sadly is looking for a new home because her family does not have the financial resources and the set schedule to care for her any longer. You see sweet Penny with the heart of gold gets seizures. In October of 2015 Penny was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy (probably genetic, no underlying cause). She is currently on Phenobarbital twice a day to control her seizures. They happen about 1-2 times a month. Within 15 minutes of having a seizure, Penny is back to her normal, cheerful self. She has not ... (Read More)displayed any side effects from the Phenobarbital and the vet says she may go on to live a normal life with the exception of occasional seizures. Penny is very good about taking her medication and thinks it's a treat. Currently Penny is having to visit the vet after a seizure so the vet can evaluate her medication and change her dosage of pheno. Her family was spending about $150 a month on vet visits and medication(medication $60, rest is bloodwork); once the correct dose can be found these costs will drop but she will need to see a vet on a regular basis. Penny will need a family with a fairly set routine who can administer her pills on a set schedule (this will also help regulate her medication). All of that being said Penny is totally worth it! She is one amazing dog with a TON to give back to her people. She does great with everyone she meets; she loves kids and is even very gentle with babies. She will happily rough house with older kids if allowed, but she is smart enough to know when she shouldn't. She reads people really well. Penny loves to meet new people; she wants pets from everyone and enjoys nothing more than snuggling up to her family. If you are looking for a happy go-lucky, greeter at your front door (or anywhere for that matter) Penny is your girl. Penny is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and knows basic commands (sit, stay, lie down, shake, fetch, and she'll dance with you!). She loves to get in the car or truck to go on adventures, where she stays close and checks in often. Penny does well in the car on long trips. She loves to play all day with other dogs. She has only been around cats a couple of times but didn't seem too interested in chasing them. She would likely try to initiate play, so only dog savvy cats please! This lovely girl has a high energy level and needs a lot of exercise. She has been an excellent running partner and happily goes on runs as long as 30 miles. She's great on and off-leash, and nearly explodes with excitement when she sees her leash. If you are looking for an enthusiastic walking/running partner, she's perfect. Overall, she is a big sweetheart. Penny is a lovely girl with a lot to offer a family that is looking for a kid friendly, happy, active girl. Please don't let her seizures scare you off; we promise she is totally worth it. If you feel you can offer this sweet girl the forever loving home she deserves, please complete an adoption application here: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $40 adoption fee for Penny (Less)

He is a ball playing fool and will play all day if someone will throw the ball. He loves to go for walks and is getting better on leash. At first he was afraid of the leash, not anymore. Everything is a fun adventure. He sits very politely for treats, kennels when asked and loves to snuggle. Luke is great with ... (Read More)other dogs. He also loves kids. He would make such an amazing family member. He would love to go hiking and camping. He would love to have a family of his own. He so deserves a second chance at happiness because he tries so hard to make everyone around him happy. Luke is neutered, up on his vaccinations and micro chipped. He is potty trained and quite the little charmer. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. (Less)

American Bulldog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Valley is a 2-3 year old female Bulldog mix. She has the cutest personality and is always making her Foster family laugh. She came into rescue when her time was up at a high kill shelter. She does great with the respectful kids in her Foster family and does well around the cats in the home. Valley is a dominant female and will need a home with one another non-dominant dog or to be the only dog. She loves her belly rubbed and her neck scratched and will sprawl out on her back so you can easily reach both. She knows how to sit, shake, lay down and kennel on command. She is crate trained and potty trained. She will scratch at the door ... (Read More)when she needs to go out and when she wants to come back in. Although she would love to stay outside with you all day, she tends to want to come right back inside if you aren't going to be outside with her. She loves car rides and seeing new things. She's working on walking on a leash without pulling and making good improvements but is not quite there yet. Bloodhound Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Baylee is a 1 1/2 year old Bloodhound/Walker hound mix. She came to us when her time was up at a local shelter so she wouldn't be euthenized. She was an owner surrender and from the looks of it, had at least one litter. She came with absolutely no manners and she has learned the rules of the house very quickly. She loves to use her nose! May possibly work as a search and rescue dog??? She loves to have a job and would do well in an active home. She is crate trained and hasn't had an accident in her foster home. Please remember that hounds are very vocal and she can be quite loud when she gets to baying. If you can't handle the noise ... (Read More)then please don't try to adopt her. She loves her ears rubbed and her belly rubbed. It's vital for her to get her exercise (30-45 minute walk daily or something similar) for her to not have pent up energy. She has been good at not chewing inappropriately but loves her buffalo horn. She is extremely interested in cats but hasn't hurt them . . . just very nosey. Rescue Me ID: 16-01-27-00173Sammy (male)

