Cocker Spaniel    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Alofa is dearly loved by our family. We got her as a 7 week old puppy. We recently had a baby in July, and with me working full time during the day and my husband at night, she simply is not getting the attention she very clearly desires. I'm very heartbroken to even think of parting ways with her, but I know that this is what is best for her. She needs a home where she can be out of her kennel and preferably somewhere with a backyard because she LOVES to be outside! She has even done great on some off- leash hikes.

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet Bonnie... what a doll! This 10mo old, very sweet girl appears to be a Boxer/Heeler mix. She's a tiny thing, weighing only about 35-40lbs. She is a very easy going girl, but she also loves to run and romp through the yard with the other dogs. She also loves to go on long walk, jogs or hikes... or any other outside activity. She will be a great addition to any family with or without children. She's a very quiet girl, too. She must have a fenced backyard and because of her young age, she should not be left for more than 6hrs or so each day.

This beautiful golden-eyed boy is very calm for just a 10mo old pup! He has a wonderfully sweet temperament and he loves everyone. He gets along great with other dogs, too. We desperately need a foster home... although he's also available for adoption. He's house and kennel trained, and he has polite manners when meeting new people (he does not jump). He loves to run around the yard or go on a nice long walk or hike. He also loves to ride in the car. He must have a fenced backyard and because he's still quite young, he should not be left alone for more that 6hrs or so each day.

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-15-00089Stanley (male)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Silly Stanley! This 2-3yr old, 6lb guy has a very big personality! Stanley came to us terrified of people and especially of other dogs. He was covered in stitched and staples... a result of being attacked by a large dog. We have worked with him for months and now he runs through the yard with 12-15 other dogs, ranging from 5 to 80 lbs. He's not afraid in the least! Actually, when a new dog joins the group he will be one of the first to run up to greet the new addition. He's even a little bossy. He's still a bit shy with new people but if you have any food, he will quickly become your friend and even dance for you. Stanley is quite ... Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hobbes is in need of a home with a fenced yard or large property to explore. While he generally stays near and always wants to be with the family, he does wander since our yard is not fenced. We have had him for less than one year. He has a sweet disposition with humans and cats but does not like other dogs. He is approximately 6 yrs old. He is closest to the mom of the family and will hide or pee if he is in trouble. He only barks when people pull into our driveway. Very good with our three kids. He is solid black with just a hint of red on his ears. No health or dietary issues.

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Nala is a happy, spayed and healthy, 17 month old. She had her first 7 months in a crate in San Diego, and was luckily rescued and put into foster care down there, was then adopted and brought up to WA. She is very smart and has a high potential for more advanced training, (i was thinking agility with her high energy). She loves to swim, and loves car rides with her head out. Unfortunately, her past is sketchy in her younger months, and lately ... (Read More)aggression issues have come up. She is not food aggressive but an unpredictability around certain random men. With that said, I know in the right home she will be amazing. She loves tug of war with a rope, is a cuddler and very smart. She plays well with other dogs, and has been accepted (and currently goes) to doggie daycare. Nala needs an owner with a large fenced in yard. An owner that can work with her issues, and prey drive. She should not be in a home with children and I am at a loss with what to do with these aggression issues surfacing. I am with a lot of children with my profession. I need to find another loving home for Nala. I have had her for one month and she shows no aggression towards my boyfriend and I. Very loving to her owners, and has the greatest biggest Dingo ears. She is housetrained, and never destroys anything inside. She poops in bushes, and knows basic commands. She is a love with some aggression issues that are unpredictable, and i cannot have her in my home anymore. (Less)

Bichon Frise Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Marley... a fast paced, fun little guy that wants to do nothing more than play, play, play. He's almost a year old and weighs only about 12lbs or so. Marley loves to play with other dogs so another in the home would be ideal. He's also quite friendly with people so will make a great family addition with children over 6yrs old. He's quite goofy and always up for a new activity. He's still very much a puppy so he needs someone to continue with his training. He must have a fenced backyard in which to play and should not be left home alone for more than 6hrs or so.

