I have 2 male pits that I need to find homes for. Hektor (brown) and Achilles (white/brindle) are liter mates and have lived together their whole lives. This being said- they are brothers, and maybe better if separated as they do fight at times. Other than that they are very good dogs. They are great with the kids and very loyal. I really love these dogs and I hate to see them go, however I work a lot and simply do not have time for them. Charlie is a very sweet loving boy looking for his forever home. Charlie does okay with other dogs but would be best without the competition. Cats are okay in Charlie's book, although he does like to chase them every once in a while. He loves, LOVES, kids. He has a fantastic temperament and if you have a kid that would be willing to share their bed with him, he would be delighted. If that kid would want to play ball, even better. Charlie has had issues with chewing things but after having to go to the vet and regurgitate a teenager's bra, he's not chewed anything other than toilet paper. He LOVES toilet paper and will eat it like a spaghetti noodle. It's my belief that his anxiety would be better served with a person that can give him regular activity. We've had her for about 8 years from a pup. She recently bit (nipped) at a jogger running down our sidewalk. She has nipped at other dogs walking down the sidewalk with their owners. We have another dog with whom she very often fights with and then the two dogs really go at it hard, and both are bloody by the time we intervene (if we dare.) In general Bandit is very calm and has always been really good around children. She's protective around adult strangers, but besides barking hasn't been a problem. We have been fostering him for six months and have decided it's time for a forever home! He has been through a lot- kennel cough, sarcoptic mange, and a dog bite. However now, he is a healthy boy! He loves to hike and spend time in the mountains. He is off leash trained, house trained, and he loves to sleep in his crate at night. He does not chew furniture, he is not a destroyer dog. Rocky is a sweet companion. I need to find him a loving home that will walk him and play ball with him. I do not have his papers but was told by original owner that his father was a champion. He is very well mannered. His only issue is that he can be agressive towards other dogs. We have experienced 5 altercations, on leash and off leash. Dogs can make good pets in Utah if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized.
