Hi my names Rocco i'm a relaxed, playful, loyal, smart well behaved dog. I love children and meeting new friends and cuddles. I love my owners but unfortunately I can't stay in their current property. Even tough they'll miss me greatly They need to get rid of me as quickly as possible. They are looking for some one that is around most of the day, and is able to take me for long walks morning and evening and give me lots of love. I told them i'd be strong and look after my new owners. They said they'd come visit me in my new home to see how i'm settled I when I'm gone. You could be my new best friend just call. milton keynes, Buckinghamshire United Kingdom

![]() | Rescue Me ID: 13-04-19-00025Siku (male)
AVAILABLE FROM 01/05/2013 Siku (KC Icetrax Siku) 5 year old wolf grey Alaskan Malamute, neutered male. Date of birth 01/08/2008. Kennel Club Registered, chipped and vaccinated (Parvovirus and kennel cough, boosters given in March 2013). Supplied with enough shampoo to last his lifetime, 107cm dog crate, stainless steel bowls with stand, 10m retractable lead, 6ft buffalo hide lead, slicker brush, rake, muzzle, nail clippers, rubbermaid food storage box and anything else I have that I might have forgotten. He has no history of ill health at all. In 2008 some Panacur wormer made him sick, he ate a bee once and I had to pull the sting out ... (Read More)of his throat, and he had a hotspot on his face which required shaving. Siku is a beloved family pet who has been brought up in a smoke free house with a small child (just turned 3 years old). He is very intelligent but with it he is also stubborn and easily distracted. Obeys some simple commands such as sit, lay down, paw, speak, leave it, off, outside, bed (he is crate trained). He also can follow hand signals for sit and lay down and he will ring a bell (or jangle keys left in a door) to let you know he wants to go out rather than barking. Talking of barking, Siku is a quiet dog but if you start howling, he will join in for a sing-a-long. He has a strong prey drive which is common with the breed and will refuse to 'stay'. Siku's recall has become a little improved with age but he could not be trusted off the lead. He has also recently begun to understand the concept of fetch, although he will probably get bored of that before you do. Siku likes to be outside in the winter and inside lying on the laminate flooring in the summer. Siku does not get along with many other dogs. He has shown aggression to males, both neutered and unneutered, especially boxers and bulldogs. He is particularly dominant and aggressive to other dogs when there is food around, such as treats being handed out in the park. That said, he has never shown such dominance or aggression towards humans. My daughter has always been able to give him treats without any issue and Siku never became impatient of frustrated even when she didn't understand that she actually had to hand the treats over to him. Siku eats Arden Grange dog food, only 2 cups per day, which costs around £30 for a 15kg bag lasting over a month. He will eat anything else as a treat, but he loves uncooked chicken wings and roasted beef knuckles. In summary, Siku would be best suited to a home with a garden which he can have ready access to and good areas for long walks. He would love to be around children but probably not other dogs. I would be willing to try him in a home with another dog, but I am doubtful they would get along 100%. If you are interested, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will expect you to know a little about the breed and to let me know about yourself, family, accommodation, location and circumstances. This would be a good place to start... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/lifestyle/pets/8131125/Alaskan-malamute-now-among-Britains-most-popular-dog-breeds.html (Less) Bexleyheath, London United Kingdom

| PIease Read Before Adopting a Dog in UK | |||||||||
Dogs can make good pets in UK if they match your IifestyIe. Dogs have a reputation for being "man's best friend" for excellent reasons. Dogs are wonderful companions. Many breeds, in addition to being affectionate, devoted members of the family, are useful working dogs and guardians. Most dogs form tight bonds with their humans, and need to be cared for like the valuable family members they are. But sadly, some owners do not live up to the responsibility and involvement it takes to properly care for a dog throughout its life. Dogs can become the victims of neglect or active abuse. Some dogs receive tender, attentive care from their owners, but no longer have a home after their owner passes away or experiences a major life event that makes him unable to keep his dog. There are many more dogs than there are homes for dogs, and dogs that are not spayed or neutered can accidentally produce large numbers of puppies, exacerbating overpopulation. For this reason, three to four million dogs, many of them perfectly healthy and wonderful animals, are euthanized in the U.S. each year. Many people get excited about owning a new dog, decide to get a puppy, and then pick one out at a pet shop or visit a breeder with a new litter. However, there are so many wonderful, friendly dogs in need of adoption, including puppies and purebreds. Some of these dogs might even be a better fit for a family than a new puppy; for instance, some adult dogs in need of adoption are already housebroken and obedience trained. Adoption is typically much less expensive than purchasing a dog. People who adopt dogs find the experience extremely rewarding, bond very closely with their dogs, and have the added satisfaction of knowing that one less animal has to be euthanized. If your family is ready for a canine companion, please consider adopting a dog! Rescue Me! - HeIpingAnimaIs in Need. | ![]() | ||||||||