Beautiful Kuma! The 10mo old boy is still very much a puppy! He loves to spend the day running and playing with the other dogs... or figuring out how to open the gate! Kuma is a true husky... incredibly smart and always ready to go explore! He is about 55-60lbs and may get a bit bigger. He needs an athletically active home that will take him on lots of jogs and hiking adventures. Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Nala is a super-friendly purebred mastiff that loves every person and every dog she meets. We actually received a compliment from a stranger at a dog park once who ended up being a dog trainer. She said that she has never seen such impressive behavior, as Nala was the peacekeeper between a few of the unruly/aggressive dogs at the park and diffused the tension when a fight broke out. She loves every person and every dog she meets. :) Nala is 4 years old, 120lbs, spayed, and up to date on all shots/vaccines. She knows simple commands (sit, stay, lay down, leave it, back up) and generally follows ... (Read More)them, though mastiffs tend to be pretty stubborn at times. Although she is a very sweet, docile, cuddly, and loving dog...candidly, she does have some issues. When she was spayed, the procedure resulted in urinary incontinence, though it is controlled with daily medication. She also has some anxiety issues and doesn't like to be alone, which is why I think she would do best in a home with another dog. We can tell that moving from our house with access to the backyard via a dog door to a condo with no backyard has had its toll on her; she misses the freedom of being outside. Based on both of us having demanding jobs (and since I'm also in grad school), plus the fact that we know we aren't providing the best home for her in our condo, we have made the difficult decision to re-home her.     Billy needs a great home with room to run and play. He is a wonderful dog! Gets along really well with cats and dogs. He does get anxious when there are a lot of people around (6 is pretty much his limit) especially when there is another dog there. Right now he is in an only pet home. Billy is also not good with men who have a lot of facial hair and glasses, it took him quite a while to warm up to my grandfather. He is so loving and all he wants to do is play! Great with kids. Even when they crawl over him or tugs on his tail (my nephew was two, but he knows better now) so no worries there. HIs back is about three feet high, definitely a ... (Read More)sizable dog.     This is Alabama. She is a human lover! We rescued her from a pitbull rescue in (you guessed it) Alabama. Bama is about 3 years old and in good health. We have had her since she was about 8 months old. When she was about 1.5 years old, she had to have TPLO surgery on one of her back legs. She has made a full recovery and we call it her bionic leg. She LOVES to run and hunt things in the backyard. She is full of energy, curiosity, and love! So why are we rehoming her? We have three other dogs and over the last couple of months Bama has bitten one of them 3 times and another 1 time. That being said- she has NEVER bitten or displayed any ... (Read More)aggression to humans. Based on this- we feel that Bama would be best suited to go to a home with NO OTHER ANIMALS OR CHILDREN. If you currently have, or plan on having in the future (either 2 or 4 legged kids)- she is not the dog for you. Even though she hasn't bitten a human or displayed aggression towards humans, we feel that a home with small children may cause her undo stress so for everyones benefit- she needs to be the only one. We love Bama soo much, and this is one of the hardest things for us to do. She is a good dog and deserves to be in an environment where she can be free of the stresses of other animals and small children, get lots of love, and have plenty room to run. If you do not plan on being her forever home- she's not the kid for you. Bama is very friendly and loving- she LOVES to snuggle and lay with you on the bed. She knows how to sit and lay down and go to bed and all that. She is crate trained and doesn't mind going in or out of it when asked. We do require you to have experience with pits, a vet and references we can check, and a home visit. We would also like to keep in touch and receive emails on how she's doing. If you can't keep her in the future for whatever reason- she must be returned to us. We just want what is best for her. If you think you may be a good fit please let us know via the CL email address. If you have other dogs or small children, or don't have experience with pits- we wish you luck in finding your pet but she is NOT the right fit for you- period. (Less)

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected,
 Fearful/Anxious

Poncho is a sweet boy, if you get to know him. He is outwardly aggressive at first, will lunge with mouth open and bark, but does not clamp down - this is nervous behavior. I am his third owner and can no longer meet his needs. Poncho needs a warm up period of a day or two with any new people, and has a difficult time being left home alone. He has responded well to prescription anti-anxiety medications in the past. Ideally, his new owner would be someone who works from home or someone who is not employed. He is great with both kids and adults after the appropriate 'get to know you' period (may take a few days, and is better with men). After ... (Read More)he is comfortable, he loves to snuggle, sleep under the covers with you, and sit on your lap. I have loved this dog unconditionally for five years and am just not able to meet his needs any longer. He is slowly losing his eyesight, and has been treated for joint health issues within the last two years. Great in the car, gets along with other dogs and with cats. I am hoping that someone can love him as much as I do, but be able to spend more time with him and look after his needs better. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mysty, aka Lady Mystic, is a gorgeous adult dog. Her eyes are icy blue and she has the most absolutely fantastic personality. She walked into my menagerie of about 20 dogs without a second look. She was immediately greeted by 5 at once (not something I normally do)...she sniffed noses and other parts; turned around and started inspecting my yard and driveway. Absolutely no anxiety of being in a new place, new dogs, new people!!! She walked into the house and came face-to-face with my Garfield...the cat looked at her when she sniffed him. She backed up and went the other direction. She quickly let me know that she has been accustomed ... (Read More)to sleeping on a bed...the people bed. She got up there as natural as can be...rolled over on her back and started playing with my 4# Chihuahua! The first night I got her she followed me into the computer and went to sleep at my feet while I worked. She also has some commands and does tricks!!! We were handing out treats to all the dogs (and there are a lot) and I told them to Sit (of which most of mine have no idea what that is but they do back off some) and she immediately sat. Went to give her a treat and she offered her front paw for the hand shake (of course, she got her treat.) Thinking there may be more to this, I offered another and raised it over her head and said, 'Sit Up.'... AND SHE DID...in the begging style and just sat there. She is totally vetted...has been on heart worm prevention her entire life (I have complete medical records from vet she has been going to). She is 48#s. All I know about her past is that she was given to a young woman as a gift 4 yrs ago and due to divorce and apartments, she could no longer keep Mysty. Mysty will be an absolutely fantastic companion for anyone...kids...no kids...adults...you name it. The adoption fee includes all the medical and the transport costs...there are no additional charges. We also encourage you to sign up for 30-days of FREE medical insurance (we will give you the details upon adoption.) Mysty is at my ranch in San Antonio, Texas and would be able to make the transport that leaves September 11th IF she were pre-adopted. I do not have a foster in the Washington area that can foster a large dog so I cannot send her up ahead of time. I will personally guarantee you, this is a sound, fantastic dog. In the event it does not work out for you, I do have my point of contact in Olympia that will help rehome the dog for you through all of means of advertising and talking with prospective adopters. Our dogs are transported by Paws Without Borders and you can see their activities by going to their facebook page. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-07-00069SWEET BRUTUS (male)

