|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-27-00052Sasha (female)|
Sasha is a beautiful young dog born October 2016. She is up to date with all vaccinations and although we've said she is not spayed, she is not able to have pups. She was a street dog/stray living in a small village and had her back legs crushed in an accident. She was rescued by PPAWS so that we could treat her and, unfortunately, due to infection and the length of time since her accident, we had to amputate both of her back legs for her health and safety's sake. Perfectly mobile on two front legs she is also getting acquainted with using a custom built wheel chair. She is loving and kind, and friendly with everyone despite her terrible experience at such a young age. Despite the fact that she obviously has special needs due to her missing back legs and will need constant care, we are hoping that someone will want to adopt her so that she can get some much deserved love & attention. www.ppaws.com (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 17-04-24-00663Jerome (male)|
Jerome is a TriPaw, meaning he only has 3 legs having lost one of his back legs. He is 100% mobile though and gets around perfectly well. Not only that but he is a loving, loyal and protective dog currently residing at our rescue shelter in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. www.ppaws.com Prior to coming to us, he had been neglected and was malnourished but, he is now back in good health. He's a really great dog and gets on with other dogs after a short period from being introduced to them (as with most dogs). We have not exposed him to cats so we are unsure of how he behaves with them. We suspect probably okay because, as a street dog, living rough he would have been around cats. Our organisation (PPAWS) will ensure he is medically fit to travel and will cover the cost of any vaccinations for this as well as, producing his medical certificate for travel. To get him to the US he needs an up to date Rabies vaccination and can travel within 30-days. Please help and offer Jerome a loving home. After all he's been through he really deserves some TLC! |PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in Cambodia|
Dogs can make good pets in Cambodia if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year.
Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog!
