Shayli is a great family dog. We rescued her from a shelter in Hattisburg, MS five years ago because she was going to be put to sleep. We have had many people at our house, both children and adults and she gets along great. She actually helped raise our cat which was thrown in our ditch as a newborn. Here is the problem: We trained all three of our rescues to stay in the backyard using a hidden fence but Shayli continues to escape. She always comes back but has a problem with chasing bikes. We've had Gypsy since she was a pup. She's extremely intelligent but does not do well in situations where others are receiving a lot of attention and she isn't. She likes to be the center of attention and would thrive in an environment where this is possible. She growled at my son and he is disabled this is why I'm having to find a home for her. I'm hoping whoever adopts her lives in Lafayette, Louisiana so I can continue to be a part of her life. Although I listed her energy level as average when she is happy about something she is all over the place. She is her happiest when running. An example of how smart she is is when she was a pup she loved to run-she would start in my son's bedroom run over me continue her run on the sofa and circle back. As she got older I explained to her that she was getting heavier and running over me was getting a bit much. Without skipping a beat she continues her run sails over me and circles back. Meet Sandy (short for Sandifur)! Sandy is approximately 11 or 12 years old. I found him around 2002, at which time he was already an adult. I'm not sure if he is a purebred Golden, but he resembles one really closely. He is freshley shaven in this picture and normally has a soft, fluffy coat of fur. He is well behaved, housebroken, and good with children, cats, and other dogs. He is neutered. He is such a wonderful dog and companion. I have a pitbull that we found under a car a few years bad. She has been ok with our other two dogs until recently. Her and one of my other dogs have been getting into fights recently and have hurt each other pretty good on two occasions. She has no problems with my other dog.