Rottweiler Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

GOOD NEWS! ADOPTION PENDING ON BRUTUS! Thank you for your interest. I will remove this posting when the adoption is final. thank you. When I met Brutus it was as if he was reuniting with his oldest friend! I thought , wow, what a friendly dog! Then I watched how he greeted everyone else in the same manner...young or old, male or female...there just isn't anyone that Brutus doesn't LOVE right from the get go. It's so sad to be listing this precious dog for adoption. His owner just passed away and no one in the family of city folks can take him. He lived on 26 acres outside of Goldendale and is currently with a neighbor close by. ... (Read More)This is one amazing dog that is going to need an amazing family. First he is great with kids and all people and other dogs. He is even fine with chickens, geese, peahens and other small animals. He lOVES EVERYONE! He is a free spirit; allowed to wander the hills have been his playground. You can see him in the river fishing, running up the hill to find coyotes, greeting anyone coming to visit anyone in the neighborhood. He's a free spirit that has had a marvelous life. After all that freedom and fun he would head home in the evening and hop into bed with his owner who was disabled;; he was a happy, happy dog. The neighbors that took him in cannot keep him unfortunately; they are at their limit. So they will keep him until the right person or family comes along for him. Two times when I've been walking with this neighbor Brutus was going with us and she looked at him and said, "GO home Brutus" and he stopped, turned around and went home! AMAZING....VERY, VERY OBEDIENT These people recently had a very large family reunion. Brutus was having a ball being part of it. He was mixing with all ages of kids and other dogs and people...and everyone was loving him and visa versa. Brutus is three years old, in optimum health. He runs and swims daily. The world is his playground. He has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccines. WHAT DOES BRUTUS NEED? Maybe it would be easier to say what he does not need....a small yard that he is confined to with little interaction with nature and people. We're looking for a situation similar to one that he currently has. OR, there may be another situation where Brutus would be happy....someone that jogs that needs a jogging partner....someone that hikes that needs a hiking partner, a family with a stay at home mom or dad,and lots of kids that love dogs, it can't be too restrict an environment as he has had so much freedom. He would do well with lots of activity that he is part of and lots of kids and dogs. He's a one dog welcoming committee. Do you have a situation that you think Brutus would be happy in? Do you have room in your home and heart for a very obedient, loving and great dog? This guys owner loved him dearly. He slept with him every night and it was so sad for Brutus when he passed. He is kind of lost and right now really needs someone to love on him and reassure him that he has a place where he is loved. He is living ten miles north of Goldendale and you would have to go to his foster families home to see him in action and to meet him. . This dog is just full of love, always ready and willing to go on the next big adventure...do you have an adventure for Brutus? I would be glad to answer questions but better yet put you into contact with the neighbors who are fostering this special dog. Brutus' adoption fee fully vetted is $250.00. photos will be added as soon as I can figure out how to get them from my phone to this site. You can email me for photos and provide your phone number in the meantime and I can text you some fotos. He is a gorgeous dog! If you've sad all the way to the end and you have a home that Brutus may be happy in, drop me a line. I will respond quickly. Please be serious about adoption if you begin the process. I will be checking your personal as well as vet references to assure a wonderful forever home from Brutus. thank you! (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Everyone loves the movie 'Finding Nemo' right? Well, that is what this awesome little guy was named...and everyone will love him too. This handsome and silly boy is looking for his family to make his life complete! Nemo was found wandering and just trying to survive the ugly streets of the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas with his two brothers, Willis and Arnold. They were rescued recently and are now living a life that they could not have imagined before. Regular meals, love and affection, daily play time in the yard and a comfy bed are all things that were new and exciting for these boys. They also have a ton of friends now and ... (Read More)have learned how to socialize with other dogs, people and cats. Nemo is about 2 years old, 45 pounds and has a medium energy level. Nemo loves to go for long walks and play indoors after a nice jog. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is usually the leader of the pack of clowns. He loves people, but can be a bit shy for a moment when meeting new people. He has a moderate energy level, meaning he knows how to run and play, but also enjoys coming inside to just hang out with his people. Nemo is already crate-trained, knows some basic commands such as sit and settle, and is housebroken. Nemo was sadly heartworm positive when he was rescued, but that is a very common problem with the strays in Houston. He has been treated and completed it like the champ that he is. This Nemo is not a clownfish, but we can guarantee that he's fun and silly like a clown. If you are looking for a great dog that will brighten your days, Nemo is a perfect match. Nemo currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $150. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The grand total for adopting this pet including adoption and transportation fee is $375. To adopt Nemo, please submit an adoption application online at www.corridorrescue.org under the adoption tab. She's a very friendly girl that loves people, but when meeting new people she does take a minute or two before wanting to lean in for a good rub. She's wonderful with other dogs... but squirrels and birds better watch out! She can spot a bird from a very long distance and if she has the chance, the chase will be on.     Meet Hank... true to his terrier breed mix, Hank can be stubborn and sometimes a stinker with other dogs... but he's a HUGE goof and he loves people! Hank is about 3yrs old and weighs about 65lbs or so. He loves to go jogging... or just rolling around in the grass and playing a good game of keep away.... when it's time to come inside, he'd first race in fast circles in the yard, maybe drop and roll around a bit, then off again. Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Doug is a 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog / Labrador Retriever Blend. He weighs 22 pounds which is much lighter than normal for a dog his age. But he was rescued from an owner who didn't think it was so important to feed his animals, only the mothers as he was breeding dogs for profits. We convinced him to let us have Doug and his younger brother Donnie. Their father is a fluffy white and black Border Collie and the mother is an Australian Cattle dog / Labrador Retriever Mix. Both were so skinny. Gosh the way they ate their food when they first came to my home, those little boys were truly starving. I had to feed them several small ... (Read More)meals each day until they gained some weight and started to trust that they would be feed regularly. Doug is a quiet but playful dog. He loves to receive love as it was something he did not get before. He is very well behaved, about 90% potty trained, fully crate trained and he gets along with all of his foster brothers and sisters. He instantly rolls over when you approach him for a belly rub. When he first came here he was very protective of his younger brother but not anymore, they both run around and just have a good time playing. They are being raised indoors, they sleep in a crate at night and when I leave the house. Poor things did not even know what toys were; they would watch the other dogs playing with toys with bewilderment on their faces. Now it makes me so happy when they grab a ball and take off running to play chase! Doug would love a home to call his own. He would make good playmates for another dog big or small or just as a family pet. (Less)

