It is with immense sadness that we have decided to rehome our beloved baby girl Reagan. We rescued her about six years ago. She is roughly seven years, and we believe she may have some Golden Retriever in her (amongst other breeds, she is a true blue mutt). She is highly intelligent, easy to train, loves running, watching birds and snuggling. We are looking for a forever home that has no children or other dogs. She may be ok with cats, but other small animals are not suggested. She would thrive in an environment where her owners love being outside, have some experience with dogs and are willing to spend time with her providing appropriate ... (Read More)boundaries. We rescued Mercedes April 2011. She loves water and other dogs. She has nipped at 5 kids. She gets nervous when kids are running around and being loud. She has never broken skin. We are moving and unable to take Rascal with us. We have had him since he was six weeks old and loves our daughters(ages 2 and 8)and feline tremendously. Rascal is fun loving, loyal and loves the outdoors. Rascal is on medication for seizures,although he hasn't experienced one in 3+ years... seizures are mild and non-aggressive. Male shihtzu, 8 years old, medium size for the breed, very handsome, champagne colored. Gets along well with a quiet and affectionate adult. Becomes moody on occasion and has an aggressive streak, no biting, but will lunge and bark. This happens rarely. Could be described as mostly happy with a touch of moodiness. Sadi is an all white husky we rescued from a puppy mill. She is one of two huskies that we took, both are loving and sweet. Sadi is great with other dogs she lived with at least two dogs most of her life. She is also great with people, we have not had her around too many children under the age of 12 but I do think she would do well with them. Never barks... even when someone is coming in your house. We adore this dog but with a family of 7 are finding we dont have the time to give this breed of dog what it needs. She wants to be outside, all types of weather so a back yard is a must. Female, American bull dog mix, not deaf. does better with older kids, as she still has puppy needs training, so far with all dogs she met only got along with two dogs, so she needs to go into a only dog family. She is house trained, where she is now she is kenneled a lot as she does not get along with the dog in the house. She was saved from death row and just needs a family that has no dogs or cats and room for her to run and play. Digger is a 1 year old cutie pie that does very well with people. He lives with a male boxer two kids ages 3 & 11 and one cat. He gets along with other dogs as well but mostly with unfixed males he seems to have an issue with. Pepper on the left (male born June 2006) Cupcake on the right (female born Jan 2004) Both dogs are purebred and are current on shots. Pepper has no health issues / Cupcake has controlled diabetes. Both dogs have been together for about 6 years, are litter box trained, and enjoy walks, although Cupcake likes being carried. Pepper is spry yet a bit shy. Cupcake is laid back. Three years ago we picked Jaxson up in Bath Maine from a women who rescues dogs from kill shelters. He had a hole in his ear and bites all over him and had mange. After months of love and attention and bringing him into our lives he became the best dog for my husband and I. Unfortunately for Jaxson, the family started to grow and now we have a 7 month old. Jaxson loves him to pieces but our little one is allergic to him. He has been very good with our baby and loves all kids and adults. Dogs can make good pets in New Hampshire if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized.
