He is an extremely loving dog. The reason why I put aggressive is because he has bad allergies that cause him extreme discomfort at times and can cause him to get aggravated. He can be a grumpy 'old' man (hell be 3 in July so not so old haha) he is a great dog, he needs someone who is willing to be strict with him and know he has a boss. He's such a good dog. He knows basic commands. Someone dumped him by our house a couple years ago. Lately he has become aggresive, mostly to little animals. We have two cats that he has never hurt. He does sit on them or hold them down with his paw, but has never bitten them. In the last couple of months he has bitten two small dogs and a cat. I think he killed the cat. However, the animals were either in our fenced yard or by the gate when he got them. The neighbors on both sides of us have small children and animals. This is Dorrie, short for Adorable. She is a 4 year old purebred mini-Schnauzer, very small (except kind of overweight spoiled right now). My immediate problem is that we are moving and the landlord says 1 dog. My other dog is a pit bull (they will accept him) and my hopes for getting him re-homed are slim. Dorrie is not great with small kids, but perfect as an older person's lap dog. She is marginally housebroken, however, so that needs work. Rocco is a 7 year old, neutered male rat terrier. He is as sweet as they come. He came to us from a local animal control where he was brought in as a stray and stayed for a month waiting for his owner to come and get him.... but he/she never did. Due to the length of time he was living in a cage he is relearning proper potty training habits and he is getting better everyday. Unfortunately, his owner did not keep up with proper dental care for Rocco and as a result this poor guy had to have 17 teeth extracted! Blaze came to us from a hoarding case in Kentucky. He is young- between 10 months to a year. He is new to our program so we are still learning his personality, but from what we know of him so far he is friendly with people. If you talk to him he will sit and just wag his tail. Max has never been around males, and doesn't really know what to make of them. I am a handler at the shelter, and I have been working with max on a daily basis and I really see the good in him. I recently dog tested max and he did wonderful. One of the male handlers was getting out of max's cage and max nipped him so max is currently on quarentine until 05-16-13.