Unfortunately, she has a bit of a checkered past. She would make a wonderful companion to an active single person or couple with no children or other animals. Zoe needs an experienced owner who can continue to help her with her dog and animal aggression issues. Her new home needs secure fencing and room for her to zoom around. We don't know how she is around small children, so it's not recommended she go to a home with them.     Hello, I'm Hooch! I'm told that I'm such a sweetie! I am nearly for sure they say a yellow lab and basset mix Because I look exactly like both of those mixes!!!! I am they tell me 2 years old or 2 1/2 years old maybe even possibly 3 years old? I am a sweet dog. I haven't had tons of socialization so will just need some training in how it is to be a spoiled pooch living in a home having my own bed and being loved and doted on. My foster mom gave me pillows to sleep in in my kennel and gosh how i love that. I love to roll on the grass on my back with my legs in the air. That is so much fun. I like water but I'm not a ball dog. I like other ... (Read More)dogs but I think I like females better than males in general. If I live in a home with another dog I think if it is a male it needs to be somewhat submissive (perhaps?) but definitely I should not live in a home with a dominant male dog. I raise my ears and I'm very curious on walks when I see cats but I think I can be trained to leave them alone. I do not pull to chase them or bark at them when I'm walking and I see them. I will need you to teach him how to sit, come, the usual things a dog gets to learn when living in a home. I am very friendly and I love humans. I'm learning how to be a love bug, I got so used to being independent but over time I'm certain I will be more and more of a love bug. I like all dogs I have met except for one dog that was not nice to me... He was kind of a bully... all other dogs I have met I liked and played fine with. I haven't met small children so the humans can't say yet how I am with them, but we think I would be fine as long as they didn't do things like pull my tail and /or jump on me. I would love to be living in a home with you in the NW. My adoption fee is flexible as the rescue wants a great forever home and is willing to lose money rehoming me but ONLY if I have a great forever loving home. I have come a long way being transported from Texas. I have been fixed, microchipped and fully vetted. I know not the BEST photos I'm MUCH cuter in real life. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

These bonded boys were rescued from a high kill shelter in CA as pups. They will need to be adopted together as they are litter mates and have never been apart. We have attempted to separate them, but they do not do well so that isn't an option. These boys are fairly high energy. They love to play and get along well with other dogs of a similar energy level. They tend to be a bit overwhelming for smaller dogs and low energy dogs. They are still very much puppy and tend to nip and bark when asking for the attention they so desperately deserve. They would be well suited for people who are familiar with rescue dogs but would be fine with older ... (Read More)children (10+) who are experienced with pups. These boys will make someone some amazing companions with a little bit of true love and care. All they want in the world is a family to love them, a few walks a day, a kong or some bones to chew on, and to be loved. Can you be their special forever family? Come meet them and find out!     This is Mack! A sweet boy almost 2 years of age. He is fairly high energy and would never forget to tell you if someone knocked on the door. He loves to play, go for walks and chew on squeaking toys. Mack does well with most other dogs, but can be a bit too high energy for some mellow dogs. He needs a family with no young children as he still acts like a puppy. Mack would do fine with older children who could walk him and wear him out as long as they were dog savvy.     Hello! My name is Sunflower. I am a 6 year old Chi mix, rescued from a high kill shelter in California. I must have been an owner surrender because I am as sweet as they come and know just how to fit in with a family and walk on the leash like a lady. I love people, and will run right up to you, jump up and kiss your hand. I don't mind being held or sitting on laps one bit! I enjoy going for walks and relaxing on the couch. I'm not the most playful dog (much more of a cuddler), but can play on occasion. I am very relaxed and enjoy the company of most adults and have met children whom I was very calm with and not nervous. I am a full grown ... Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Adult

Meet Mia the adorable 5y/o Chiweenie! She is sweet as they come and is going to make someone a great companion. Is it you? Mia was rescued from a high kill shelter in California. Since being at the rescue, she has taken to enjoy the company of the other dogs and relaxing on their very own personal couch! Mia is a shy and submissive little girl so when you first meet her she tends to be very timid, however once she warms up she'll show you she is very sweet and loves to sit on your lap and be cuddled. She would do great in a low energy quiet home with adults or older dog savvy kids to love her and take her for walks. What she really needs is ... (Read More)a lap to cuddle up on! She does well with the other dogs, but really enjoys attention and likes to be the center of it, so she sometimes gets a little bit jealous. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-04-00002Jazmine (female)

Shih Tzu    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Blind,
 Abused/Neglected, Fearful/Anxious

