I'm on my iphone so it will not allow me to upload a photo. Lola is a beautiful dog. She is the perfect mix. She is sweet, obedient, and full of love. She JUST turned 2. She is well trained and a good hiking companion....and a good traveler as well as cuddler. The problem is her owners have had slight aggression issues with her towards other dogs. Shes had one incident but EVERY time i have taken her hiking or just to the park she has never exhibited this behavior. She has been in my care around other dogs and had no issues what so ever. Buddy came to me about 6 months ago from a person that had abused him. Buddy does well for the most part accepting people. However, he doesn't do well with young children. After a very long process, Buddy will for the most part go outside to go to the bathroom, however, he does have accidents. He would do best with one person or two the most. I can't devote as much attention to him as he needs. This is breaking my heart, but feel it is best. Buddy loves to be held, and around someone. Diesel is a wonderful old little man, I have had him for 11 years. He did have elevated liver levels and he was treated for it. He also has had diarrhea for the past 4 months, but i must say, Diesel does not have accidents in the house at all. He is a very good boy, just mildly aggressive towards kids and other dogs. I love diesel so much but i am pregnant with my 2nd child and I am on bed rest and physically unable to care for a toddler and 2 dogs. The pilot that helped rescue her by flying her to Charleston nicknamed her 'licks a lot.' Pippa is a lover and a snuggler. She is very obedient and wants to please people. She really perks up around teenagers and absolutley loved it when they had sleepovers! Pippa is also a good bed partner, but can sleep in a crate. Pippa would be best in a home with a family. She loves her foster parents and her teenage brothers and sisters. She also likes to play outside! Pippa's foster mom was sick early on in their relationship. Pippa insisted on staying by her side even through the night. She is very loyal and caring. Pippa is also perceptive of people! Such a smart girl! Dogs can make good pets in Massachusetts if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized.
