![]() ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 18-04-18-00153Duncan (male)
![]() My name is Duncan! I'm a 1 1/2 year old male Border Collie/Lab mix looking for a furever home. I'm a smart, casual boy who loves spending time with my humans. I make friends easily with people and dogs, since I'm young and energetic I tend to jump on people when I'm excited so small kids should be extra careful.... Duncan has shown interest in cats with no cause for worries so far. Sweet Duncan has been diagnosed with dysplasia in a hip and elbow, so he's not able to continue service dog training. He will limp on the front leg if allowed too much play and no outward symptoms at the hip. Exercise should be low-stress, he'll be content with a ... (Read More)fenced yard to play in and would love a family who will use mental enrichment games or teach low impact tricks. Duncan is house trained, knows some basic commands and he loves to learn! Duncan is neutered, chipped and vaccinated. ![]() ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 18-04-16-00522Tucker (male)
![]() Tucker is literally the best chihuahua you'll ever come across. Hands down. He's about 2-3 yrs old. Black with two white socks in the back. He doesn't bark at the door when visitors come, he doesn't bark at dogs on the street, he's very quiet and submissive and LOVES to get up under the covers to snuggle right next to you, and sits quietly and calmly for car rides. He comes when called and can walk off-leash without bolting away, he's also house trained and knows 'sit' when motivated just right. He's shy but will come army-crawling towards you, ears back, tail wagging, because he simply can't help the call for attention. Seriously, all this ... (Read More)lil boy wants is some love. He's lived here in my apartment for only a few days, perfectly harmonious with my small lovebird and two cats and boyfriend. Now, about the 'arthritis'(it's not really, I just couldn't find an option for what he has): We adopted Tucker from a kill shelter a day before my birthday (04/12/18), and took him to the vet today (04/16/18) only to find out that he has severe muscle atrophy in his back left leg because of a injured tendon that is also causing knee displacement and fluid buildup in the joints. (he seemed totally fine before I adopted him, but as soon as we got home I noticed a slight limp). He could either be on medication for the rest of his life or get it surgically fixed, which unfortunately, is a few thousand dollars that we don't have. (And what's even more upsetting is, of course, the shelter will not guarantee or take any responsibility for temperament or physical health issues, but when I adopted him, they gave me a document stating an at-a-glance 'clean bill of health'... so riddle me that. Regardless, it freakin kills me, and my boyfriend and I are devastated... but we want to do right by this little man and find him a forever home that can care for him in ways we currently just can't. Other than the leg, he's fine and happy as can be. I would keep him if I could in a heart beat, but our financial options are limited when it comes to hefty expenses such as this at the moment. Please, someone help this loving dog. I just want what's best for him :,( (Less) ![]() ![]() Salt Lake County Orem, UT MAP IT! ![]()

![]() Kay-ci is about to turn 9 years old but is about as sweet and low maintence as you can get! Well, as sweet as you can get with any adult, but she should not be in a home with children (at all) or any other pets as she does have a history of aggression with both. She is house broken and knows many commands such as sit, stay, roll over and is easily trained. Her ideal home would be where she would be the only pet and with an owner who want a companion to cuddle and love on as much as possible as her favorite place is on the couch watching some tv in your lap. ![]() ![]() Weber County Roy, UT MAP IT! ![]()

He has improved a great deal since he came to us, but he still needs a savvy dog person to help him be the best he can be. He is very loyal and affectionate and is very responsive. He is too reactive to be in a home with children. ![]() ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 18-04-07-00402Girl (female)
![]() Hi there - I have a unique situation and I'm hoping you can help me out. I lost my husband about 2 years ago to an unexpected accident. He had 2 children that we shared custody with their mother and as a family unit, we had two dogs. When my late husband passed away, the children went with their mother and the dogs went with me. Since that time, I've made a lot of progress in re-building my life (which hasn't been easy). I've been living with roommates who have helped me take care of the dogs during this time, but I'm ready to start a new chapter and venture out on my own. The problem is, I have a successful (yet busy) career and I'm afraid ... (Read More)I won't be able to give them the care and attention they need or deserve. I work long hours, and while they are kennel trained, I don't want to see them cooped up all night and most of the day while I'm working. If this were a normal situation, I would just try to place them for adoption and find them a sustainable home. However, the problem is that the children are attached to the dogs and I'm trying to find a way for them to still be able to visit their beloved pets occasionally. Their family already has pets so they're unable to adopt the dogs themselves, but would still enjoy the opportunity (if it's possible) to see the dogs a couple of times a year. I know this is a strange request, but I feel the need to put it out there to see if anyone can assist in finding a home for our family pups - a home that might be willing to let my kiddos visit from time to time. They are struggling to cope with the loss of their dad, and I wish I were in a situation that was more compatible with raising and caring for the dogs myself. It was easier when we were all living together as a family because we all took care of them and played with them together. But now it's just me, and I've been forced to increase my work load to be able to afford all of our bills on a single income (where there were two of us before). Here's a little more about my 2 woofs: The white one (male/'Koda') is a pure-bred miniature American Eskimo. He came from a breeder, I'm sure I have his papers somewhere. The brown one (female/ her name is 'Girl') is from a litter of Koda's puppies. The mother is a black lab/blue heeler mix. Koda was born on 10-11-12 and girl on 3-5-14. They have been raised in a loving home with lots of attention. They have always been our travel companions and went everywhere with us (camping, fishing, boating, you name it). They love car rides because they know they will soon be enjoying the outdoors - the words 'wanna go for a ride?' literally make them jump for joy, they get so excited. They have spent a lot of time around kids and other dogs, and are trained and well-behaved. They are a little hyperactive right now because they spend the majority of their time in a kennel, but if able to roam and be left out, they are generally very calm. Since they have been raised together, we would prefer they stay together but if that's not possible we understand. Hopefully you can help, or maybe you know of someone that might be a good fit for our situation. Please feel free to email me at crystal.coburn@ymail.com if you have any questions or to discuss further. Thanks so much for your time. ![]() Dexter is a 6 yr old Chihuahua. He really loves attention and will breakdance for you or grab your hand to pet him if you are close enough. He is a ball of energy and has so much love to give. He does very good on a leash and loves walks. He is very curious so would need to always be on a leash when going for walks. He loves to play fetch with his toys and will play tug of war with you when he brings it back. He loves to follow you wherever you go. He needs reminder when in a new place about potty outside. He will go on potty pads usually so could use those until he remembers to go outside. He has done very good with other dogs, but ... (Read More)has only been around small dogs so I'm not sure how he would do with bigger dogs. He is best friends with the cat (they are the same size) and they love to play. I think he would do best in a home with older kids. He has just had a complete dental. (Less) ![]() ![]() Paws for Life Utah 635 Airport Rd Utah County Heber, UT 84032 MAP IT! ![]()