Meet Jazmine a 3-5 year old purebred Shih Tzu who has had one heck of a life up until her recent rescue (about 6 weeks ago.) Jazmine was used at a puppy mill as a breeding mom for the entirety of her life so far. If you don't know what a puppy mill is, please google it and spread the word! She was caged 24 hours a day, in her own feces and urine and bred from her first head cycle constantly for 3-5 years. During that time she could have produced up to 2 litters a year. These 'breeders' then take the puppies away as early as 4 weeks old (when they should not be taken from their mother until 8-10 weeks), and sell them to pet stores and ... (Read More)online. They ship the puppies site unseen so that most people don't know how inhumane they are to the parents. Please never buy a puppy from a pet store or from a website that ships and spay/neuter your pets so these people go out of business! Now back to Jazmine. She is a very shy girl who is very hesitant to approach people. She prefers to relax in her dog house, but is quiet and relaxed most of the time. She is unsure what a couch is and does not like to be caught or handled (understandably so!) As stated above she has not had much human interaction other than for us to administer medication to her ruptured eye. She is very timid and shy, and gets confused when she is picked up so she will need someone very special to take her on and show her that humans can really show love and compassion! We are unsure how she would do with children, but we feel her ideal environment would be with an older couple who have a stable quiet environment where she can relax and learn to trust. Is the Shih Tzu breed a good fit for you? Highlights Shih Tzus are difficult to housebreak. Be consistent, and do not allow a puppy to roam the house unsupervised until he is completely trained. Crate training is helpful. The flat shape of the Shih Tzu's face makes him susceptible to heat stroke, because the air going into the lungs isn't cooled as efficiently as it is among longer-nosed breeds. He should be kept indoors in air-conditioning rooms during hot weather. Be prepared to brush and comb the Shih Tzu coat every day. It mats easily. While Shih Tzus are trustworthy with children, they're not the best choice for families with toddlers or very young children because their small size puts them at risk for unintentional injury. The Shih Tzu tends to wheeze and snore, and can be prone to dental problems. While all dogs eat their own or other animals' feces (coprophagia), the Shih Tzu seems especially prone to this behavior. The best way to handle the problem is never let it become a habit. Watch your Shih Tzu closely and clean up poop right away. To get a healthy pet, never buy a puppy from a backyard breeder, puppy mill, or pet store. Find a reputable breeder who tests her breeding dogs for genetic health conditions and good temperaments. If you would like to meet Jazmine please come to Little PAWS Dog Daycare any day between 8 am - 6pm to meet her! We are located at 2905 Marvin Rd NE Lacey 98516. She is UTD on shots and has been spayed and micro-shipped. (Less)

