Being the silly boy I am, I tried to put both in my mouth. I pull a bit on my leash when I am excited, but that's just because I'm cooped up much of the day now. With regular exercise, I'll be walking like a show dog in no time. [Read About Natural Cancer Care] Found this boy walking down my street. He obeys commands 'sit', 'come', and 'lay down', we are working on 'down' and 'bad'. He is house trained. He has been staying in a room in our basement because we have a dog of our own who he did not get along with, probably because he was being protective of me when we introduced them. He seems to prefer women, but acts well around men and young teens. He is a bit skiddish/nervous with sounds, and is very needy for attention. Dottie was found alone on the streets of Paterson, NJ. She is extremely thin, has multiple bite marks over her entire body, and her one ear is badly bitten and torn. Her injuries are so severe she is currently having emergency surgery to try and repair all the damage that's been done to her. We're hoping they can save her ear. Our vet said Dottie is young, only 7-8 months old, and is very sweet and timid. Just the kind of qualities the loathsome, ungodly dog fighter looks for in a bait dog. Meet Duke, a 4-5 year old Flat Coat Retriever mix. He was surrendered to the shelter with his 2-3 year old brother because his owners were 'moving'. This little 10 month old pup is super cute peeping out of her kennel in the shelter. She is a bundle of puppy energy, but what is funny about her is, as playful as she gets, if you say sit'|she immediately sits. Lala is gentle taking treats from you but is still a little puppy mouthy. But those are puppy issues and will pass with a little training. She is very cute and affectionate. Crystal is a young American Bulldog and with the looks of those short legs and wide chest stance she has some English Bulldog mixed in her way back when. She knows how to sit and attempts to do a down. She seemed very food motivated and interested in doing the down, so she probably will be a good student. She is playful, energetic, and had no resource guarding issues. She had no idea what a rawhide was but she had a good food test. No pigeons for this girl as she loved to chase them away from us. Sweet Johnny is a bit shy and submissive but spend some time with him and as soon as he gets to know you he perks up. He is very sweet and gentle with everything. His breed is so hard to tell. You can see those Dalmatian spots running thru his coat so that may be one of his many relatives. He is easy to walk & treats ever so gently but had no idea what toys or a raw hide was. He is frightened of other dogs. Good food test. Nice shy guy. Only 12 months old and I think the young dog is afraid of all the big dogs barking in the shelter. He would never run away (we've accidentally left our back gate open and he just walks around to the front door and waits there.) We're looking for a home for him that wants a happy, active dog to cuddle with at night, play with during the day, take on family trips, etc. A family or owner that will love him as much as we do and has the ability to spend time with him like we will no longer will be able to. He is fine by himself during the day (he hasn't been crated since he was a puppy and just sleeps on the couch while we're at work) but obviously we would not want him in a home where someone is gone for like 10 hours a day, every day.