![]() He is a great 4.5 year old dog, we got him when he was 8 wks old. Kota has had a hard time adjusting to sharing mom since his human sister was born 2 yrs ago. He is a very loyal dog and loves to be spoiled and sit in your lap. He's completely trained and listens fairly well. He's usually a very calm dog but does get excited when we return home. He loves to sleep and lay around, but also loves to run and play outside occasionally. Kota has kind of removed himself and almost acts depressed even more since we had another baby last month. He is fine with kids just has a jealousy issue towards our kids. I miss seeing his happy go lucky ... (Read More)personality and want him to feel loved again. Ideally someone with no kids and will hangout and watch tv with him on their lap. (13 lbs) (Less) ![]() ![]() Davis County Farmington, UT MAP IT! ![]()

![]() ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 18-02-24-00362Hank (male)
![]() This is Hank. He is a 4-year-old flat-coated retriever looking for his FOREVER home. Hank is up to date on his vaccinations and takes a heartworm preventative regularly. Hank is a very sweet, fun-loving dog who loves to play outside and go on walks. He has to go to a home where he can be taken on multiple good walks a day, and somewhere that has a yard he can run and play in- no apartments. Hank has been an indoor dog his entire life, so he has to go to a home where he can remain an indoor dog. He needs an owner who will take the time to play WITH him, not someone who will just put him outside all day to play alone. He is a social dog and ... (Read More)needs consistent social interaction with his family, as well as other dogs. He loves to go to the park, dog parks, and especially Tanner park where he can run and play in the water. The lifestyle he is used to has to continue and remain consistent, and he needs to go to a home with someone who also lives an active lifestyle and can commit to his physical needs. Hank is a special part of our family, and this is one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. He was our first baby, but unfortunately he isn't getting along well with our human babies, and sadly because of this we have to find him a new home. He needs to go to a home where there are no small children, grandchildren, or any other children regularly around. So if you have young kids, grandkids, run a day care, have neighborhood kids over regularly, or plan on having children ANYTIME in the future, Hank will not be a good fit for your family. He does fine with older kids (teen age). His breed is expected to live anywhere from 10-15 years, so he still has a long life ahead of him. He has to go to a home that will commit to his entire life span, and that can provide him with a quality and happy life. He needs to go somewhere where he is considered a family member, and will be respected and treated fairly and kindly, and loved at all times. We are charging a re-homing fee to assure he goes to a good loving home. All of his food, dishes, leash, harness, and toys will be sent with him. ![]() Precious is a female mixed breed dog. She is spayed already. I rescued her from a cardboard box that was thrown out of a car window. ![]() ![]() | Rescue Me ID: 18-01-05-00304Alaska (female)
![]() Introducing Alaska! This fun loving pup is very excited to find her forever home. Alaska previously lived in a dog run with little interaction, but now is now looking for a warm bed to sleep on. She is an American Bulldog mix approximately 9 months old. She is good with other dogs and cats. Children over the age of 5 may be the best fit for her as she is energetic and may knock smaller children down. She is crate trained as well. Despite living outdoors most of her life Alaska is remarkably good in the house, she is house trained and has decent manors. She is still a puppy though, so it's important her new home will continue basic training. ... (Read More)She has been started on sit, down, stay, come, place and leash work but, will need an owner willing to keep up on that training. Alaska is a smart girl who picks up on things rather quick and easily, she is very food motivated. She would love another young doggy friend to play with. She loves stuffed toys and will play with them any chance she gets, as far as other toys go she isn't quite sure what they are, but is picking it up by watching the other dogs in her foster home. She will come fully vaccinated and spayed. If you are interested in adding Alaska to your family call Terra at 435-558-0134 or Abigail at 435-633-5614. Her adoption fee is only $150. ![]() We have had our 16 month-old dog, Pippin, since he was 8 weeks old. He is a ~50lb, neutered, house-trained, energetic Lab/Springer Spaniel mix, and is very affectionate and eager to please. He knows basic commands and several tricks, and is very trainable. However, he has a history of unpredictable behavior around other dogs (except our own, older Lab/Boxer mix) and young children. Despite our efforts to correct this behavior, he actually bit our 4yo niece on Christmas Day. He would do well in a home with older or no children, with someone willing to continue training his high energy personality. ![]() ![]() Davis County Centerville, UT MAP IT! ![]()

PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Utah
Dogs can make good pets in Utah if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog! Rescue Me! - HeIpingAnimaIs in Need. | ![]()