Please never buy a puppy from a pet store or from a website that ships and spay/neuter your pets so these people go out of business! Now back to Foxy. She is a sweet loving girl who seems to be coming out of her shell rather quickly. As stated above she has not had much human interaction but is quickly bonding with staff and volunteers at the rescue. She is very timid and shy, and gets confused when she is picked up so she will need someone very special to take her on and show her that humans can really show love and compassion! We are unsure how she would do with children, but recommend only older children in the house as small children and loud noises would probably be too much for her. Is the Fox Terrier the right Breed for You? This loyal, active and playful breed is at its best as a member of its human family, but may be reserved with strangers. Intelligent and trainable, many Rat Terriers excel in Agility and Obedience, events which also serve as excellent exercise outlets. The breed sheds seasonally and requires brushing with a soft brush or rubber curry mitt. Terrier group designation. Two sizes: Miniature - At least 10 inches tall at the shoulder, not to exceed 13 inches; Standard - over 13 inches, and up to and including 18 inches in height measured at the shoulder. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-03-00754Gracie Lou (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet our little Gracie Lou, the pocket pittie! This adorable little lady is only about 38 pounds is a happy ball of energy. You can't help but have a smile on your face when Gracie Lou is around. Gracie Lou was found running down the road in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas with a chain and rope around her neck. She was clearly scared and in need of some attention and affection after escaping her traumatic life. After her rescue, she was vetted and with time she got healthier and happier. She moved into a boarding/training facility and she has adjusted very well to the pampered life! She loves cats and gets along great with the ... (Read More)three she lives with at the facility. She does okay with the other dogs, but she would prefer to be an only dog. She can get a bit possessive of her toys and bed around other dogs. She loves to be outside and can play a very good game of fetch. She could chase a ball or her favorite toy, a rubber gummy bear, for as long as you will throw it for her. Gracie Lou is very smart and already knows her basic commands, such as sit, stay, and settle. She is crate-trained, housebroken and is very friendly when meeting new people. She loves to go on walks with her weighted backpack and enjoys a challenge! She excels at agility and learns other tasks very quickly. Although she is quite excitable, this little girl is mostly talk and trust us...she does talk! Due to her poor care prior to her being rescued, Gracie Lou has permanent tracheal damage which makes her bark sound very raspy. Sometimes this can confuse people into thinking she is becoming unsettled but really she's just a chatty dog who enjoys talking to you! She LOVES playing with a water hose; chasing and leaping into the air after it. If you are looking for a very active, fun-loving and cuddly pup with a great smile, then Gracie Lou is the pup for you! Gracie Lou currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Can you imagine being severely wounded and having nowhere to go and nobody to help you? That was what Tyler had to go through as he hid under a tree deep in the brush in the Corridor of Cruelty in Houston, Texas, to try to protect himself from further harm. It was fate that the Corridor Rescue volunteers spotted him that day while they were out feeding all of the strays. They immediately knew that they were rescuing him from death, but he was scared of their intentions and growled at them as a warning to stay away. He very quickly realized that they were his heroes. They gave him rotisserie chicken to gain his trust and water to hydrate ... (Read More)his weak and crashing body. His injuries were so extensive, but nobody knows what happened to this wonderful boy. It could have been that he was mauled by a much larger animal, hit by a car and left to die or injuries at the hands of heartless people. We will never know, but that is in the past and we are all so proud of our survivor for his journey since that day. Tyler is about 2 years old and currently 52 pounds. When he was found, he was just 41 pounds, so he has gained some much needed weight. Tyler has learned so much in the last several months since his rescue. His foster family adores him and he very much enjoys living life as a pet rather than surviving on his own. He currently lives with 2 cats, an 11 year old human sister and many other dogs that range in age from 8 weeks to 5 years and from 2 pounds to 70 pounds. He interacts beautifully with all of the 2 and 4-legged members of his foster family. Like all dogs, a proper introduction is necessary for Tyler so he feels comfortable when visiting new furry friends. Tyler had extensive surgical repairs and treatments to go through after his rescue. His wounds to his rear leg were too great for it to be saved. He has adjusted very well to living life as a tripod. He runs like a gazelle in his back yard, but he wouldn't make a good running partner since his runs are in short bursts. He walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys his evening strolls around the neighborhood. He doesn't like swimming although he has a pool. Other than his severe leg injury, Tyler had very deep wounds on his back that have left permanent scars and he was also heartworm positive. He has recently finished treatment for the heartworms. Tyler has molded well into his foster family because they have provided him with a loving environment, but also with a routine. He requires exercise, discipline and affection and has thrived in a home setting with these simple things. When he wakes up in the morning, he runs to greet his dog buddies first, then his humans, then he eats and then wants to take a nap in his foster mom's lap. He is a dog that seeks approval from his humans and he is a people pleaser 100% of the time. He loves belly rubs, chasing the ball (but rarely returns with it); his favorite toys are the plush, squeaky ones and he is perfectly content for at least 30 minutes alone after you give him one. He clearly prefers to be with his dog friends and people though. He is a lover, not a loner! A couple of his hobbies include chasing bugs, playing in his yard and often dancing in circles to impress. While he's inside, he seeks your attention throughout the day. His given nickname is 'Bear' because he will paw at you for some attention and love. He is very gentle when he takes treats out of hands and he doesn't have any food, treat or toy aggression at all. He likes to sleep soundly on a bed at night with the other members of his pack. If there are children in the family, over 6 years old would probably work out best for him as he is still learning how to gently paw for attention. He most definitely wants a family that is home more than they are away because he wants nothing more than to spend time with you. He is an all around big goof, easy-going, fun-loving family dog and despite all of the trauma in his life, he has maintained the most appreciative and loving disposition. Are you the lucky first owner of this gentle giant with a heart of gold? Tyler currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have amazing volunteers who live here to help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Let me introduce you to Lilly. She is a 6 year old miniature pincher without the cropped ears. She weighs around 12lbs and has a serious appetite so she cannot have food left out for her to eat at her leisure. She is an incredible loving lap dog who loves to cuddle and burrow in blankets. She gets cold easily and likes to wear a sweater during the fall and winter. She is very happy and playful dog and loves to play fetch and tug of war with bones and ropes. Always happy to go for walks and car rides and does very well with both. When on walks she is indifferent to other animals and has never shown aggression to anyone. She does get nervous ... (Read More)around small children and people approaching her face with two hands. She currently lives with three dogs and a cat and has no issues with any of them. 4 years ago she was diagnosed with Addisons disease and requires specialized medication and food. Total yearly medication and food expense is approximately Daily - Steroid (1/4 of a 5 mg pill) administered in a piece of cheese. The Prescription normally lasts 4 months. Royal Canine low fat intestinal dog food - %BD cup twice a day. Large bag lasts about 2 months. Milk Thistle - over the counter dietary supplement capsule that we pull apart and sprinkle on her food at dinner to help with her liver function (this isn't required but was recommended by the vet). Bottle lasts 90 days. Monthly - Percorten (every 21-24 days) - this is the main medication for her Addisons treatment. This is administered as a subcutaneous shot (.35ml) and the bottle lasts approximately 11 months. We currently have an 8 month supply remaining. Our family is going through life changes that will prevent Lilly from receiving the love and attention she deserves. She is really an incredibly loving dog and would make the perfect pet for a retired person or a family with no children that can show her the attention she deserves. Please consider parenting this great animal. (Less)

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We used to live on 5 acres (2.5 fenced), where our dogs had plenty of room to run. Last year, we moved to a lake with barely over 1/2 acre of property (only a small portion is fenced). Until recently, Scooby was content with the limited space, but has finally figured out that he can go out into the lake & wade over to the end of the fence. We can't extend our fence across the lake; therefore, we no longer have a way to contain him. Scooby is my baby, and a loving home is a must! We adopted him when he was 10 weeks old. He was chipped & neutered before bringing him home. We kennel trained him, and he was an indoor dog for the 1st 1-1/2 ... (Read More)years. When we brought home a 2nd puppy, we quickly realized that dogs playing with eachother in the house wasn't our thing, so we moved them both outside. We have a cat who hangs out with both dogs...he rubs his body against their legs & will sometimes curl up next to them to sleep. Scooby is great with kids of all ages, but does tend to get a bit hyper. He'll accidentally hit toddlers with his tail, or turn too quickly & knock them over. We walk with our 23 month old granddaughter when Scooby is near her, just to make sure he's being 'gentle.' When elderly people are walking outside, we kennel him, just in case he gets too hyper & clumsy. He doesn't bite, even when he's upset with people (ie: clipping toenails, shots, being poked & prodded). He does get agitated when random dogs walk near our fence line. His hair stands on end, he whines, and becomes territorial...the vet tells us he's just doing what dogs do...protecting his property. He's been boarded several times at McKenna Kennels & they tell us he's never had any issues when outside with the other dogs. (Less)