Maltese Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Meet Sammy! Sammy is a 9 year old Maltese/Poodle mix who is in need of a loving forever home. Don't let this guy's age fool you! You'd never know he's 9! He's a very active boy who would like to be in a home where he can go on daily walks and continue with his training. He's a smart guy and learns things quickly. He would enjoy another dog to play with, and while he doesn't really know yet how to play nicely, he's learning. He just tries to be dominant, but he gets along very well with the dogs in his foster home as well as the cats. He may try to chase a cat that runs away, but with a firm no this behavior is ... (Read More)easily stopped. Sammy came to Fuzzy Pawz with some pretty bad behaviors; mainly he liked to use his teeth on people to stop them from doing what he didn't like (such as putting on a leash or walking away from him when he wanted attention). This naughty behavior led Sammy to injure his 86 year old original owner's hand and she had to give him up. So while in foster care Sammy has been working on un-learning this behavior; he has been showing a lot of improvement and self-control. Continued training and trust building will be very important. Positive reinforcement only methods are especially important! Because of his behavior issue, he should go to a home with no children. This little guy has a ton of potential with dedicated owners; he simply was allowed to do what he pleased, when he pleased from the time he was a puppy (so 9 years of someone allowing him to be naughty!) This little guy should go to an active home. He loves to play with his people and be very goofy and entertaining; he really is a ton of fun. He would learn some tricks easily and would really enjoy the attention that it brings. When he's been cooped up inside he will pull on the leash, so he should have some leash training as well. He's also house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside, but he does mark inside if not watched and kept on a regular schedule; again this behavior is one that can and should be worked on. Sammy's not dumb, just used to doing what he wants; he's eager to learn. Sammy's coat and ears can get matted, so he will need to have regular brushing to keep it beautiful. This is just an adorable little boy, whose personality makes him even cuter! If you can offer this boy a loving home with structure and rules please complete an adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Sammy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. There is a $100 adoption fee for Sammy. (Less)

Gabe is an older lab mix that came from another rescue that was having a hard time finding him a home. He has lived in rescue his whole life (7-8 years) because he is black and has been overlooked. He hasn't had much outside socialization so it is a scary world for him. Gabe is a dog that just want loves, belly rubs, car rides, and to stay by your side all day if you'll let him. He doesn't care too much for cats but will put up with them. Overall he's very loyal. He gets nervous in new homes and will take a week or so to adjust. Gabe would do best with a single person or a couple with no kids as they tend to make him nervous. He is a ... Pug Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Miley & Macie Miley and Macie are 8 and 9 year old puggle sisters who have been very loved and adored all their lives. Their first family was forced to give them up after their daughter became very allergic to them - it was heartbreaking for Miley, Macie, and their first family. These two ladies are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. They would love to be adopted by a family who will be able to help them heal their broken hearts and give them the individual attention and love they deserve. Miley and Macie are not only adorable, but are angels. Their foster mom says they are fantastic members of the family. These girls ... (Read More)are housetrained and know how to use the doggy door. Miley loves to go for car rides, new social situations, and walks - and loves to compete with her sister Macie for loves from people. Macie is the deep thinker, worrier, and mothering one. She has beautiful, big expressive eyes. When you put Macie on the bed she'll unmake it and rearrange all the pillows and make a nest she's quite proud of - it's one of the few times she'll play. When you pet Macie she'll run away out of arms reach and then briefly run back for another fast pet. She's totally into eye contact and has a really good heart. These girls are quiet, calm, and low maintenance. Until feeding time that is. Like all puggles, these girls LOOOVE to eat (but really, don't we all?!). They won't climb on the furniture to beg, unless you have popcorn which is their personal favorite. The adoption fee for Miley and Macie is $250. If you think your family is missing Miley and Macie please complete the adoption application on PugPals.org http://pugpals.org/forms/adoption-application/ (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Thank goodness these folks stepped up to help Rebel. He has been neutered, is up on his vaccinations and micro chipped. He would love to have an inside home. He would also love room to run and play in a safe fenced yard. Please call Lorrie 208 339 0130 or email kjfam@dcdi.net for an application. We will put you in touch with his foster family so you can hear more wonderful things about this sweet boy. Make this boy's dreams come true and give him a master of his own. Rebel has now out lived his past two owners. It is believed that he has not had much training in his past 4 years. We know he was left of on a chain at least half ... (Read More)of his life. When his elderly master passed away he moved to the city and there it was evident he had no training and was not allowed to stay. His current foster family was told he was going to be taken back to farm and let the elements determine his fate. As soon as they heard about that they asked if he could stay just a few more days so plans could be made to foster this cute boy. When he first came he did not even know how to 'play dog' with his foster sister. He was afraid of car rides and had no dog educate manners. Now he understands he will get food daily. He is potty trained as long as we let him out often and loves to 'play dog' with his foster sister. He finds the cat fascinating but can not resist the temptation to run after him and nip him if he can. (He most likely will not do well with cats.) He will be your watch dog and give you a warning if he hears any new sounds around and be the happiest boy to great you when you come home from work and other outings. We have come a long way with Rebel. He will now go on car rides and likes to look out the window. He will sit at command and has improved on jumping up (still working on this). Unless you have leather shoes he has stopped his chewing, so just keep them out of his reach. He's eager and ready to please his new forever master. While we currently have him in a foster home with a young toddler we think that a home with older kids would be best. He has tender spots we do not touch and we if we do he lets us know he would rather us not, such as his back end and feet. He is a Healer or at least 90% Healer and acts like one! He would love to be your best friend. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Idaho
Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year.

Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog!