Desperately looking to have someone adopt these 2 adorable AKC registered Shih Tzu's to a good loving home as soon as possible! Mickey (Male, Black and white shih tzu) is 3 1/2 yrs. old and Miley (Female , Brown shih tzu) is 3 1/2 yrs old as well. They are obedient and great with adults and children! They all have their shots and are potty trained... Male shih tzu is neutered and microchipped but Female shih tzu is not spayed.. I recently just had a baby and unfortunately, I do not have the time and energy I used to have for them. I love them dearly and will miss them but they need to be with someone that has the time to give them a lot of ... (Read More)attention and care from a new owner. They are really sweet adorable dogs and they just love to be around people! I would prefer if both dogs stay together as a couple since they have been together since they were puppies. I don't want them to suffer from separation anxiety. They also got used to having a lot of room to exercise and play. Also, I will provide a crate, their leashes, dog toys and any remaining dog food and treats for you to take with them. In the pics I have posted, Miley and Mickey just got groomed and their hair is shorter than normal because of the summer. But normally they are very fluffy. I have pics of them as puppies and also with their hair longer if you are interested in seeing them... Please contact me if you are interested and I will contact you as soon as I can..     Who doesn't want a little dark chocolate???? And it ism even good for your heart :) Autumn is a 6mo Lab Max that we rescued from certain death at a high kill TX shelter. She has a broken hind leg and was scheduled to be euthanized that day. After 6 weeks of treatment and casting, the cast is off ad she is raring to go! Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Vaccinations Current, Deaf

Gracie was surrendered to us in the most neglected condition we have ever seen. She was flea and parasite invested, she has cataracts in both eyes, untreated ear infections that were so bad that she has lost her hearing, a grade 4 heart murmur, a wound on her leg that needed surgery and a foxtail had dug its way into her skin that needed a surgery too. All that said, we have healed her now and she is a new dog! This sweet little girl needs a home where she can live out her golden years. We think she would make a really great company for a senior citizen, who would like the company of a little dog without a long term commitment. We ... (Read More)believe Gracie is about 8 since her teeth are in good condition, but due to her neglect she has aged beyond her years. That said she has just recovered from two surgeries, so she could still regain some of her youth. Gracie does not require much. She likes to go for slow walks and snuggle by your side. She uses pee pads, so you can take her outside or just change her pads. Lately, she has been communicating her desire to go outside, so this is big progress. She is very sweet natured and will make a great companion animal. All we want for Gracie is to feel loved for once in her life. Her life was miserable and she deserves so much better. (Less)

Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered

Darling 1.5yo Small Male ShiChi Rescued From High Kill Shelter. Gilbert is a small 9lb black and white mix of Shih Tzu and Chihuahua who is a year and a half old. He is extremely cuddly and loving and was raised with small children. He is NOT good with other animals although he's gotten better about our cat since coming here. I would not trust him with small animals as he is way too interested in them. Gilbert walks well on a leash and is crate trained. He is relearning house manners after living outside for several months. He will need a home willing to continue to work on his housetraining but I believe he will do much better after he ... (Read More)leaves my home because we have had LOTS of foster dogs here over the years and marking is just his way of trying to cover up previous accidents. He's good about wearing a belly band though so that takes his ability to actually pee out of the equation but still having him 100% housebroken so he doesn't have to wear it is the goal. Gilbert was neglected in his previous home and was regulated to living outdoors in harsh weather after the family moved in with other family members who did not want a dog in the house. He was living with his brother but after 2 months of fostering them we have determined that separating them is probably best because working with 2 youngsters who need consistent training is hard work plus they fight for attention and with each other over food and toys. It just seems to make sense. Gilbert is neutered and fully vaccinated. He's a soft little lap boy who loves to snuggle. He is playful but pretty low energy. He's filled out a ton in the 2 months we have had him as he no longer has worms and he's on a good diet of Wellness dog food now. He's good about having his nails trimmed and being brushed. He has an easy care coat. He's just a nice little dog down on his luck who needs someone who will love him like he'd liked to love them. (Less)

Meet Milo... He's posing for the camera with his adorable, trusting face... not knowing that he had just one day to spare! We were able to get this boy out of a very small, very high kill shelter at literally his very last day.... He is not much more than a year old and is very happy, friendly and playful. She is very sweet and very mellow but will get really excited when she is able to sit on your lap and get love. She will do her own thing. She can be a bit territorial so she would do better with a home with no kids, cats or other dogs. Ember is a bit weary of strangers and can be aggressive as most doxies' are.     Anastasia is the sweetest dog...as you can see in the photo. She was adventursum until she got her foot caught in a fence as she was going over. It broke clean just at the ankle. The vet said that amputation was the best way to go. It would be fast healing and the least expensive. Other treatments would not be guaranteed and then you may have to amputate anyway. He said that a young dog that is slender would have no problem with only 3 legs. By-the-way, she's not jumping any more fences! This amputation cost the rescue $700 with the rescue's discount! She is an absolute delight, tho. She loves to be loved and just adores kids. She ... (Read More)loves to play with other dogs and leaves my cats alone. She has gotten stronger and does well on short walks. The original owner was a 19-yr-old that absolutely adores animals, dogs in particular and they respond to her...she's the next dog whisperer. But, she can't afford the dogs while she's working 3 jobs and now finally going back to school (I finally instilled a little ambition to do more; do better). I will keep this dog if no one wants her. She sleeps by my bed and freqently asks to get on my bed which she needs help. Then she acts like a puppy. There has got to be someone with a big heart that would make this dogs life heaven.     DAYTONA is a wonder 3 1/2 mo old pup that lives to play and have fun. He holds his own with the other pups and is extra smart. He learns from watching the others. He came to us off the streets so he had to stay in isolation for 2 wks to make sure he would not come down with any diseases. He LOVEDDDDD it when he finally got put in with the other pups. I don't know his breed but he has a lot going for him...short hair (no special grooming), long nose (no sinus problems), stand-up ears (no ear infections), and a sturdy body.     [Read About Natural Seizure Care] Finnigan is a 10-year old Pug Terrier whose foster mom describes him as 'super smart, lots of fun and gets along well with all dogs!' Finnigan loves balls and toys, walks really well on a leash and he is good about sleeping in his crate even though he would MUCH rather sleep in bed with his people! Finnigan is a really smart dog who will make some lucky person a great companion. He has a medical history of seizures, but they are well controlled with Phenobarbital. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-24-00037Skippy Girl (female)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

They call me Skippy Girl! My friends at the dog park always talk about how awesome their families are. I love my foster mom, but I really want my very own people. The first thing to know is that I am an affectionate girl that needs an owner that likes to stay busy. I have long legs and I like to keep them moving. I'd be an excellent running partner or really your take-along dog on all of your adventures. I like to lounge too, but after a bit of exercise and with a yummy chew toy. I am a bigger girl, weighing in at nearly 65 pounds, but I have manners, so I am not 65 pounds of bull-in-a-china cabinet. I am also 65 pounds of beautiful with my ... (Read More)leg freckles, a short red, orange and white coat and my BEST features are my amber eyes and my permanent eyeliner. My tail is also an attention getter....wags constantly unless I am concentrating and then it will be curled up over my back. Okay, so we covered my looks...let's talk about my personality a little bit. I am very affectionate and I really love to spend time with all kinds of people and other pups. Getting hugs and kisses and a daily tummy rub will make my day! I know a special trick. I do this really funny thing where I lean into the crate so you can pet my whole body without having to stick your hands through the holes. I also know how to sit, shake paws and several other cool tricks. I bet I can learn any trick you throw my way. I love to stay busy and have fun, so an active family would be great for me. I am a good jogger, hiker, dog park participant and walker because I am super social. I'm not too social with cats, so I need to be adopted by a family that does not have one. I do not live with children, but I see them at the park and they are great back scratchers so having them around would be just fine. I would do well in any family dynamic because I am really adaptable to all situations. After all of this talk about myself, I am hopeful that you will decide to love me for the rest of my life. I have got many more years to share with someone special, so let's meet. I am healthy, spayed, current on my vaccinations, house trained and do not forget...beautiful and smart. If you are interested in adopting Skippy Girl, please contact us at corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com or fill out our online adoption application at www.CorridorRescue.org under the adoption tab. Skippy Girl currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Seattle because we have several amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions.     Mr. Chuck is an excellent boy! He could have really been named Curious George because he is such an explorer and likes to know what's going on at all times. Chuck is a very inquisitive puppy and quite intelligent. He notices everything! Chuck has loads of puppy energy and is constantly entertaining us with his puppy shenanigans. He is very well-behaved on leash and will go anywhere at anytime. He is absolutely a perfect companion for people and dogs; however this is not the case for the feline friends. He is a bit too much for cats and should be adopted into a cat-free family. He loves to meet and play with all of the new dogs and ... (Read More)people at the dog park or while walking on his leash in the neighborhood. He already knows 'sit' and is smart enough for his new owner to teach him lots of commands quickly. He is very charming and eager to please his human companions and gets compliments constantly. This very sweet boy is tall and slender, has an adorable curly tail and a balletic stance. He loves to play all day and then cuddle up with his people before bedtime. He's the best of both worlds, fun and cuddly! Chuck is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, house trained and crate trained. He is about 1 year old, 48 pounds and will most likely max out at 50 pounds. He's a great size, active enough for outdoorsy activities and calm enough to watch TV with you too. Charming Chuck is ready today for his new family and for new adventures, so please contact us at corridorrescueadopt@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application under the adoption tab at www.corridorrescue.org if he sounds like the perfect guy for your family. Mastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ayla is a female, 4.5 year old, 125 pound English Mastiff who is currently looking for her forever home! She is an amazing family dog, loves her humans. She gets along ok with the other foster dogs that are currently in the house however she can startle with quick movement. She would likely be best as an only dog (because she wants and deserves all of the attention), but with proper intros and initial supervision, she would be fine with another large dog. Ayla also needs a home with a large yard so she has plenty of room to run and play! She loves to ride in the car and go for trips. She would be a great hiking companion for a young couple. ... (Read More) She is spayed, utd on her shots, heartworm tested and negative, treated for fleas and worms and very sweet. She walks well on a leash and loves her walks, however will need an owner that understands the breed size and strength. Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Beautiful Jade is a 2- to 3-year-old, 14-lb. friendly and playful Rat Terrier, who loves to cuddle. A little shy at first, Jade has a sweet disposition and warms up fairly quickly to both men and women. She loves to play with her 10-year-old human roommate and thinks he is nice to cuddle with too. Although a little cautious with cats at first, Jade is interested in them and wants to be friends, even if the cat doesn't feel the same. She loves cuddling and kissing anyone and everyone. ... (Read More)She is quickly catching on to walking on a leash.     Tucker was saved from a high kill shelter in Southern California. He is absolutely beautiful - has spots on ears and tummy and a little on legs. He is a fun loving dog with the typical energy level of a young dog. He loves to play with other dogs and is non-reactive to cats.
